- A complete rundown of a recent trip off Cairns, Far North Queensland - Australia where I managed to land a beautiful Black Marlin with my Aimrite Vendetta Double Roller!

Hands down one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Then to see how far that fish went in feeding a family for months and months not only with its self but then trapping hogs and crabs on the “leftovers”. Awesome video

Your a beast and your father in law is a legend. My goal for next summer in NZ is a marlin but dont have a gun appropriate at the moment. Torn between an aimrite or coatse. Thanks for the amazing thought process narration, really helps us who are trying to aim for this type of task!

Not trying to be contradictory or anything just curious as to why its sad to see them being speared?
yep me too fished for all my life but that marlin swims up to you not scared almost inquisitive and you killed it oh well each to his own
right there with you Andrew. People will spear all the marlins and when they are gone, ask what happened. There is no fair chance to shooting a marlin with a spear. The is an apex predator and has no fear of a person in the water. So it swims right up to you and you kill it. Oceans are being depleted at a rate never seen before and all we can do is watch it happen. If you really just want to feed your family, there are millions of wild hogs. Harvesting them is sustainable and beneficial. If everyone starts spearing marlins, they will be gone in one generation.

as a Floridian, I was an avid saltwater fisherman and spearman in my youth. but I never had a boat so I used to use a surfboard to go out as far as I can. I even used to spearfish around the piers for sheepshead.

that is so awesome how sustainable you are. using the marlins tail as dog food, using the head as pig bait then using the pigs bones as crab pot bait.
