I grew up in Chennai, the daughter of middle-class, educated parents. Perverts are EVERYWHERE, and in spite of my being a protected child, I too experienced groping on so many occasions - especially on the public buses, which I occasionally had to take when I was in high school, after tuitions, etc. Parents can't be with us ALL the livelong day, even my parents. And we are simply not psychologically equipped to even broach such subjects even with our mothers, let alone our fathers. So, I can only imagine how vulnerable are the daughters of the people not so well-off, and who are not educated about anything in life.
Many of them are abused by their own fathers and brothers because the society is so repressed and the movies are FULL of crude, obscene sexual portrayals, eagerly drunk up by dirty men and boys and thereafter they are just desperately looking for young victims. Yuck, the whole government of India is like that, even today. And any censor board official who wants to do the decent thing is really bullied, ridiculed and hounded out by the dirty film fraternity swollen with sex and money, power and underworld connections.

I am shocked 😮imagine actress Lakshmi who said her own daughter Aiswarya was mad, not stable etc when she accused her mother’s 3rd husband/the stepfather was sexually assaulting her yet no one believed her!!!! 😮😮😮😮😮I feel sad for Aiswarya all that she had to endure in her life fighting all alone. My heart goes out to her! Her mum was the problem and I understand now. Glad Aiswarya ran away saving herself from this madness! 😢 end of the day these male chauvinist exists everywhere disguised as father, stepfather, husband, son, grandfather and we have no idea about them for decades!!!! 😢😢😢protect your children guys, please do not trust anyone even within your close circle as we do not know their real intention. I never leave my kids with anyone alone since birth as I’m so worried to the extent I don’t trust anyone. It’s a scary world. After reading the comments, I realized that the culprit is none other than the husband of the renowned veteran actress, Laxmi. (correct me if I'm wrong). Such incidents demand serious attention from society. Now his age, may be over 80, should not be a factor in showing leniency. This despicable act deserves strict action, and he must be held accountable, regardless of his age. He needs to be taught a lesson to prevent future psychopaths.

But still people want the name and fame and then they have to face the consequences of their decision. If women stop entering the film industry until they're treated with respect only then will things change. I mean the industry won't function without women so the women have to be united enough to put an end to this stuff.

Only then will his other victims step forward. Back in the 80s, this guy used to look quite villainous. Now he looks and talks like a genial harmless mature intellectual old man. May be he has mended his ways. But that is no reason for him not to face charges for his crimes from his youth/middle-age.

These kind of abusers, narcissistic people have a charming personality and they can easily influence anyone, as they know public dynamics and how to sway their opinion. This is why their victims get little to no sympathy and people refuse to believe the victims, because the abuser seems so convincingly innocent and the abused or taken advantage of by the victim. By the way, before even the victim reaches out to someone for help, the abuser usually has isolated, established that the victim is crazy. So the abuser finds the perfect naive victim and preys on them, by laying out a perfect which should never fail, no matter what. But then in rare cases, when things go horribly wrong, they get exposed. So, no these people don't have the ability to change to a better person. They can only fake it.

Even after I realised, from reading articles on child abuse, that this was child abuse, i have behaved as if I deserve only this kind of treatment. I have debased, devalued myself and believed that I always have to be ready to accept everyone's advances. As if, only when anyone appreciated me as a "sex object" I became real! Ha! What do I say? I have learnt to see these things. Such experiences ruin our future healthy relationships also.

Such women understand they are being abused but still let the men take advantage of them- not because they don't have a sense of what's been done to them/ or that they "freeze" every single time it happens as she puts it, but they very well know they won't get projects if they speak up. It's knowingly putting your career and ambitions over your abuse. and ideally no-one should be made to make this choice as these are victims at the end and I am not judging them for this priority.
But let's not make it look like that females are stupid that they don't understand abuse and don't know what to do, especially if the abuse is done over a period of time. You have all the time to think about actions/ steps you can take if it happens again.

I think few females get exploited by repeated prostitution but promised film work or those lakhs don’t happen - all these me too stories happen. This part is bad. It happens in every field, and women should speak out for justice to be done in our society.

I truly feel so sorry for what you have gone through but you could have avoided all this torture if from day one when he touched and kissed you you would have made it your last. You should have confided in your parents and be firm that you didn't want to work. Sometimes parents are so greedy that they want to make quick bucks through their children not foreseeing what it can end up into. Were they not concerned that she was spending nights there? What sort of parents who would let their 18 year old daughter spend nights at someone's house? Shame on the parents .For money they are ready to fo anything

In an interview with her aunt( her 1st b4 she broke into social media for fame and pity) she seems to imply she DID NOT tell her parents, her boyfriend friend, she decided to go back bcos of her "commitmen"t to movie and the director. This 18 year old body 13 year old mind studying in college ,having a boyfriend walked out on her parents as she CHOSE the film couple over her parents. She lived in Defence colony in Guindy where all upper class retired and serving officers live. You have people like IG of police, Major General of Indian army as your neighbors. Her dad was in the army. Do you think they would be greedy and push their daughter for money? By her own admission she was enamored by the movies and stardom. Pl watch that interview and then Mojo and Republic. You will see the narratives. In the interview with her in the introduction the aunt says- she was living with the man in his house and she brought her back!!! Do you really think this one is a HELPLESS victim and deserves our sympathy? Or was she trying to be calculative and the anger that her calculations went wrong? She was only a side kick in that movie for which she chose 3rd party over her parents.

That's terrible imagine your own mother denying the abuse that you went through. I'm glad that these abuses are coming out. Also part of the problem is this nonsense shame based culture that we follow.

Why had she to endure all these if she had stubbornly refused to go and act or to undertake the training. In stead protested vehemently about the inappropriate behaviour meted out to her there. Her determination to continue her studies. Her harmones made her to await eagerly the touching and grooming and other advances and the pleasure she got out of it and blaming now is so pathetic.
