Woohoo! 7th Citadel is very close to finally being delivered now! 😅 (btw loved your example of somehow managing to fail even when you actually succeeded! 😂).

I discovered this video with the Legendary James Bond game just after learning that the legendary Sean Connery had passed away. May he rest in peace! Thank you to SU&SD for this bittersweetly well-timed video!
Looks as though I'll be picking up the GF9 Aliens game. From your preview/review it looks like a very strong sci-fi entry into the boardgame world and it looks to offer a viable solo version of Space Hulk while bringing a lot of other features to the table. Thank you for this preview, excellent work.
Thank you for doing a presentation on Aliens Bug Hunt. There is not a lot of information on this game. I ordered the last copy remaining at my local shop this weekend without really knowing what to expect. I'm glad I grabbed it !
@@xoxososoe8308 Another Glorious Day in the Corps. I'm usually dead set against co-operative games, but the theme is too good to pass. Also the idea of a rescue mission sounds good.
Well, the back story of 7th Citadel involves evil worms, Aliens is about horrible worms that burst out of your torso, and James Bond... I dunno, he probably had worms once.
The Legendary games really suit what I like from board games - you get the satisfaction of building a clever little engine in your deck, but you never know exactly which cards you're going to have in your hand or what the situation on the board is going to be so you have to adapt your plan a little bit every turn. They're games that are easy and fun to pick up, but really reward multiple plays as you get familiar with the interactions and balance points of the mechanics and learn a bit about how all the heroes and villains work. Set up is a little time consuming though, so maybe worth doing before you bring the other players to the table if you're the one teaching it. Unless the James Bond theme is a massive selling point, I'd probably recommend buying into the Marvel Legendary games instead since there's an enormous stack of expansions that give you access to new mechanics and let you change up elements of the core gameplay to give you even more new things to respond to. But it does look like there are some cool twists in this version, with the final card in particular adding a bit of tension to the end of the game. One thing I would say about it is that despite the designers' claims, this is definitely a 2-3 player game if you want to play cooperatively and aren't looking to undercut and frustrate the people you're playing with. At 4 or 5, it's almost impossible for every player to build a deck of comparable power, which means either everyone playing a slightly rubbish deck and probably losing, or two people playing great decks and everyone else spending unimpressive turns picking up chaff cards to allow the people who are going to win the game to keep building up their engines.
Love your game reviews and views. You remind me of the postgrads I used to spend entire weekends with when I was doing my research degree. Happy days. Stay safe and keep up the4 brilliant work.
I think the only way to properly play the Legendary James Bond game is by putting the decks in baccarat shoe horns and sliding them out. (And in a tux if you really go all out.)
The Aliens game looks very, very interesting. Feels a LOT like the old Leading Edge board game but with updated and streamlined rules, higher production values and some very exciting new concepts while still maintaining the same nerve wracking tone. I've been waiting almost 30 years for another good Aliens board game, I am pumped to check this one out once we're able to have game nights again.
Was interested in Aliens AGDITC but hadn't seen any decent info on how it plays etc so was holding off. Thanks to SU&SD I can bag the Marine Corps bundle with all the extras for less than the cost of the separate parts WooHoo!
So as a massive Aliens fan, I'm feeling compelled to get both Aliens games. I didn't buy Alien vs Predator cause it looked not so great. Aliens Another Glorious Day looks real good and Bug Hunt honestly looks pretty fun too.
I really like the way minis are used in Aliens: Another Glorious Day in the Corps. you still get some rather nice minis, but they aren't gigantic chunks of plastic, and you don't get 70 of them, and they have a good system so that a single Alien mini can represent as many Aliens as needed.
Kind of weird for a game to have two expansions already made before a game is out, but the base game for the first Aliens game sounds pretty cool! Might be checking that one out!
@@SpoonyBard88 - most wait with releasing that until after the base game hits though. Hence that at Kickstarter you have to pay for double shipping unless you want it all to ship 6 months after base game normally is shipped as everything will be shipped together with the expansion.
Shame the Aliens game comes with miniatures you have to assemble yourself. Would preferred to pay more for the finished article or got simple standing tokens instead.
Second concern lol, the more times you fire in a turn the harder it will be to hit anything, it would have made more sense the other way around?! Spray more ‘bullets or whatever’ increase your chance to actually hit something. It’s still a purchase but I do find that rule very odd.
Quinns, if you loved the Aliens game, have you ever tried Big Trouble in Little China: the Board Game by Everything Epic? Another extremely well made licensed board game, that is not a long campaign, but a 2-part single session experience, that plays differently every time. Highly recommend!!

