    Thanks!

      calf raises man, what else? running, jumping and jump rope will also help, if you eat enough. keep in mind that calf size is mostly genetic though. people with long achilles tendons usually have trouble building up their calves, myself included.

    even people i respected before lost alot of my attention lately. Nobody trains legs really hard way. They dont move, they cant sprint and jump and squat heavy. And THAT IS CALISTHENICS. Balzzar is nice example of whole body explosive powers, his sprints and jumps will always be motivational to me, he is way further than anyone i know including myself + he have very good upper body explosiveness and power. Check his videos, he know what he talk about.

    Leg training releases a lot of growth hormones as leg muscles are the biggest muscle groups in our bodies, so i'm saying that because of those growth hormones, leg training improves your upper body alot too. Respect to Adam

  • @Asabado
    @Asabado  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Balzzar is right man, its just maths and physics. Of course heavier and more trained lower body makes everything like bw upper body conditioning way harder. Why you thing gymnasts can jump a shit? Why you thing whole community is chicken legs without any serious leg work. I cant do even half tricks and moves as they do, but i dont care, because I train my body as one entity and upper without lower means nothing to me. People like balzzar inspire me way more than any no leg trianing skinny kids.

  • @Asabado
    @Asabado  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    alot moves in calisthenics are much easier when u are shorter and lighter, its just math and physics facts.. leverages on moves with shorter arms and total pulled weight makes a big difference, thats why we dont see tall and heavy gymnasts and there are never tall big people doing pull ups easy.. :)) unless they work really hard for it :)))

  • @Asabado
    @Asabado  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    lmao its weighted calisthenics - using calisthenics moves with your body but adding weight to get even stronger. Its same as weighted pull ups, dips, pushups.. squats are moving your body in space witch is calisthenics. Adding weight changes the intensity. wake up mortal

  • @Asabado
    @Asabado  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I dont do calisthenics but, i’ve been working on Gym for past 2 months now with My friend, we bodybuilding, and our PR’s keep increasing, so we decided to look for our Leg PR’s. We did leg press, and put 265kg on it That was so much could barely do 1 rep, so did 8 reps, and got a nosebleed due to the pressure.
    Leg day best day!

    Hello adam, I have a serious question regarding the pistols, in what position should my spine be in? neutral? I find it very difficult to position my spine in a neutral position during pistol squats, and I dont think its a good idea to add weight with an arched back, how do you do it? i cant tell from the video, if you could make a tutorial about it I would very much appreciate it. thanks!

    anyone still not sure how to tackle legs on a bodyweight style routine. use hills use resistance bands jump up hills do broad jumps 2 foot 1 foot. tuck junmps. knee get ups. split jumps. lunges and squats with resistance on hills. add a 10kg sandbag and hold that as you jump. leg training isnt about time under tension most importantly. it is about coordinated response. explosive reactivity. plyometric in a sense. remember hills and stairs are you best friend. EVERYTHING IS HARDER UPHILL

    I myself have put together a pistol squat variations quickee the other day too here on TH-cam:) good to see, I am not alone with using weights... people keep telling me I am killing my knee joints. What do you think about it? Sometimes I hate pistols, other times I like playing eg. mixing the movement of squat with different pushups and jumps:) Although I do Calisthenics, I train legs also with weighted squats and some other (mostly functional) weighted exercises. Keep it up and keep it slow, right now I am finally able to do pistols and natural leg curls(raises), all you need is to start with some prehab work for your knees and ankles, you ll find plenty on the web and start slowly with basics. He's not forcing anyone, he's being helpful, besides he's right! You should train legs for a more complete body.. It all works together and the stronger your legs get, the stronger your overall strength becomes. The core is also important since it makes upper and lower body coordinate with eachother better. Furthermore training legs is proven to improve upper body muscle growth by 30% due to testosterone release. Your choice to only do the job half though :) Good luck!

  • @konoyarobakayaro6120
    @konoyarobakayaro6120 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It doesn't matter how heavy the legs are, if the lower body is strong you can hold those static holds better than someone with only upper body strength. Take Adam for example, if he wanted he could probably outlast any of those chickenleg mofos, purely because his legs are strong as fuck. People think those exercises are about upper body because it looks that way, but they are mostly core, lower back and lower body that are used to balance.

    Hi Adam Raw, it is a long time im following you in your videos as you inspire me pretty well, want to get better day to day - train to train. I become calm when i see you train legs too (you don't really used to show it in your vids), it is so good to see it, becouse it is that rare. :) well done! I can only suggest to train the hamstrings too, in the gymnastics bodies book there are pretty good examples how to do it (altough you train them with the jumping pistols too) - it is up to you now.

  • @TheThunderwars
    @TheThunderwars 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love you guy that's exactly what I was Thinking ... in "methode lafay" we think that lower body and upper body must be in the same shape, because if not you'll not be wealthy . To motivate you, know that quadriceps are one of the biggest muscle in human body, so it makes great anabolitic and hormonal response . No more chicken legs in calisthenics !

  • @carrotfarmer1552
    @carrotfarmer1552 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Don't jump right into them. Build up a solid foundation through light jogging, assisted airsquats, and slowly put more and more weight on a single leg, till you can finally execute a perfect pistol squat. And do them slowly with lots of time under tension, in order to develop stronger joint-, ligament- and tendon-strength.

  • @Necronomicus1
    @Necronomicus1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    People try to avoid legs from two reasons. 1st they are too narcissus and would like to pump their biceps or chest and after that they usually staring in the mirror hours.. 2nd to train legs properly is by far the hardest training ever.. We all know it :) Anyway hope at least part of chicken legs people will separate to you/us :)

  • @uRaDipShit1635

    With such beast pistol squats, you have to make a tutorial on them! This honestly for me at least is the hardest calisthenics exercise that ive encountered besides the more advanced techniques. Hell, doing muscle ups and flag poling are easier than doing a single pistol squat.

  • @konoyarobakayaro6120
    @konoyarobakayaro6120 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Actually, the stronger your legs and core are, the easier it is to hold a planche. But I do agree and find it ridiculous that people don't train the legs. What's a tank without tracks? what's a car without wheels? what's a ship without sails? what's a man with no balls?

  • @Underheaven8
    @Underheaven8 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Legs are too powerful to get a proper workout with just ones own bodyweight. They are designed to carry a lot of extra load on the person.
    Just do normal squats with a loaded bar or something. Why limit oneself to just using ones own body when ones own body is not limited to carry just itself only?

  • @bbartje01
    @bbartje01 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You first need to rehab your knee area then. Start for example with 2 legged box squats (you can use a computer chair) and then slower lower the box (chair) When 2 legged squats go easy. you can start doing one legged pistol squats and then lower the box and eventually do it without the box

    Working out the legs burns way more calories than working out the upper body, simply because you have more muscles in your legs... Your quadriceps are way bigger than your triceps, aren't they?!
    Great video Adam, as usual. Don't stop! :)

  • @Kratoni
    @Kratoni 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good message. Not training the lower body surely helps with the upper body skills... but are you training to learn skills or get stronger? By adding mass to your legs you make the upper body work harder on many BW skills which will make you stronger.
