    Why does and what is the 2 shift "levers" for? I know obviously the one is for p.r.n.1.2. But whats the other one for? I can hear it doing something in there. Just want to make sure before ruining something

    Good Content Very Informative.I've got one of the AirCooled Glides and I'd like to do the JW UltraBell. What do you Reckon is a Reasonable Cost for that, and adding the Cooler hookups/ circuitry? Thx DKZ

    Can you do a video on powerglide servo designs and aftermarket options?

    Is there a difference in powerhandeling between the stockcase and/or the stockcase with the 4 holes. I have one that have the oil colinglines and the 4 holes. I only wonder about the horepower handeling.

    I am currently building a powerglide for a close friend, im wondering where the case casting numbers are? I see people claiming on the stock pan but this pan is aftermarket, it doesnt say powerglide on side of transmission like i have seen some do, but there are multiple stampings on the casting piece off the drivers side rear of case if you are looking down at trans it is right near where the trans break servo goes its almost a square that hangs off the transmission but its part of the casting

    Hey I have a rebuild powerglide transmission. I install it in the car and went to turn the drive shaft to tighten the drive shaft bolts, but the tail shaft is hard to spend. what could be the problem?

    I've got a Stock case powerglide that had a large crack in the bell house from a crash that happened. Was wondering if it would be possible to replace the bell house and salvage the case?

    • @HughesPerformance
      @HughesPerformance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. JW Performance bellhousing part number 92450 will get you fixed up.

      @@HughesPerformance Great so even with the case being a one piece case this application will work?

    • @HughesPerformance
      @HughesPerformance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, the JW bellhousing is designed for you to cut off the OEM bellhousing from the transmission case and then bolt on the JW bellhousing to the front pump using the longer front pump bolts supplied with the bellhousing.

    Recommend mid-plate for 1000hp street cars?

      It can't hurt, but it's not absolutely necessary.

    What is the difference in a torque converter set up for 1/8 mile vs 1/4 mile. Mine was set up for 1/8 mile now I want to run 1/4 mile
    800 HP turbo 400 .456 on 32x15 slicks. 6500 RPM before end of 1/4 run.

    • @HughesPerformance
      @HughesPerformance  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some builders may opt to build a converter with a higher vane count stator and/or more negative fin angle in the impeller in order to have the converter provide sufficient stall speed & launch RPM with the reduced load created against the converter by the numerically higher rear gear ratios that are commonly used by 1/8-mile racers. If a dedicated 1/8-mile car is being converted to run 1/4-mile, you may need a converter adjustment as well as a rear gear ratio change to optimize the combination for 1/4-mile racing.

    • @thomasking5773
      @thomasking5773 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HughesPerformance I'm going to convert to 1/4 mile. also I'm going with a power glide with a converter for such.. Thank you and I will call.

      No nesasery, but I used one because of the stress that you put on block. Caused by the side mounted engine mounts.

    Disappointing. Based on the video title, I expected to see all cases from inception starting with the cast iron case, which is what I was interested in. Had I known this was only about aluminum cases, I would not have spent the time watching this.
