Great work, Greg. Don't think they will be parking on the grass any time soon!!!!!😂😂 Love your videos Greg. You put your heart & soul into literally everything you do:-) There are not many young people that do things by the book or in general. Your hard work shows in the passion & pride you have in what you do every day of the week without fail. An absolute GENIUS :-)
Fantastic work Greg.. Two GREAT reasons never to by a RR Sport. 1) they are about the least capable off road 4x4 ever on damp grass, and 2) they are nearly always owned by people with no idea how bad they are on damp grass! They are also nearly always badly maintained, with bald tyres and bad brakes. I've seen and indeed recovered many from situations like this. Full fat Range Rovers and Disco's were much more expensive for a reason!
There not much wrong with a sport, this ground shouldn't have caused to much of a problem. Though i can't argue with you about how they are kept. A set of decent tyres and someone who knows how to drive, ie don't on that ground. Think my Full fat would have got stuck on road tyres.
@@johnseaton1031 as a recovery operative of 40 years i can tell you I have recovered many on a rope/chain with a Hi Lux on factory tyres an Isuzu, a Navara and even a Transit recovery truck. I've also seen plenty of 2wd standard cars go where these wont. Only ever recovered one Disco which met its end in a river upside down. You could however be right... The Disco generally attracts more sensible people... Tbh i would much rather have a Land Cruiser than either car. Simply my personal preference!
@@coletorrens1121 I've had a similar amount of time, though through various clubs etc, both training and general running. I can understand you're like for the Toyota's, however i've been Landi based, spose what you know. I wouldn't have any of the newer models though, some seem to attract a sort of 'chave' appeal. They aren't the work horse's they used to be. I only ever carry a minimum of recovery gear while out, never found i needed more.
Range rover is a heavy beast and on summer road tyres on mud and grass will be useless. Nice professional work, I would be really impressed if you did have grass seeds lol.
In terms of lighting (white spots) can't recommend the LAP Strolux range - unbeatable for the money. Serious quality and performance at very reasonable prices. Pretty much the same as Strands gear, just not with the price tag! A 42" double stacked lightbar would look great on the roof of the Disco, and/or a 22" double on the bumper/grille.
@@markfoden765 Erm, yes I did watch to the end 😉 Yes I know Greg was paid for both jobs. At the point of the video I posted that it looked like his friend was trying to get the range rover out so he didn't have to pay 😎
U do a rally good job on here mate how are u mate keep up there goid work on here mate keep up there good job on here mate keep up there good work on here
That range rover should drive out of there, all down to technique and learning how to drive it correctly, most people drive every vehicle in the same way, which works just fine on the road but not in that situation. Good job but personally I would use a soft shackle at the stuck vehicle end and not a heavy steel shackle, two reasons, one is no chance of damage to the casualty vehicle and two less weight moving through the air if something breaks.
Honestly that grass was both long, very wet and the ground slopeing. No place for a car and no way the heavy range rover on road tires had any hope of pulling out the car once it was on the grass. To be honest I know for a fact my isuzu d max on all terrain tires would have be leaving ruts driving across in low box with good all terrain tires. I doubt I'd have got stuck, but no chance it would have had the traction to pull the car out.
Very true that’s full on mud tyre territory if he wanted to pull a car out, maybe with😊 a chunky all terrain he might of driver across it himself but never with a car in tow too
@Mr GDB Official Sadly not many other options apart from the towing eye these days, most vehicles may look like the lower arms can take it but they usually bend just hitting a pot hole let alone recovery stresses.
Hope the council charge the muppets for re turfing the grass! r r sports are pants full fat or discos the only way but then i have had so many problems with 2 x l322 and now the 405 is playing up so time to move on from range rovers
@@GDBRescueandrecovery my neighbour parking on grass verge after pavement and council came down took pictures and he got a £60 fine plus a bill to return the verge for £80 ! He's never parked there since!
Great video. Having the right tools, makes life easier.

Why do people park on grass after all the rain we have had. But on the bright side keeps you in business. Well done Greg

The range rover sport has identical running gear to the discovery 4. It all comes down to tyres and to much throttle

Looks like that Range Rover driver sat there going full throttle for ages and dug itself a deeper hole
Nice one Greg, glad his friend decided to pay to get the sport out as would probably still be there now trying to get it out🤣🙂👍
At the end of the day! It is what it is!

This is what happens when you pimp up a RRS. Never had an issue with mine. Decent tyres and know how to dry a off roader. Job done.
very true indeed! Thanks for watching!
Greg you need a snatch block for your four wheel drive car
I did wonder what them bits sticking out of the side of the car were for , I realise now they are for your winch rope to wrap around 😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Not the sharpest tools in the shed 😂

What are your plans for Amber Lights/Work Lights for the Discovery? Is that your next modification?
Ha! In Holland we say, two flies in one clap! But actually I mean; kill two birds with one stone. 😆😆
I take it his friend didn't want to pay to get his rangie off the grass, hence trying to pull it off themselves 😆😆😆
You obviously didn't watch till the end as Greg pulled it out and said he had payment for both jobs which will go towards the disco👍

Hi bro, another fantastic video so informative 👏

Make it make sense 🤷♂️
Nice one Greg that Range Rover should of got off that grass under it’s on steam another Wally driver with all the gear and no idea
Some people don't realise how slippery wet grass is.
Some people also don't realise you have to turn the steering wheel to the left to go left!
😂😂😂😂
I would love if you could go through your vehicles and show what you have on them lights wise and stuff like that
The RR Sport was fitted with genuine Teflon tyres.
Saw you cruising down the A500 yesterday in your Daf heading towards the traffic jam at junction 15 🤦♂️
Wicked video 😂
Great work. Can I ask the best way to leave the Disco? In park with handbrake on or in neutral with handbrake on?
Id of wanted the money up front off these characters thats for sure 😂 They really do know how to make our areas into proper sh1t holes dont they
Cheeky beggars had taken the wooden posts out for their own parking area. Chavtastic 😂
What winch are you using. Fantastic job.
Only a cheapo endurance one!

Seems like a case of I've got a 4 wheel drive and I don't know how to use it to me
It had road tires on, no chance from the start even driving across yet alone attempting a tow out.
@@paulf2529 good point but even so they think cuase they have a 4x4 it will go anywhere do anything when it won't
A well thought out recovery Greg, more than can be said for the customers driving skills ! 👍🏽😎

I’ve said before , charge for what you do and pay for what you buy . I’ve seen one sided favours go badly wrong .
Oh dear me!😮
Yuppp!
Excellent job on both . You know you’re apples don’t you.
Not surprisingly spun wheels in first gear
Handbrake on and off 😮 don’t think it will roll anywhere
Winching of the towing eye is dangerous if that snaps of that will kill somebody
Be ok for that operation risk and pull is minimal.
@Mr GDB Official Sadly not many other options apart from the towing eye these days, most vehicles may look like the lower arms can take it but they usually bend just hitting a pot hole let alone recovery stresses.
How the hell did they mange that other than being total prats.
If driven right that range should of been able to deal with that.

That Range Rover was shit for an off-roader.
