I've wondered about that too, especially since they've had a hard time getting these vehicles launched. Why not focus on one vehicle and try to do that the best you can?

@@phillyphil1513 Is the wheelbase how you measure it? There is only about 1.6 inches in total difference so I was thinking maybe the reason they were so similar in size was that they were building both off of the same platform, but I don’t really understand how all the parts go together.
How are you confused? Did you hear the prices and trim levels? It’s pretty straight forward. Then there’s always their ICE lineup if you need clarification where something is in the lineup. Seems like you can get everything on this vehicle except Carplay and a head up display. I test drove a Blazer and that 17 in screen looks so much bigger in person. People will like the normal knobs an switches for climate control and volume.
The Chevy website states as of 6/21/24 that even the 1LT comes with a 17.7inch display and 319 mile range! If the price doesn’t change which I’m sure it will be more when it comes out but if it doesn’t then I will order the 1LT as soon as I can. Wonder when they will allow us to start the orders?

Is the blue a preproduction thing? Seems the the only version I've seen of this car at shows is the bright blue exterior with the while roof (which I like very much).
Going with their valuable (to them) existing ICE brand names on these cars means they were serious designing and bringing these to market...hopefully they sell well.
A few aspects I'm a little confused on: 1. The upcoming Cadillac Optiq is essentially a premium/luxury version of the Equinox EV. The Optiq AWD (standard) with a 85kw battery (same as the EQ), has a 300mi range, where as the Equinox EV AWD has 285mi range. 2. The Optiq has 300hp total, and the Equinox AWD is 288hp. *Is there a software lock on the Equinox (range and horsepower) to make the Optiq more "premium"?
Last year they were saying this was going to be 300 hp single motor 400hp with dual. No way im paying $45k for something this slow! My Ford Focus has same specs got it for $3k
Chevy is "pushing the envelope" by replicating what Tesla has been doing for 12 years. So, what does Chevy offer: Higher price More weight (+700lbs) Less power Lower DC charging power Lower effciency Lower towing capacity Anything I missed?
I have a Blazer and it seems that whatever this car lacks, the Blazer received and vice versa. One glaring one is SuperCruise , power moonroof and front parking sensors is what's missing in the Blazer. It seems unless you custom order one, you won't get the specific car you want
Another TH-camr indicated Google Maps/Routing on the Equinox EV is a subscription service. Can you confirm? If so, do you know what the subscription fee is?
I don’t understand Chevy having two EVs like the Blazer and Equinox so close in size. I thought the blazer was a solid step forward from the Equinox for a similar price.
I will say one thing that Tesla gets right for buyers, is not having features locked behind nickel and dime trim levels. No memory seats on a 45,000 dollar vehicle until you go up a trim level? Come on! Also make it slow as hell to protect their fast cars, smh GM
I can't imagine what they are taking out of this to get to a 1LT? Great review. Concise and covers everything. This would be good at 32,500, but seems impossible today for cars with 300 miles. The interior here does look a bit better than Y, except for the ridiculous blue accents. Why the interior had to scream electric is beyond me? Otherwise a very saleable vehicle with great distance.

Where are you getting the information that Chevy is changing the basic specs they have announced and are advertising for the 1LT? The 1LT not only has the 17" screen, but also 319 miles of range.
The Blue looks clean!
It looks amazing!
I need to know the distance from the ground to the edge of the front seats... Can you get that spec for me? (I have a passenger with poor hip mobility)
Wireless charging without a fan overheats and degrades your cell phone battery. The Google OS is excellent and works great. I have ACP as an option in my Polestar 2, I’ve never used it because the native Google OS is very good. You go Chevy! Lead the way! Maybe after my P3 lease is up, I’ll look at Chevy.
Nice! I’d take the dual motor. Anything to avoid giving my money to a megalomaniac (or the Chinese) LOL
Not bad at all for the price....others should follow...
Thank You
23:48 is the weight listed on the driver's side lower B-pillar?
I hope the blue interior trim is just an option, but I love the exterior color. I’ll wait to see what the new Bolt will look like.
The Chevrolet Equinox EV impresses with affordability and range. Toyota bZ4X combines reliability, efficiency, and environmental friendliness, setting a high standard in the electric SUV market.
