All magic should be janky "I constructed this with great pains and copied no one" style table magic. And I will Brawl with anyone, even in a Blizzard, who says different.
I WILL manage it! Currently working on a Akiri/Sakashima partner commander deck that will allow me to flood the board with Kaldra avatar tokens because they only cost 1 to create.
One of my very first decks was all about getting a Feral Shadow, an Urborg Panther and a Breathstealer into play so I can FINALLY get that lone copy of Spirit of the Night and start doing something worthwhile. Fun times!
Wow I thought The Unspeakable / Sift Through Sands was the only combo-summoning MtG cycle. That's wicked- I want to see the two decks featured in a Duel Deck set. Or print some new decks with the 'Exodia' ability.
My favourite thing about Kaldra is that in the Mirrodin novel, as soon as it gets summoned, the bad guy casts a spell to take control of it. Which is quite realistic
@@falsnamae3511 One mana? I suppose there's a chance you won't have that, but that's the cheapest counterspell ever. (And if you somehow don't have it, you can still resummon Kaldra next turn and at least have Kaldra even if your opponent also got a 4/4 out of it.)
Man I love this song, there's some serious feels in this one. It really pulls at the heartstrings of the nostalgia of Magic and the joy of just playing what you love :)
The intro reminds me of a 7 card combo I noticed in Scars of Mirrodin block to hit with a 10/9 infect goblin on turn 1 with Chancellor of the Forge, Tainted strike, a swamp, and 4 copies of mutagenic growth. Friend: Explains why their homebrew is amazing because it has a seven card combo that depends on their opponent(s) not having any interaction and if successful might not even necessarily win on the spot. Me: Sounds good.
This actually is extremely touching to me, and has such a deep meaning. I really think people take the game way too seriously and forget to have fun sometimes. It reminds me of when me, my brother and our two best childhood friends played. Me and one friend only wanted to have fun and screwed up the game with wacky nonsense while my brother and his friend only cared about winning. Well guess who quit playing, and only collects now? Definitely not me! I have a Gyrus Corpsewaker/Rikk-Jikki combination that is nuts! Especially since I pulled Valki and threw him in there for no reason! Hehe

Shit, if I start going off and look like I have a chance, I start shaking with excitement a bit 😂 I can't tell you how many times I've used a card "because I like it". If we play more games, cool, we get to play more games
Funnily enough, doesn't die to doom blade. The equipment is attached to the token before priority is passed, unless it's being attached to a creature on the battlefield.
One of my former magic buddy's had a white and blue brisella deck when we first began playing and when they got melted we were like: "it's done. We lost. How can u ever beat this?" Today I laughed my ass off :D Thank u for this amazing vid!

I always felt like the young kid i was while trying to make some weird ass deck, it reminds me those evening passed with my little brother when we were just kids trying to make the best deck ever, in the end they were utterly bad, but we had much fun. On a side note, i knew you actually was pretty good at music, but you actually have a very nice voice !
but wait, the doomblade wont save him, the kaldra player can pay 1 and create the token which gets equiped as part of the resolution of the effect so there is no window for the doomblade. Also the Kaldra player can keep paying 1 to create a new token whenever needed.
@@shirogamiakatsuki2423 well no! Kaldra's Helm text reads : (1): If you control an Equipment named Helm of Kaldra, Sword of Kaldra, and Shield of Kaldra, create Kaldra, a legendary 4/4 colorless Avatar creature token. Attach those Equipment to it. So there isn't an equip ability ever on the stack for you to respond to! You don't get to act in response to the second part of that ability (before the equipment is attached). @@eleventoes4421 The Kaldra token gets automatically equipped with all the pieces upon resolution of the ability. There is no window between the token being created and the equipments being attached, since it's all one ability and players don't get priority in between the resolution of an ability (with the single exception of Panglacial Wurm because it's a messed up Magic card). What I'm assuming is happening in the video is that Decksperado is literally attempting to equip all the pieces to different creature instead of activating Helm of Kaldra's ability. Why? Well, he is the Decksperado after all. But he should feel so sad; he can still keep pumping out Kaldra tokens every time he has a mana available.

As a Commander player this makes me wanna play with Door To Nothingness again... I wanna find some cool combo with it where you can copy the trigger and kill everyone in one go

A friend and me once did a wierd eye of the storm deck. It also won a game. Beating the opponent with utility creatures and good blockers while he flooded, not assembling any combo. It feelt wierd.
This video speaks to me and calls me out at the same time. All magic should be janky "I constructed this with great pains and copied no one" style table magic. And I will Brawl with anyone, even in a Blizzard, who says different.
i love how excited he looks when showing off what his strategy is
“You better stop assembling Kaldra” has been stuck in my head for a week. Well done Remy! Your songs are the best.
Fun times!
I was that guy too!
Dang it now I've got to play this in a deck
Wow I thought The Unspeakable / Sift Through Sands was the only combo-summoning MtG cycle. That's wicked- I want to see the two decks featured in a Duel Deck set.
Or print some new decks with the 'Exodia' ability.
