Finally! A useful video! I've been trying for so long to see if I can find a video for making fire for mini's and I found one that's actually useful! thank you so much, very much help
Thank you for this video. Will try it and I might suggest varnish the dried glue with clear varnish. It might help with colours to stick to the dried glue. Thanks once again.
After seeing this I wanna go back and redo one of my old dioramas. I did an old Ral Partha mini called Bridge of Sorrows in the late 80s, of a dragon attacking attacking a centaur and a wizard on a bridge and I wanted the dragon breathing fire. To do so I took some paper clips, and shaped them into the fire I wanted and super glued them together. Then I covered them with cotton balls and glued that on with watered pva so I could texture it into the flames I wanted. Then I drilled a small in its mouth so I could glue the wire armature on it then painted it. But after seeing this I wish I had thought to use hot glue instead to make the fire look more real and stand out more. I may just go back to give it a better upgraded look. The only problem I see with this tho is it needs a base to support the flimsiness of the hot glue. It flops around to much without a base. It's like you need something to support it if the flames are to be suspended in the air off the ground or a base. But I'm definitely going to redo the dragon breath and recover the wire armature with hot glue to improve on the one I already have
Sorry for the late response. You can paint it right away, that way the colors blend a little and if you over do you can always go back to the other color and do retouched
You are a genius. I’m marking a mini for my party mate and this will make it so much cooler. Thank you!
