    since i think there are missing BC, i tried these values and i got almost similar results as in the video:
    heated pipe inlet (1-6): velocity 0.001 m/s, temperature 400~450 K
    heated pipe outlet (1-6): temperature 400~450 K
    inlet: velocity 0.002 m/s, temperature 300 K
    outlet: temperature 300 K
    pipe wall, pipe wall shadow, wall fluid domain: material steel

    I don't understand the pipe wall, two fluid domains must have pipe walls with finite thickness. If we set up the pipe wall like the video, how to understand it with real world problem?

    • @AnsysTutor
      @AnsysTutor  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      for simplicity and to save the solution solving time, you can neglect the pipe wall thickness. If you want to simulate the real-life problem you can model it, no issue., but you will not get much more variations in result. Try in both cases.

    there are two bodies of different materials in contact with each other. One body is heated to a temperature of 200 degrees, and the other 20 degrees. How to make a thermal analysis in ANSYS to look at the temperature distribution and temperature stresses caused by heating a body with a temperature of 20, if a body with a temperature of 200 degrees cools down from contact with a body with a temperature of 20, as well as from contact with the environment?

      I know nothing about ansys. I ahve just started to learn it so as you guess i don't know why you doing extrude after sketch1 why not drawing sketch1 and 2 then extrude and other applications. so this is one of them of course. there are a lot of questions like this. I asked for you maybe tell while you are doing these things. somethings can be understood but some of them can't be. whatever i try memorize it :)

    • @AnsysTutor
      @AnsysTutor  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question Omer, As per your query, you can also do like that by creating two sketches and then extrude. I have created it to illustrate the creation of geometry in a convenient manner. you can also export geometry created in any other CAD designing software into ANSYS. As you are a beginner I will suggest you to go through "Cornell university Ansys and fluent tutorials", and first start from 2D simulations, then after that proceed to 3D problems. So that you can understand the concept behind this clearly. You can also ask in our TH-cam channel discussion page.

      Check the flow model, whether its Inviscid or laminar or turbulent. if it is inviscid then change it to laminar/ turbulent. If this is not the problem then check the cell zone condition, and check whether the flow domain are assigned as fluid or not.

For your information, I used the 18.2 version.

    • @AnsysTutor
      @AnsysTutor  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just ignore this warning, this generally comes if you have not assigned the domains as solid /liquid in the geometry modeling part (design modeler).This will not affect the result. The most important part is the assigning the solid /liquid domain in fluent cell zone . The error might you getting regarding failed mesh is due to the mesh restrictions if you are using a student version of ANSYS. If in your work ,no of elements are more than 5120000 then I will suggest to first reset the mesh and again mesh it with a large size cells so to get less elements.

    Hi everyone, my simulation does not converge after 1000 iterations, which I do wrong?. heated pipes 0.001 m/s T from 400K to 450K, other fl 0.02 m/s T=300k. Ok writing this I found the error, the velocity is 0.002 m/s, It converges after 200 iterations. Super thanks for the tutorial.
    PD Where do you use steel material? Why do not you use gravity? It is possible to apply a BC into the external fluid domain 1 of type shell wall with an imposed heat transfer coefficient? (sorry I'm cfd beginner)

    • @AnsysTutor

      the pipes are of steel material. sorry for the video editing error.

    • @AnsysTutor

      gravity generally applicable for problems in which there is a much variations in working fluid density, in the current case the variation is negligible, with gravity also you will get the same result .

    I can see "Reverse Flow" while you run calculations. Do you think that it will affect your Results? I saw many people on CFD Forums discussing about the Reverse Flow as it is an error/inaccuracy. It is not fully converged. I am new with CFD. So, your response will be highly appreciated!
    Thank you!

    • @AnsysTutor
      @AnsysTutor  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes reverse flow affects the solution ,try to avoid the reverse flow warning , but if its still present after a lots of iterations, and your result coming approximately same then no need to worry about reverse flow.

    • @AnsysTutor
      @AnsysTutor  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      not all solution need to be converged always , you can make the convergence very fast /delay by changing the convergence criteria. The iteration graph and results should be satisfactory .