@@CityState_of_Valletta The herald cycle from Alara isn’t the exact same since it doesn’t care about what’s being sacrificed, but it’s close!
My favourite thing about Kaldra is that in the Mirrodin novel, as soon as it gets summoned, the bad guy casts a spell to take control of it.
Which is quite realistic
Me in modern when I get a Kaldra down and they have archmages charm
I think you can react to that by re-summoning Kaldra and letting the copy that was about to be controlled die to the legends rule, though.
@@falsnamae3511 One mana? I suppose there's a chance you won't have that, but that's the cheapest counterspell ever. (And if you somehow don't have it, you can still resummon Kaldra next turn and at least have Kaldra even if your opponent also got a 4/4 out of it.)
Remy u need to make a series of deck techs with all of those u have shown in your videos starting with 5c Kobolds.
You have looked, but have not seen
Man I love this song, there's some serious feels in this one. It really pulls at the heartstrings of the nostalgia of Magic and the joy of just playing what you love :)
The intro reminds me of a 7 card combo I noticed in Scars of Mirrodin block to hit with a 10/9 infect goblin on turn 1 with Chancellor of the Forge, Tainted strike, a swamp, and 4 copies of mutagenic growth. I still kind of regret never even trying it. It isn't as cool as an 8 card combo, but I always thought it was a neat theoretical combo.
... real talk that's a better idea for a deck than the last deck I built 😅
Remmy: I have a doomblade
Decksperado: O.K. Kaldra is indestructible...
So sad too.... The punchline would still be funny if it was Merciless Eviction or something that actually worked
And even if Kaldra wasn't, you just pay 1 and make another
the thing all 3 of you are missing is that he doombladed kaldra as a response to her being equipped. equipping goes on the stack and therefor she isnt indestructible yet.
@@restoshammy0863 you can't do that here as he isn't activating the equip ability. Part of the ability says to equip the armor to Kaldra, and nobody gets priority unless the ability ends
@@patrickseelye1485 i cant seem to find a ruling on the matter, as far as im aware if the card says "equip" it follows the rules for equip as for 702.6a Equip is an activated ability of Equipment cards. “Equip [cost]” means “[Cost]: Attach this permanent to target creature you control. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery.” and activated abilities go on the stack.
This speaks directly to my jank-heart.
Shared with my local MTG group to try and get this out there. Very fun little song and loved the lyrics, singing, and video production. All around well made, you should be very proud! 👍
Friend: Explains why their homebrew is amazing because it has a seven card combo that depends on their opponent(s) not having any interaction and if successful might not even necessarily win on the spot.
Me: Sounds good.
Thats my bolas citadel deck so far
The timing on 'Mindslaver...myself' is just fantastic.
Hehe
This...this is me in my EDH Group. I just like to play Magic. Don't care if I win.
My thoughts as well
One of my former magic buddy's had a white and blue brisella deck when we first began playing and when they got melted we were like: "it's done. We lost. How can u ever beat this?"
Today I laughed my ass off :D
Thank u for this amazing vid!
This song got played at my dad's funeral. I actually love the johnny cash version, but I have to say your voice really fits the feeling well. Good job
Thanks a lot for these great vidéos !
And also, thanks for making me discover some great songs/classics I missed
I have never in my life related to a song so deeply. Moving stuff Remy
Oh Decksperado, I kinda lived your dream last night! I was playing my Gitrog Monster EDH deck, and using Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord I threw Marit Lage at my opponent twice!
been waiting for so long for a new one, cant wait for the next now :D
Truly a magic lover, always have been trying to jank those weird deck myself. What's fascinating about MTG is that you're enjoying the building process as much as playing.
He's right :0
lol kaldra is indestructable
@@neilstinston1457 Maybe his deck is about equiping puresteel paladin or something
Actually, the Doom Blade would work. You just need to cast the Doom Blade in response to Decksperado when he equip the Kaldra
But even if you could, and the doom blade resolved, your OP could just pay 1 mana at any time to make another kaldra!
YEESSS it's so great to finally catch one of these as it's released. I've only recently found out about this channel and you're the best! :D
Here's a proposal I happened to be thinking right this morning: "We will rock you" except it's "we will swarm you" with Scute Swarm exponential landfall triggers and other similar shenanigans (i.e. "I will ignore your Jace. Go for your face. After I mutate all over the place")
That Kaldra part keeps getting me, I was actually running a kaldra deck for fun in EDH around the time I first heard this.
Your Pepe fits the mood. ^^
"Mindslaver... myself" makes me need to know the deck strategy here
Go Remy go - awesome content - love the voice, humor and all togheter vibe of your Videos
The life of a Johnny. It doesn't matter if I win, but HOW I win
The life of a Timmy: “Winning would be nice, but I’m just here to do fun things.”
Oh they finally let you upload this! Excellent.
My secret Kaldra commander deck would like to speak with you.
Is it bad I kinda wanna try Merit Lage Fling now?
If you've never decided not to kill your opponent so your combo can actually go off, then you wouldn't understand.
Marit Lage fling? 5 color kobolds? monowhite door to nothingness?
