had such a similar experience when i spent time in hawaii during college, it really motivated me to set boundaries with my time and make sure i wasn’t getting sucked into a hole of doing schoolwork all the time! balance is key. sorry you have to leave early it must be so rough saying goodbye 😔😔

I've lived in Hawaii all my life and I just wanted to say to not encourage ppl moving here in the midst of a pandemic. We're a really small community and our ICU beds aren't enough if the cases were to skyrocket again. Please do yourselves a favor and not endanger a relatively small community by moving here during a pandemic.

If our cases surge, it won't be able to cater to even 10% of the population. We don't have enough facility to cater for everyone. Those intensive care units aren't even including those who are ALREADY in those units. We also only have around 561 ventilators on Oahu. So please, do tell me if less than 4,000 units of equipment will help our population of 1.5m people. Also, it's many of the small communities (Pacific Islanders) within this already small community in Hawaii that have been impacted by COVID the most, so if you don't know anything please kindly stfu. We are definitely a small community compared to many other places and obviously, from those numbers, you can tell that we don't have enough facility to cater to everyone if numbers surge again. Fucking haole.
I use to live in Hawaii and I do agree on thinking the island life is extremely laid back and relaxed. I honestly still have to make time boundaries because I try to incorporate island living lol, but it has caused me to become a procrastinator. Im so happy you said that because it made me realize that Hawaii seriously does effect your thinking.
I guess having a good time anywhere while not working causes me to become a procrastinator.... loll not entirely Hawaii's fault. Hawaii just has the best/intriguing activities that really know how to keep you from school work.
Id say getting sidetracked into doing island activities are mostly a problem of out of state students i.e, students who are just here for college. Not to say us permanent residents dont get sidetracked. We just lived here long enough that we either "been there done that" or we got use to seeing the beach that we dont feel the need to go there anymore.
Idk why but your channel doesn't feel like a youtube channel at all. Maybe it's the way your videos are filmed, the choice of your profile picture or the name of your channel, but it feels like clips I used to throw together when I was young, not necessarily for anyone to watch, but for myself. It's really comforting.

Lol In my native language aina means always. Thought that it was cute that in your it means land and in an other it means always. And yeah i agree that people shouldn’t be moving rn especially to small communities like hawaii. Also its annoying that so many people do videos about hawaii and they never show any of the not so nice things, it gives an unrealistic picture of hawaii. No place is all sunshine and rainbows and having fun.
What bugs me about dem haoles here in Hawaiʻi is that they buy up the houses & apartments here. I live in an apartment thats majority college students. Im the only one renting my unit, everybody else owns theirs & sells em at prices locals cant afford. And that problem extends to Haoles who want to live here permanently because theyre causing the government to tear down local businesses to build million dollar apartments that locals cant afford. The economy focuses on inviting haoles to live here,causing housing to get more expensive, rather than focusing on keeping housing affordable for the locals. Tldr is, haoles moving here are causing a demand for million dollar apartments, like those in Ward, or prices of housing going up, thereby resulting in locals being forced to move out because only haoles w/ their millions can afford those properties.
4:10-5:45 It’s make SO MUCH sense, especially during this pandemic ! Maintaining our external balance (exactly setting boundaries for time) is SO crucial for maintaining our inner balance (mental health). Without the these kinds of balance, we become unmotivated doing anything so easily, even the things we enjoy ! I really kinda need this rn, thanks for talking about it! Love your vlog always! Great post, I'm also attending UH and struggling with overworking and setting these boundaries. The work life balance is super difficult to be accounntable for and like you've said with the boundaries for an A and A+ mindset can kill you sometimes. Glad it's spring break to actually breathe and finish work, but I know in the back of my head I'll have those thoughts of "I have a report I could get started on right now" lol. I've only just found you on youtube, but seem very responsible with the work you're doing. Keep up the quality posts and content, looking forward to watching more!

Ohhh, O’ahu. I miss O’ahu, I live on Maui, born and raised, and I love it here, but i’ve been to practically everywhere on this island. I usually go to O’ahu to visit family, and we love to hangout at windward mall all the time.

Although my Son is still young I'm already thinking about college for him. I wanted us to move there only during the time when he studies so we will stay possibly like 4 or 5 years. You don’t sound stupid! I made my dream school decision in 7th grade and got accepted my junior year for PreMedicine! I didn’t go, I chose another university and have switched twice since then but as long as you have a goal with a plan you’ll achieve it. I also learned in the 7th grade at a college fair, (yes I was attending college fairs), that if you write your goals down, they have a 70% chance of becoming true. If you want to go to Hawaii for school, write it down and continue to take school seriously 😊, you’ll make it! Sincerely a 20 year old university student

Are you referring to Upper and Lower Manoa Falls? Cause the Seven Bridges is the only one in that area that has multiple falls that is easily accessible. Was the guy even Local? LOL The second part of Manoa Falls is closed off and can only be access via the Na Hele trails up Tantulus. I only know this since I did all those hikes and found nearly all the "hidden" waterfalls. And isn't Manoa falls still close during this pandemic anyways?

Although my Son is still young I'm already thinking about college for him. I wanted us to move there only during the time when he studies so we will stay possibly like 4 or 5 years. Just having the experience of living there will be nice 🤗💗create moment enjoy the Island life. Nice video great tips too. 👍🏽

Ok I know I sound stupid cause I’m only in 7 grade but I WANT TO GO TO COLLEGE THERE SO SO BAD it’s my ultimate dream
You don’t sound stupid! I made my dream school decision in 7th grade and got accepted my junior year for PreMedicine! I didn’t go, I chose another university and have switched twice since then but as long as you have a goal with a plan you’ll achieve it. I also learned in the 7th grade at a college fair, (yes I was attending college fairs), that if you write your goals down, they have a 70% chance of becoming true. If you want to go to Hawaii for school, write it down and continue to take school seriously 😊, you’ll make it!

Are you referring to Upper and Lower Manoa Falls? Cause the Seven Bridges is the only one in that area that has multiple falls that is easily accessible. Was the guy even Local? LOL The second part of Manoa Falls is closed off and can only be access via the Na Hele trails up Tantulus. I only know this since I did all those hikes and found nearly all the "hidden" waterfalls. And isn't Manoa falls still close during this pandemic anyways?
