    Thank you so much for sharing your Photoshop tips. I am getting ready to launch a new etsy store selling clip art and i learnt the midjourney, upscale and background removal process but got stuck on how to tidy up the edges (i have no photoshop experience what soever). Ive watched so many TH-cam videos trying to find some tips and this has been by far the best. Thank you!!

    This is the first video I found that's somewhat useful. Thank you! I'm trying to turn pastel watercolour floral images into clip art but because some colours are very light (aka near white/cream/etc) it's super hard to get them separated from the background without manually erasing along each edge - which are A LOT for a flower bouquet. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out how people do it without spending an hour or two on a single clip art image. I can't be this stupid. XD

    I don't do a lot of editing/fixing images in Photoshop yet, but I'm wondering why you don't use a background remover?

    • @deewillis
      @deewillis  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you for commenting. That's a great question by the way. It boils down to personal preference. I just know how I can make it look versus a background remover. I think background removers are a great tool for those who are not all that designer savvy, but in my case it's different. I like to remove the things I want, not what the background removal tool wants, and sometimes they don't take enough from around the image and sometimes they take too much. If that makes any sense. But PSD just upgraded to v25 and I haven't had the chance to use the new tool inside of photoshop yet, but the previous version I didn't like it.

    Hi Dee, Thank you very much for the tutorial. I think I am doing something wrong. After I follow all the steps and export it. I open the file in paint use a paint bucket to and fill with black, there are a lot of dots all over the edges (like it has been airbrushed) where I used the refine brush to take out the white. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

    • @deewillis
      @deewillis  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much for the comment. I haven't heard of what you are describing. Something sounds wrong with a setting. Are you using paint or photoshop?

    • @iAnubisGod
      @iAnubisGod 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for the reply. I'm using photoshop. Following all the steps and then exporting the file. After I export the png I open it with microsoft paint and get the bucket to and fill the background with black to see if I missed anything. I see a ring of brush strokes and dots everywhere around the image. Is this just normal when you open a png in paint and fill the background? in paint? It looks okay in canva and photoshop. @@deewillis

    Do you upscale the Midjourney images before adding them to the 1500 x 1500 Photoshop file? The Midjourney images are only 1024 so I’m just wondering if that would make them lose quality if they are stretched to a bigger canvas without upscaling first. Appreciate the video!

    • @deewillis
      @deewillis  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I upscale the images before selling them and no it doesn’t lose quality.

    • @sosha883
      @sosha883 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What if you’re creating clipart from a midjourney image with several elements on the same image? When I crop the element I want, it’s blurry if I place it onto a 1500 x 1500 template because the starting image is so tiny. Is there an upscaler you recommend for smaller images? Thanks!

    • @deewillis
      @deewillis  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@sosha883 I don't use those. I don't create clipart in midjourney with several images because I use a prompt that gives me single images. If you see elements on your clipart that you want to use then try using a prompt that will give you single variations of that particular type of element.

    • @deewillis

      I keep the artwork in 300dpi upon export and it will also depend on how you create your clipart to begin with. I will make an in-depth video on exactly how I produce, edit and size my clipart for you 😊 be sure to subscribe to be notified.

    All these videos on making things to sell on ETSY is great but what they don't tell you is that it not as easy as it seems to sell in a VERY OVER SATURATED market for clip art, svg files etc etc...
    There are 100000s of these selling on ETSY... Good Luck!

    • @deewillis
      @deewillis  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thank you so much for the well wishes. Nobody should have to tell anyone that running a business is hard no matter what platform they use. Staring a business and growing one sure isn’t easy. I personally don’t believe in saturation because that’s subjective. I don’t believe 100000 shops even if they are selling the same thing comes close to the amount of people who shop on Etsy. Plus competition is good. May the best shop win 🙌🏽
