Yes sir, prime cottonmouth haven there! We are 100 miles southeast of you and I don't break out the Conibears until January. Nothing like studying a dam and seeing one of the big limbs on top of the dam slide off and swim away!
Enjoyed watching that one. That machine is priceless in that situation. Almost seemed like a bottomless mess for awhile there. You were moving incredible amounts of mud/debris.
Good way to pull out a beaver dam. Two sticks of dynamite 30 years ago pushed down about 6 feet into the beaver dam did the trick too. Fixed a flooded 600 acres so we could go back in and hunt whitetail deer. Glad to see that bank held up for you to do your thing. Doing good work.
Beavers can cause a tremendous amount of grief for land owners and turn a nice stream into a miserable swamp in a year or 2. Good job clearing things out. 👍👍 Should have added, that no beavers were injured in the making of this video.
Animals sometimes amaze me. Give a team of the world's best human engineers the materials and equipment the beavers have, and they would certainly fail to make what these animals have done.
Seem that you could pipe water out to irrigate other fields. California found that letting fields flood improved yield. Maybe pumping it to other fields would improve there ability to produce crops!
The Texas parks and Wildlife dept in my area released alligators into the creeks to deal with the beavers. it works but now you might have a gator in your back yard.
That has sure allowed a good deal of water to drain off but Imagine there are likely many more dams in that area to really make some significant headway to draining some of those areas. By the way what do those cottonwood snakes live off for food - just vurious?
they can rebuild that in a night or 2 I busted our dam out every day for months to dry the land enough to expose everything. we trapped 25 beavers and burned 3 huts before we got it to the point where i could keep the creek down to the point where i could blow the dam
To bad you didn't have a 100 to 200 sized machine with wide tracks you could have put more of a hurting on that, more reach more depth and bigger bucket.
funny you said you would get lots of comments on this one. Sometimes we as viewers love to give our perspective on things. once in a while it is helpful but most often we forget the content provider has way more years experience than we ever will have and is doing things for a reason. Me... I will pick up info as I can but I just like watching someone leave the land in better shape than when they found it. I told a couple of my hunting friends that hunt with me on my ground that isn't it funny how, as long as they have been coming here, there are never any limbs or trees across the paths we drive on. !! freak of nature I guess. in other words, how about stopping once in a while and pick up a limb across the trail instead of leaving it for the landowner. :-)
I was hoping to see you pull out the surfboard and ride the rapids. Lol. I'm 60 years old and been fighting them on my property even as far back when I was a little boy and doing it with my dad. And they are still here working harder than ever. This is a once a year thing here also.
Be still filling in the 'drainage' application paperwork around here to be allowed to put the excavator bucket in the creek (and pay fees). The 'drainage' application would have likely needed to include a cultural impact assessment (written report) from the authorised first nation person/s that the dirt mover needs to pay for. This approach to the environment is spreading, so find out who your authorised first nation people are before you need them to rubber stamp your dirt moving. (Been happening with drainage pump systems being upgraded to really expensive ones that don't chop up the edible eels etc)
Water drain off is much better now, war with beaver's never ending, video again in about January and show us again how they build back... also great excavator work and not getting yourself in a bad spot...
9/11 made dam not near as much fun as it was when the average citizen could go buy kinepak from Amory Sand and Gravel by just showing your driver's license! I have blown my share
Excellent video congratulations from Aotearoa (New Zealand)
I always enjoy watching beaver dams being ripped out.

Very good operator I like seeing those full buckets every time.
That mini excavator you bought was the best money you ever spent👍👍👍😎
It has def worked well for me.
Nice job Tim

It does a good job

Nice job u did there and u be safe and be careful buddy
You are one hard working fella and thank you for the video.
Still happy with the Jawbone? There is just something so satisfying about watching the water start to flow!
For my application and how I use it, yes I like it a lot
Seem that you could pipe water out to irrigate other fields. California found that letting fields flood improved yield. Maybe pumping it to other fields would improve there ability to produce crops!
I would be afraid the banks would give away, you are a lot braver than me. Nice seeing the water flowing

Im in Tyler, haven’t heard that till now, that’s nuts
@@tonyanderson6493 I'm in Jacksonville, and haven't heard of it either. Hard to decide which is worse.
I have done that by hand to have the beavers to cut down our corn 🌽 and build it back over night. They are amazing creatures.
Beaver #1: ???
Beaver #2: Cotontop.
Beaver #1: Dam.
Beavers are such destructive animals. They can wreck a swamp.
Not much to do with beaver dans.....but, how do you deal with poison ivy and poison sumac? ? ? ? ? That would be interesting......La Grange Texas
Rubbing alcohol keeps it off.
This is one of those videos that might get you more work...
Nice to have big equipment for this.
Been looking at the kubota excavator like you have. How many hours you have on it now and have you had anything wrong with it since you purchased it?
Right at 600 and so far I haven’t done a thing to it but run it.
@@cotontop3 thank you sir!
Reminds me of the first few videos from letsdig18
Hello there Mr Tim.✌️👍
Beavers were reintroduced to Scotland about a decade ago, numbers doubled to over 1000 in the 1st 3 years!
Beaver barbeque is delicious!
@@cathiwim I love eating beaver.

Frogs, fish or anything like that.
*Cottonmouth
Good job Tim, the waters flow freely again:):)
I sure didn't know that they would cause a man problems like this, just crazy how smart the animals are tho! Ky. 🤝🙏🇺🇸

Man you got a lot of play toys! You gotta love going to work everyday. You probably have to so you can keep on making those payments.
Boa noite muito top serviço máquina meu amigo
Those are some STEEP and SLIPPERY banks you're working off, Cotton! Be safe!
And thanks for the voice-over explanations. 😉
All them beavers in the background saying it like Arnold Schwarzenegger " We'll Be Back! "
Lol, it’ll make an ongoing video series, “war with beavers” lol

♥️♥️♥️💪💪💪💪💪
I'm an Aussie and am curious to know if you guys eat beaver meat.........Cheers.
Maybe you need to post some signs, No BEAVERS Allowed.
That beaver is one passed off suckered. Lol.
Drain da swamp!
For the beaver dam you need a super stick to extend your reach. Dirt Perfect has used it for ripping out beaver dams.
He doesn’t need a stick, done just fine
if a person was to trap or shoot a beaver in there today by this time the next day there will be 5 move in there