I think a few years back they had a policy where they didn't review games you couldn't buy. So Kickstarter exclusive games were not something worth the time and effort because odds are you either already had the product or couldn't get it by the time the review was out. I don't know if this has changed in recent years but it's quite possible since many kickstarters send early editions and prototypes to review channels before funding closes.
It's a bit odd to see a "preview" for Legendary James Bond, a game that was released at GenCon 2019. Was there a massive retail delay? I came here expecting info about the more recently-released expansion.
Agreed. I got that game in October 2019 and played it at BGG.con in November 2019. It was easy enough to get at least here in the States. Maybe UK deliveries were badly held up?

l'd love an actual Alien game, with trademarked minis to paint! However, l already got Level 7 & am currently waiting for my Nemesis to arrive, how does the Aliens board game hold up to those two?
I have Nemesis and Lifeform, but still thinking on getting Aliens as well. Nemesis is semi-coop, more about discovering and exploring than killing vs Aliens is go to your objective and kill a lot of Aliens in a real movie thematic way. My only issue is the price, you need to buy all expensions to get the most out of it and for 150$ its a lot vs Nemesis is 128$ in my local shop and you dont need any expansion to fully enjoy it. I think Nemesis is more replayable, but as an Aliens fun I would enjoy this game as well....but the price. A good gameplay video may convince me.
One thing I don't like about Another Glorious Day in the Corps is the unassembled models. I love board games, and miniatures, but not modeling. At all.

Does SUSD go through a culling process to harshly examine similar games in terms of "Apples-to-Oranges, but keep only one"? If they did not mention SH of GoW, is there proof they played either to draw parallels? Are they a review group who is constantly exposed to dozens, if not hundreds of games a year that are forever vying for that coveted wall space?
Does SUSD go through a culling process to harshly examine similar games in terms of "Apples-to-Oranges, but keep only one"?
From someone who is indeed making a decision based on limited information, limited finance, and already owns GoW, my opinion is: This seems very similar to Gears of War, I do not need to purchase.
That was the premise. That is my conclusion. If there is a direct comparison in the wings, I will give it the utmost attention. But then there is Aliens: Bug Hunt that seems like Venom Assault meets Xenoshyft. These licenses are simply not meeting the personal qualification that they have added value over a simple added license.
It will not be listed on BGG as a reimplementation. It is not a direct port. But i, from this video as the basis of my statement, do not see enough improvement/distinction to feel it is better than the bird-in-the-hand.
Can I play this as solo, one player?
I want that Aliens game!!! Is it going to be a Kickstarter or how do we get it?
Website asking me for a password?
Seems its broken
I believe it goes live at 4pm UK time :) See the Friday Schedule video posted earlier today by SUSD
Goes live in 10 minutes!
@@shutupandsitdown D'oh! 4pm UK time!
Is that shirt fashionable...?
007 game looks like a new Harry Potter deckbuilder game which is to say, lackluster compared to the source material.
The Legendary series long predates the Harry Potter game - and is more complex and true to the source material.
Damn it man. Where it the complete aliens review!
The real winner of this entire video is the pink underwear. Everything else is subsidiary to that awesomeness.
If you look at one of the cards in the second Alien game, it's really 'Get Away From Her you B*tch" -- thus confirming it is Bandersnatch.
Have y’all played AVP the hunt begins?
@@TheGrandJesterTabletop I agree. I think it had to do with Disney acquiring fox.
It died because Prodos was doing a second edition when it still hadn't managed to send out people's Kickstarter pieces and they were generally a crap company.
@@captainsuperfreak1607 still a great game.
why is it asking for a password?(on the convention page)
