    4:23 The demo has always had a rushed look to it, but what’s strange is that we can still see the layout of the added scratches in the 2020 demo. It’s almost like the weapon model itself wasn’t fully finished when they had to throw out this demo. In any case, the final game definitely is more visually appealing than the demo and I’m glad the game was delayed. However, I still don’t understand how the game still isn’t content complete yet even with the delay (coop, forge, infection, firefight, etc.) Just makes me wonder how the game would have been had it been released in 2020. Would season 2 have taken two years to be released?

    • @adamthompson9388
      @adamthompson9388 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      I think the delay marked a shift in priorities for the studio, mainly that they seem to be trying their best to avoid crunching. As anyone who's ever worked on a project can probably attest to, crunching is quite an efficient way of getting a lot done in a shorter space of time. However it's also unethical and completely unsustainable for a live service game. I expect, if they'd released in 2020, the plan would have been to continue cracking the whip to get these things released as soon as was physically possible. Whereas now the focus seems to be on finding a sustainable rhythm for this stuff and not to push their team too hard. It sucks for now but in the long run I think it's the better decision.

    • @adamthompson9388
      @adamthompson9388 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@SW-8228 I agree. As I said, for a live service game, it's neither sustainable nor ethical to crunch like that. One of the people who worked on Halo 5's post launch support was saying on Twitter that they went through developers extremely quickly forcing monthly content updates. Crunch is meant to be few weeks of hard work followed by a hefty bonus and a long break, but for a live service game it's followed by being straight back into the next content update. Just completely impractical.

    • @kezzle9609

      As long as 343 don’t butt in with their Chief/Cortana fan fiction, and Microsoft backs off from telling Joe what to do we might get things back on track. There needs to be less of a focus on Chief and more on the ring as well as linking up with the rest of the UNSC. We need more marine banter during cutscenes and over comms during the campaign to make us feel less like a lone Spartan and more of a cog in the machine. 343 has always struggled with that aspect. You’ll only here named characters over comms and when there is a unnamed marine character they are written super generic with no personality. We need a more Aliens/Starship Troopers feel to Halo again.

    the E3 Demo had more dramatic death animations to the enemies and more satisfying and present Blood effects especially when Chief is shooting Grunts, it was something that the series always had since CE and is totally absent in Infinite unfortunely. the hitmarkers were re-used from Halo 5 and I thought it would be great if they kept that instead but I was certainly happy with new ones which is also very satisfying in the final game.

And none of the things they added had any business being in a early build we saw. The devs should have been applauded for not faking anything like other devs do. Gunplay feels worse in Infinite even compared to H4 and H5, it's not just the bullet trails too but also the new hitmarkers and shield effects on enemies, it makes the feel of the guns worse overall. @@Glitch5970 I'm going to disagree that gunplay is worse than Halo 4/5 but the Hitmarkers, Traces and Shield effects looked cool and now they don't anymore. Infinite still has some of the best gunplay in any Halo game but adding those in as features would be great.

      @@mynamedoesntfi--6161 I hear you, but there is nothing Infinite does to make the gunplay feel better than in H4 and H5, so Idk why it would be the best for you. It removes stuff like we agree on. Plus all the FP animations now are all shaky and super fast, cod like pretty much, nothing like the previous games in terms of FP animations too. So I'm confident in saying objectively Infinite's gunplay is worse than previous games, you can say it's better in some ways compared to older titles because of graphics alone but that's about it, but I mean, I think we can both agree at least Infinite's gunplay is still fine and better than a lot of other games today, it's just that some older Halo did it better. @@Glitch5970 Halo Infinite has great gunplay because of the Weapon Animations, Sound and feel. I hate how they got rid of Traces and Hitmarkers but that doesn't make the gunplay worse than Halo 5. Also, mix it with the Sandbox items like the grappling hook and you have a recipe for great gunplay. Also, your final sentence, about how every aspect of Halo Infinite was done better in a previous Halo, can be applied to every Halo (atleast in my opinion). Halo 2 has a good campaign but Halo Reach has a better campaign. Halo Infinite has good gunplay but Halo Reach has better gunplay. Halo 5 has good multiplayer but Reach has better multiplayer. Halo 4 has great characters but Reach has better characters. Halo 3 has great Forge but Halo Reach has better Forge etc.

I get we can see all the pores and whatnot in the final but when it comes to realism subtlety is the key. Just my opinion but the E3 cinematic looks more showy and more cinematic in the sense of it was made to look good for the show vs the final build has all these details, yes but the definition of the lighting and overall cinematic look is lost due to optimization for the various builds. Like the bloom effect that's lost from the E3 version, clearly that's a big giveaway to my point of view. Just a thought.

    Can you imagine a new jetpack as an equipment? Lowered gravity and super jump instead of jetpacks like halo reach and 4, just like the brutes use them in infinite

    Great comparison! The extra year really did wonders for the game. Additional future DLC with more biomes and even deeper story will only build upon this. But... that isn't the Infinity that has crashed, right?

      It's not, the infinity holds 10 ships that size in cargo alone

      @@ABZZDEV yeah, I thought that would seem more reasonable 🙂.

    Definitely a frigate, not the wrecked Infinity. Great video though!
