That’s a fantastic solution, I plan to build this but I might screw 4 wooden blocks on the mould base to make pockets so I can put hidden caster wheels on, awsome build👍
Good idea! Just don't use as much concrete as I did - I got carried away and emptied the whole blue tub into the wheelbarrow, and now my base is twice as heavy as it needed to be. 😀
Ahhh that circle geometry was very helpful. I made a hexagonal trash cover several years ago and had to make a hex by hand, I wish I knew this trick back then. I think I ended up printing a template because I could freehand it
Hey, I'm happy that it was helpful! :-) My nephew has been out of school for about 7 years, he called me last week for help with a trigonometry question on a job interview/exam question. 30 years after leaving university with my mathematics degree, I was still able to remember SOHCAHTOA without having to look it up. It seemed helpful to him, so I think I might make a few "geometry" videos in the future. (He passed the test with 85% on his second try). :-)
Also, I really like your timelapse videos - Liked and Subscribed! :-) I've only tried a couple myself, the one that turned out best was the "rising dough" sequences in my "Bread" video: th-cam.com/video/s7Lz4Qfk82I/w-d-xo.html
Why? To make a sailing umbrella wandering in the yard with every wind? But then if you would say: "I might add wheels to the side walls for bend and move" then I would be with you one hundred percent.
That hasn't been a problem so far (and I've kept the umbrella unfurled for a couple of weeks now to check). If it becomes necessary, it should be a simple matter of drilling a hole through the tube and the umbrella pole, then fitting a pin.

Beautiful work!!
@@chatkat9765 Thanks! If I was making another one I think it'd be about half the size though - this one is so heavy that it's tricky to move around.

Perfect

Nice job. I might add wheels on mine or put on a dollie
To be honest, this base is at least twice as heavy as it needs to be. I got a little carried away with using up all the old concrete materials... :-)

👏👏👏👏👏👏
Will you secure the umbrella to the tube? it may not blow over but a wind gust will blow it out of the tube.

How would you feel about doing a welding tutorial?
Do you think anyone would be interested?
Yes. I would be.
This stand looks windproof.
Well it hasn't blown over YET, but on the other hand it's not hurricane-tested. :-)
@@TightwadWorkshop Hah hah. Enjoy and cheers
You know what .? I swear I could smell those fumes while you were welding 🤔
They're very bad for your health, and don't even get you high!
@@TightwadWorkshop Either way it looks extremely spiffy 🤠