They have a $7,500 tax credit on these . Supposedly to reduce your payments . Wrong , they raised the MSRP on these , so there's the catch lol . You guessed it , it's a gimmick by GM & the IRS
I am picking up an Equinox EV in a couple of days. Any good TH-cam videos on charging? Educational and options for home charging? Assume I will need a 220v outlet in my garage. Will 50 amps due or is 60 amps recommended. I noticed you tested the 0-60 mph on Jefferson avenue in Gross Point. Lucky you didn't get pulled over.
I really think Chevy did a good job on the exterior styling on this, the tech is impressive as well but those interior styling cues are not easy on the eyes that blue plastic trim seems way over the top imo
I have a deposit on a 2025 LT base model. Will be in Nov 7. Can't wait! 34.995
20:50 I don’t think that’s right at all. 1LT will have the same battery and range as all the other trims, just heavily de-contented.
Correct. The initial proposed 1LT was going to have a smaller battery and 11" center screen. The 1LT will now have the same battery and screen sizes as the other trims.
I'll never understand why the traditional U.S. economy auto brands insist on mid-west cheesy.
Because they're in the mid-west.
@@nicholassmith7048 You'd think they would learn something from the Germans who absolutely wipe the floor with them on styling and engineering. I say this as a proud U.S. citizen who goes out of his way to buy American manufacturing whenever it makes sense.
Sofyan looks good, must be Keto, keep it up. Your reviews are the best..
Kind of confused how GM is marketing this car. Its almost the same size as the Blazer EV
right? they should make the Traverse a PHEV so it can compete w/ the Wrangler 4xe, and introduce a TRAX EV to replace the Bolt and sit in the $25k-30k range
I've wondered about that too, especially since they've had a hard time getting these vehicles launched. Why not focus on one vehicle and try to do that the best you can?
well almost, for sure the Eqnx is big but the Blazer EV is even BIGGER. ie, 116" wheelbase vs. 122" wheelbase so a whole 6" has been cut from the Ultium platform.
Bolt will be like the fully electric Trax which will sit under this as the entry level Ev model for the brand.
Finally Chevy, you made it, I don’t know how Honda prologue is costly, my preference turned from Tesla to Chevy now
The front end is Waaay better than the Mach E, that’s for sure
The rear seat catch is huge, and looks downright dangerous.
Great looking car inside and out. Just wished the headlights and the daytime running lights weren’t divorced.
Definitely holding onto my 2022 Launch Edition Bolt EUV for a while. It has many features this one is lacking. I don't need the faster charging this one offers as 98% of my charging is at home.
Does one now need to pay GM for a monthly data plan to use the Waze and streaming audio since it doesn’t integrate with a phone?
Also, credit to GM for making this FWD in base trim. Those of us who live in Michigan now don’t have to buy AWD to make them usable in the winter.
I am not sure if I buy this car compare to ID4 but I would like to know if in your right side I see ocean. Where did you this shooting?
How do the interior / exterior dimensions compare against model Y? Looks very compelling.
Nice! Hopefully it’ll have access to the Tesla SCN.
Seems like you can get everything on this vehicle except Carplay and a head up display. I test drove a Blazer and that 17 in screen looks so much bigger in person. People will like the normal knobs an switches for climate control and volume.
13:10 All the functionality from CarPlay is NOT included. It's not even close. This is a dealbreaker for me.
What is missing?
Does the Equinox cameras record to a USB drive?
I really enjoy your videos, I see Michigan plates on the car, are you located in Michigan? Where so?
He looks like he's trying not to laugh at the 0 to 60 lol
Very nice review. I use an android phone and i love Waze, so i am in lol. Thank you.
You just answered my question about my apple CarPlay. I really think I’m going to buy this car. The quality and price work for my budget and I want an EV. ❤
Just be sure they (gm/chevy) don't charge $ for map updates. That is my main gripe from other auto makers
Is the blue a preproduction thing? Seems the the only version I've seen of this car at shows is the bright blue exterior with the while roof (which I like very much).
Gm starts to get it right. FINALLY
Going with their valuable (to them) existing ICE brand names on these cars means they were serious designing and bringing these to market...hopefully they sell well.
A few aspects I'm a little confused on:
I wonder how the ride will be with the 21in wheels vs the 19in wheels?
Chevy is "pushing the envelope" by replicating what Tesla has been doing for 12 years.
So, what does Chevy offer:
Higher price
More weight (+700lbs)
Less power
Lower DC charging power
Lower effciency
Lower towing capacity
Anything I missed?
