If you don't have off contact you can always tape some card to the underside of the frame to raise it to whatever distance you prefer to work with,

What about for at home DIY beginners? How do we achieve similar please if we dont have something hinged which you can adjust?

I have a Riley Hopkins absolutely love the press but it is so hard to adjust the off contact wish I'd seen this video before I purchased I might have made a different choice

yeah i agree... we started with a riley and upgraded as we grew the business. it's still a great starter press.

I agree. We have a Riley Hopkins Jr. and adjusting the off contact with the two bolts is a chore. You would think they would just make one level adjustment bolt and one off contact adjustment that you can turn and it just elevates up and down from level.

from front to rear must the quarters all touch evenly or do you need the front of the frame a little higher than the back side of the frame?

Sean Mendoza hi. It is best if the front and back is the same height (evenly) but if the front is up a tad bit higher than the back it won’t hurt...

Newbie here, what is the suggested off-contact for a regular hoodie, I was told a nickle, is this correct (btw, I am just using a Speedball wood screen print screen).

I'm new and am having an issue where the print on the shirt is turning out awful! I think it's because there is NO off contact. The frame is making direct contact with the shirt so by the time I try to remove the contact the design just looks terrible. Is there a way to make an off contact without having a press because currently I do not have the budget to invest in one.

lowheartrate yes- I would recommend taping a quarter to the bottom of your screen to make your own off contact

I have just purchased the M&R sidewinder. On the camber adjustment, do you leave the nuts slightly snug so you can adjust camber quickly and easily? Also, do you adjust the screen using camber first and then use the off contact knob?

If i use the quarter on a raw platten, once i load the shirt, the off contact is gone. Should i use the quarters with a loaded shirt on the platten or just a raw platten?

I use popsicle sticks for my off contact and it seems to be working, is there a off contact board I can purchase so that it is set correctly so I can ditch the popsicle sticks
