      Russians actually do use the number 4 when they are texting. Another good example is the letter Ы which can replaced with q. I personally use "q" as Ы but i have seen it done differently too. So, the word четыре would be typed as 4etqre in latin script. And also they use w for ш. Example: ebanawka.

      ą = ѫ
      ę = ѧ
      ią/ją = ѭ

The case system is also easy, because German has taught me how the 4 basic grammatical function cases work in a nominative-accusative aligned language, right? All Russian does differently is get rid of articles and add the word "with" as a suffix, right? Almost every noun predictably tells you its gender with the vowel ending, no need to memorize a hellish list like in German or French! Where it gets hard is when you get into *why* nouns need to always tell you their gender by themselves. A lack of articles doesn't seem like a big deal at first, but when you're in the third declension, you still have to get the noun and adjective to agree, and one of them's irregular in whatever dialect your Armenian taxi driver made up, but he won't understand you if you don't figure out how he messed it up and mess it up in the same way...

      ь and ы are useful in those vowels.
      There's normal vowels and modified
      Normal : А О Э И У Ы
      Modified : Я Ё Е Ї Ю ❌
      (Ї is actually in Ukrainian where Э Е И Ы are different but whatever)
      All of the modified letters are pronounced differently in different contexts. If they're in the beginning of a word or after a vowel they're pronounced like "Y+normal vowel" : "YA YO YE YI YU"/"ЙА ЙО ЙЭ ЙИ ЙУ"
      But if they're after a consonant they're different. They soften the consonant as if there's a Ь after it and then the unmodified letter. So for example РЕ is like РЬ Э. But the Ъ is the letter that cancels this and makes it so that it's still pronounced as Y+unmodified letter and the consonant isn't softened. ДЪЕ is like Д ЙЕ and not ДЬ Е

    I like making fun of the usage of Cyrillic letters for only aesthetic purposes, by trying to write how that would be pronounced.
    For example:
    “Тнis is iисоггест”
    Tnidz idz iisoggest

    Whenever I see faux Cyrillic, I instinctively read it with the Russian pronunciation, even though I am a native English speaker.
    Like, if I see someone write "ЯUSSIA" I will read it as "YAUSSIA" even though it is probably not mean't to say that.

      @@zucced2087 Well, not the language, but the writing system. I've always been interested in Cyrillic. And when I mastered Russian Cyrillic, I was intrigued to learn more types of Cyrillic from other languages whether it is Slavic or non-Slavic. And Serbian Cyrillic in particular fascinates me due to it having a letter to spell a Nj and Ć sound (Њ & Ћ) which is very close to my native language, and a single letter for a J sound in which you only need to write Џ instead of Дж as they do in Russian.
      That and also my deep admiration towards the USSR, Warsaw Pact countries, and SFRJ. Since I follow many of their ideals and the fact that Soekarno was very close with Jосип Броз Тито.

    The early Cyrillic alphabet was commissioned by Tsar Simeon the Great of Bulgaria in the 9th century AD to replace the Glagolitic script that Cyril and Methodius created which would serve as the basis of the Russian alphabet and basically most other slavic alphabets.
    Although some sources claim that it was actually Saint Clement of Ohrid that actually invented the Cyrilic alphabet,it was most likely developed in the Preslav Literary School (the then capital of the First Bulgarian Empire).