I need those decklists!
It happened to all of us so many times! Great performance btw.
the walk away at the end always kills me, that's my favorite detail XD
2:12 wait but doesn’t the shield give Kaldra indestructible so doom blade wouldn’t work
I know this is an old comment but-
Equip abilities are added onto the stack, so he could doom blade kaldra before they equip
It'd be futile still since he can just pay 1 to get him back but yeah
@@eleventoes4421 that makes sense. Thanks man
@@eleventoes4421 The Kaldra token gets automatically equipped with all the pieces upon resolution of the ability.
I'm really glad that I found this channel. I know it's small, but it touches big!
Mono white door to nothingness has really gotten a boost this past year or 2 with all the white catch up ramp that searches for plains cards. Combine that with some bounce lands.
I am that Decksperado. I just finished making a mono-green Thrasta Modern deck.
Everything that isn't Thrasta aims to get Thrasta out on turn 2. Very unreliable, but I've got it to work twice already!
"Marit Lage Fling" actually sounds like a viable way to win in a blue-red deck. Sure, it is a three card combo, but still...
Dark depths, fling, and whats the third card?
@@tonnoka Thespian Stage.
@@tonnoka aether snap would also work
Sending this to my play group. They’ll know who it is.
He has a doom blade? Your creatures go kaboom!!
Heh, it's funny... I remember how much more I enjoyed mtg before I discovered "meta" and all those uberpowerful tournament decks. How cool was discovering things on my own and experimenting with my own ideas. Ignorance is sometimes truly a bliss...
another masterpiece by remy! 10 years back when i tried to force every ridicilous combo in standard... yeah hits me right in the feels xD
These decks are basically my last couple relationships...man, you hit me in the feels with the line about the good decks at the table...
I never got to see this originally glad it's back
Ok but managing to flashback an approach of the second sun is very admirable, would love to see that decklist
If you do it, you wont win. But... Will you exile the card or put it in as number seven? I had mine discarded once and got curious.
@@erikohman2294 Oh.
@@erikohman2294 You will exile it
Baseball hat Remy is the player we all sort of wish we could go back to being. I try to retain that spark.
Remy the vocals are off the hook! You can crush a power ballad!
That Doom Blade at the end killed me XD
But it didn't kill Kaldra, because of indestructible.
Thought this was going to be a despacito parody. Not sure if I’m pleased or dissapointed
Me to
Little did he know, 6 months later, his dream would come true and Kaldra would be assembled.
Don't listen to this song, build wathever you like playing.
1:50 Hahaha. i know someone will like this.
lol'd at "Mindslaver myself."
waaaaait a minute:
if the ability of helm of kaldra resolves, it creates the token and instantly attaches all 3 equipments, of which the shield says the equipped creature is indestructible , so doomblade wouldnt work except when he activeley equips the artifacts on another creature...
As a Commander player this makes me wanna play with Door To Nothingness again... I wanna find some cool combo with it where you can copy the trigger and kill everyone in one go
"The Primeval one is always your best bet"
Cries in commander.
Watching this masterpiece literally made me cry, I have a friend who does exactly the same thing and plays what he wants, and now we rarely play together anymore because he says the decks I play are too strong. Sigh...
1:33 what a magic trick
IT'S BACK!!!! SO HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO ADD IT TO THE PLAYLIST!!!!
I didn't knew this video was banned in the US, always great job and quality ! I hope it won't discourage you to make more songs
I listened this one not only as a parody but because it's beautiful ^^
New Remy video! Another happy day!!
This was me when Tolarian Academy first came out.
This is the first time notice mono white door to nothingness 😂😂
"mono white door to nothingness" remains one of the funniest phrases i've ever heard. just more difficult for absolutely no reason
Dude, you are such a good singer. :D
Mono-White Door to Nothingness running 4x Chromatic Lantern.
5 color Kobolds is hilarious!
Genuinely I will never stop thinking about the fact that doomblade doesn't kill Kaldra. Tortured by this knowledge
Remy often does this to mess with us. xD
I’ll have you know my deck based entirely around flinging gingerbrutes, works perfectly fine. It even won ... a game.
A friend and me once did a wierd eye of the storm deck. It also won a game. Beating the opponent with utility creatures and good blockers while he flooded, not assembling any combo. It feelt wierd.
I am totally a decksperado. I love playing gimmick decks and stuff i find fun, even though im never going to win xD great job Remy on this song.
Mindslaver yourself is such a powermove.
Marit Lage Fling actually sounds like my kind of jank ngl
Not gonna lie
Of all of your parodies this one is probably the most me.
Even the guy playing the doomblade looked so sad
This video speaks to me and calls me out at the same time. I've virtually stopped playing MTG after I realized how stubborn I was, doing nothing but forcing jank or building high-theme, low-power decks, and having no fun the few times I played practically or within a meta. It was more trouble and money than it was worth, ultimately. This Decksperado janked his last.
The Johnny in me feels personally attacked XD
Rock on Remy rock on
My bestfriend plays exactly like this. I showed him this song and got a good laugh.
