Hi, thanks for your video and your honest review! It's really helpful. Just wondering, as I'm thinking about taking my grandmother there, may I ask do you think the roads there were easy to walk? Were there a lot of steps? Thanks!
Hi there :) So it really depends what area of the property you stay in - when we were there the walking area is pretty uneven and you have to take a very bumpy truck ride to the office/restaurant area. It might be better if you ask to get booked in a villa as close to the office as you can! I think these were called the Mountain View villas! :)
We are going to Thailand in November 2024 and will be visiting an elephant sanctuary! Enjoyed seeing your experience and now we are pumped! New sub and friend. Look forward to watching more of your content!
Please read the list of ethical sanctuaries. The lack of knowledge is why elephants remain abused in Asia. In my life of travels ( over 60 countries) and experiences... i will never accept or understand the elephant abuse mentality. I do understand poverty, culture, villages unmapped ..its a complex topic. However i do not understand how anyone can love elephants and pay to ride them. To bathe with them. I absolutely do not understand how people do not know Elephant Tourism keeps them abused.
Check out Elephant Nature Park and Lek Chailert. She just won am award for ethical Sanctuary and saving over 100 elephants. See SaveElephantFoundation. ❤
@@avs6372 The conversation you are replying to is referencing an ethical elephant sanctuary that rescues elephants. I would never ride the animals for recreational purposes.
Ok ok I swear I’ll stop asking you questions soon 😂 but seriously you’ve been a HUGE help so thank you! Was there any traffic going there or back? I want to catch a flight the morning I check out after breakfast with elephants. And how long was the breakfast/feeding with Elephants? Do you schedule the time you want? Thanks!!!
No worries!💛so we just organized transportation through Chai Lai to pick us up in Chiang Mai - we didn’t hit any traffic and it was about an hour each way! (Hope this isn’t too late & hope you have the best time!☺️)
No this is the only one! They have 3 different areas - Mountain View, river side, and garden view though so maybe it depends which of those areas you stay?
Do you feel you could have done a day excursion with no sleep over or was the sleep over worth it because of being able to feed the elephants in the am from your bungalow? Thanks! Looks like they have diff types of bungalows. Yours was prob the one left since they get booked fast. That’s my situation right now this type of bungalow is the only kind left. I wanted the bigger one. So deciding if I should just not stay the night do a day excursion or stay one night.
Personally I would recommend the sleep over! Only because a lot of people did the day trip and those times were super busy and hard to have some one on one time with the elephants - so in my opinion it's worth it to have that alone time with them in the morning!
@@RaarupAdventures I really want to do this but I would rather have the other bungalow. The only one available at the moment is one at the village? Not on site. Boo 😢
@@allthingsreview777 there were usually some staff around, so we would just go talk to them and tell them & they’d usually have a ride ready in about 10 minutes! :)
Wonderful video, it brought a tear to my eye watching those incredible land giants. Does that sanctuary do day trips? Considering options/alternatives to the elephant Sanctuary (Chiang Mai). Ps. Love your content, keep up the great work xx

@@RaarupAdventures I booked and thank you!!!!!!
Hi! I want to go to Chai Lai Orchid and spend a night there. I'm curious, did you feel the elephant is working or are they free to roam around?
These elephants are free to roam around! They each have a mahout that stays with them/feeds them/takes care of them, but these elephants do not work
Hi! Did the truck you took when you arrived to Chiang Mai to Chai Lai was organized by them or how did you set that up?
Yes they organized it for us! We had to pay for it but we just had them arrange it both ways and it went super smooth!
Hi! Is this the garden view?
Hey yes it was!
Your accommodations seemed different from other videos. Are there diff chai lai orchids?
No this is the only one! They have 3 different areas - Mountain View, river side, and garden view though so maybe it depends which of those areas you stay?
@@RaarupAdventures do you get to choose? Thanks
@@allthingsreview777 we didn’t have the option to but I’m sure you could call or message them beforehand to see the availability they have!
@@RaarupAdventures interesting. Thank u!!
Hey! Do you think one night there was plenty? Or would you have done more if given the opportunity?
Personally looking back I would do 2 nights because it’s a bit of a journey for just one night 😅and they have a lot of activities you could add on!
Hey did you get any lizards coming in the room or just bugs?
We didn’t see any lizards but the holes were definitely big enough for lizards 😆

Thanks for the great video. Where is the location of this Karen Village and how far from Chailai orchid?
I’m not sure exactly where because they drove us there - but it was about 20 minutes from the Chailai Orchid!
Hey sorry for so many questions! But thank u for answering ❤ was your bungalow off the main property and you had to be driven there?
No worries! Yes we had to be driven there and back anytime we wanted to visit the cafe or office