I have a Blazer and it seems that whatever this car lacks, the Blazer received and vice versa. One glaring one is SuperCruise , power moonroof and front parking sensors is what's missing in the Blazer. It seems unless you custom order one, you won't get the specific car you want
I agree with you on that blue, it’s too much!
chevrolet should bring this to south east asia
Another TH-camr indicated Google Maps/Routing on the Equinox EV is a subscription service. Can you confirm? If so, do you know what the subscription fee is?
I really like this Equinox. My test drive vehicle had red paint and blue interior. Wtf?
I don’t understand Chevy having two EVs like the Blazer and Equinox so close in size. I thought the blazer was a solid step forward from the Equinox for a similar price.
Love seeing companies develop subpar products in name of "ecology" and "technology"
No wireless phone charging is a big, stupid miss by GM.
I'm interested in the 2LT with adaptive cruise.
I will say one thing that Tesla gets right for buyers, is not having features locked behind nickel and dime trim levels. No memory seats on a 45,000 dollar vehicle until you go up a trim level? Come on! Also make it slow as hell to protect their fast cars, smh GM
LT trim will have same battery as other trims. Nedd to correct your video. Also honda prologe is similar to blazer EV not equinox ev
I can't imagine what they are taking out of this to get to a 1LT? Great review. Concise and covers everything. This would be good at 32,500, but seems impossible today for cars with 300 miles. I would guess that it's going to come down to financing on the lease terms as to what people will get. This or a Y. The interior here does look a bit better than Y, except for the ridiculous blue accents. Why the interior had to scream electric is beyond me? Otherwise a very saleable vehicle with great distance.
No Car Play or Available Wireless Charging. Strange
its because they are using built in google and alexa instead
@@Shellshock1985Honda also does it too with the accord and has CarPlay
Don't forget to add $1K - $2K to install a level 2 home charger due to the horrible CCS charging infrastructure .
I wonder if the screen does not work how you turn on the headlights 😂
Gm quality
I guess the same way you would if the light control switch broke. The screen will just last much longer than the plastic switch/controls. Y’all complain about everything.
Galaxy gray looks purple to me, anyone else? And no CarPlay is so obnoxious. I’m over it
Me: is that a real color??
The comments: how did they make this color in mass production?
Me: 🤯
Let's hope this sells well.
Can anybody suggest me about this car coz im planning to buy it next week.should i go for it or no?this is gonna be my first brand new car and plz suggest me if anyone have experience in cars
The door sounded tingy. He said it had a relatively good thunk. It didn't. It rattled
You are underselling the 1LT. It will have the same 17.5" screen and the same battery and range as the higher trims
Long Range Tesla Model Y: 320 Mi, 0-60 in 6.5, $44,990
Tesla Model Y AWD LR: 308 Mi, 0-60 in 4.8, $47,990
I am hardly getting 250-260 miles on my MY LR in summer, that might drop further more to 200 miles in winter
Apparently GM thinks phones are just for phone calls lol. Actually they contain our entire professional and private lives.
All press information regarding 1LT and Chevys website state 17.7” screen for the 1LT. Chevy has also removed the 1LT and 2LT photos from the press website.
The images could have been preproduction vehicles or preproduction renders. Not saying you’re wrong, but everything facing the press and consumer says otherwise.
Good looking car
You should do more pov driving videos we can’t see the road when you are driving
seems ok,, charging rate seems really slow,, standard is around 350 kw
@@EpicDrew15 the world
Glad to see Chevrolet finally put out a great EV at an affordable price
What color is that?
Not bad at all. My EV6 RWD Wind is up in Sept 2025. So I've come to the realization that I don't care for RWD and the door handles are a pain BUT I do get 360-375 mi of range. It's advertised at 310. Will the Equinox get MORE than advertised after all it has an 85 kWh battery pack. My EV6 has a 77.4 kWh battery pack and it gets this crazy range..... 😎
I thought the 2LT was the upper end model and the 1LT the lower end?
I’m ok, I’ll wait to try and drive this on any rental cars company.
Good review, not a big fan of that color scheme though. Even the Bolt at least had very nice 2 tones colors, I had the gray seats with white stripe down the center and burnt red stitching very sharp. Other than that Chevy is going to sell hundreds of thousands of these . Pricing much closer to what is realistic for most working class. range is excellent . we will see a lot of peopel that drive at te 65-70 mph showing 350 miles . Looks like 400 miles range in town. Get your discount electric rate for charging at night and a lot of people wont be spending more than $20 a month. (600-800 miles a month mostly city) .
