My husband and I purchased and moved into an older (built in the 1950s) home at the beginning of August. It is also a very small home (970 square feet ~ according to the real estate listing although we firmly believe it is even smaller than that). It has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, so as you might imagine, all of the rooms are pretty tiny and storage | closet space is minimal at best. Today while watching your video I decided to pause long enough to go into our guest bedroom and do some rearranging in the closet. This particular closet holds all of my husband's clothes and it has a minimal storage organizing system installed with hanging rods (top and bottom) on both the left and right side and then a shelving piece in the middle. And then at the top (above both upper hanging rods) there are wire shelves. Being that the primary purpose of this room is as a guest bedroom, I wanted to use a few of the middle cubby shelves to hold the seasonal bedding for this specific room. By doing this it also helped to clean up some of the mess in the first bedroom (that literally became a catch all space for everything in life we don't use on a regular basis and that we didn't have room for anywhere else in the house) which I would love to be able to eventually convert into a laundry room that is currently housed in a dark and depressing utility closet space right off the kitchen. My husband isn't a huge fan of completely eliminating the third bedroom space thereby turning the house into a 2 bedroom, 1 bath home ~~ but honestly, with only 970 square feet and one itty bitty bathroom, I don't think it is a huge downfall to go from a 3 bed, 1 bath to a 2 bed, 1 bath. Just my opinion!! And if someone wanted the third bedroom space, it could easily be converted back again.
My goodness! I can only imagine how small the rooms might feel. My husband and I lived in a 800 square foot apartment which was only 1 bedroom and we could barely fit our bed in there. I agree with you on taking down the wall🩷 but I can also understand keeping it. I always say to do whatever works best for *you* because everyone has different circumstances. 🩷☺️
Putting it in a pile definitely makes it sooooo satisfying! I'm glad you liked that! 🩷☺️ I wish I could save everything from each room just to see it all together, but I bring it to the donation center before starting a new room.
