Gunlance always felt like an unwieldy, clunky hunk of metal in my hands, but damn did you make this fight look extremely elegant. To the point that it felt like a dance between you and Narga.
Man, I don't care how weak gunlance is in Rise, it's the best the weapon has ever felt to me. I really don't like charged shelling, and I don't like just treating it like a worse lance with purely melee slaps. It feels like Sunbreak finally made gunlance really use its full kit! And blast dash/reverse blast dash is an inspired idea
Seasoned Gunlance mains know the weapon ain't the best, but since when is everyone out here trying to speedrun monsters in hunts? We're having fun and listening to Free Bird baby!!!
WorldBorne literally made use of everything in the Gunlance's kit though, so what do you mean when Sunbreak *finally* did it. Sunbreak even has some aspects of the GL that aren't even worth using, like wyvern fire or charged shelling. WorldBorne had 3 different styles of GL, incorporating all the aspects of a GL while putting focus on certain moves. You used everything for WorldBorne GL, including the shield.
@@dynamo_lynn no. I know about this one. Sigh ok nvm . It s just when i do the dash i have to hold the button for a whole second and half at least. Thanks for taking the time to answer. Have a great day.

Nice run. I'd like to know your opinion on sneak attack. I'm torn because although I like higher shelling dmg but Idk the trade off for lower slam and swipe dmg really worth it. Also is earthsplitter buff worth it? The move itself take so long I feel like I can almost do two burst for that time commitment.
Sneak Attack is really good for Gunlance and it's decently easy to slot in with the Kamura Gunlance or Scorned Magnamalo. In general my set I use in this video + these two Gunlances offer you a ton of flexibility, you can use whatever skills you'd like and use whatever augments you want. Ground Splitter buff is worth it, it is for gameplay more focused on shelling, against monsters with enrage multipliers for example long shelling can reach 130 (!) damage with Sneak Attack (see my Tobi kadachi vs. Long GL video). I'd recommend using it in multiplayer, but for solo gameplay I prefer Hail Cutter to make your Palamutes pop off.
I still think Gunlance it's a decent weapon. I'm not that great with it but since I'm farming stuff for TU5 I've been doing AR 220 Risen Teostra, Apex Rathian and Gold Rathian in the same quest and at the moment my fastest clear has been 15 minutes and 30 seconds which is like 5 minutes and 10 seconds per monster as average and it had plenty of mistakes but it still is kinda fast for Gunlance. Hail Cutter there isn't great because the monsters elemental weakness of those three don't align too well and chain dogs haven't been too great for that quest either so I had to drop a palamute for a cat the cat made it better. Hail cutter + dog chain combo is great but it's not 100% the best choice unless it's for a single monster quest imo. I can't wait for TU5 since Kamura Gunlance is going to get even stronger and the waist pieces for Gunlance I've qurio crafted will make the set I currently use even stronger if the mantle skills get decorations and are level 2 at that.
Idk either but maybe the trade off Weapon is hard to master for that "little" damage On paper this weapon dmg is pretty good but changing it in a practical sense is too much work. Makes sense playing another weapon and doing practically less
Rise is really bad at giving weight to larger weapons, and Gunlance is probably one of the worst in that regard. Gunlance's dopamine buttons don't really fit Gunlance, or don't feel as interesting to use or are worse options in terms of damage. With world's gunlance, a slam, a sweep, a wyvern's fire, a wyrmstake cannon or an aerial burst felt heavy and powerful each time you landed it. You would land them at a slower pace, but you would feel their weight and see their damage. Either by the VFX and SFX, via the animations or even via the difficulty of landing them, that positioning to make sure you hit that good hitzone. In Rise, most of that is gone. There's a distinct lack of screenshake for a weapon that literally uses explosions. It's really easy to hit any part you want with any attack. The mobility of Rise is so unnatural for Gunlance who always has been gated (and forged) by its low mobility. Like the only attack that truly felt powerful in Sunbreak is Bullet Barrage, but even then it only feels truly powerful when there's a little delay before attacking, like cooling off a previously fired Wyvern's fire. Hammer works better in Rise as a weapon that feels powerful because mobility wasn't the thing gating Hammer in older games, it was range. You could still make hammer commit to an attack while keeping it mobile when not attacking. Hammer's dopamine buttons were easy to translate in Rise. But Gunlance couldn't really be translated as easily. So yeah I completely understand why you would feels like that regarding Gunlance.
This was not only impressive, but actually beautiful to watch. You handle gunlance like a pro. HORY SHEEET! :D

That was such an absolute banger of a run, Lynn!! Holy Moly!! Such mastery!!! Dominated the whole fight like only Lynn could! 😲👏👏👏👌👍👊💯
Thank you very much!
that was gorgeous
I can't believe how agile Gunlunce can be.
At 1:08 what combo was that , is that on sunbreak or bases rise , I’ve been trying to use the gun lance i still don’t know the combos
I'm not sure what you mean exactly, this is just the Slam - Swipe - Reload - Repeat combo, you can do this in base Rise too.
@@dynamo_lynn that’s the one
Baby jesus, how do you even breath in between? It's so fastpaced and all!
i have God Eater 3. . . Havent finished

Hail cutter only uses one wirebug???
Yeah, they buffed it in TU3 or 4
Nice! BB spam too weak/unwieldy?
Yeah BB spam fell off hard for endgame monsters since it is only fixed damage.
What do you mean by weak? I don't really feel like it is

Its not a Gunlance its RocketLance
Nice, but all it does is make me wish they hurry up and release a mainline MH soon. (By that I mean from the mainline team, not the mobile team)
