Here's a fix that makes your original ASV bogie wheels better than the newer style. In fact I like it so much I wish ASV would bring them back. #asv #skidsteer #machinery #machine #repair
On my 2009 PT50 I’ve changed out two middle bogeys, first one went out around 1100 hrs, the second at 1250, now looking at another after this winter with 1330 hrs on it, it’s wobbly but still functional. I put news tracks on last summer at 1150 as 6 lugs delaminated on the one side the treads were still in very good shape. I will definitely look at drilling for this washer mod. Thanks for sharing.
That's about right after 1000hrs you will have wheel and bearing experience. I learned to try not to submerge the wheels in water if possible because it's water that will get them altimately.
Thank you for the info. I have a 2013 ASV PT60 and have to replace bearings in 6 idler wheels. Looking for Timken bearing numbers to replace with. The info about the washer is a great idea. Thanks you.
Hi Darren, Love your videos. Would you be willing to share any tips on how to find aftermarket parts for the ASV under carriages? I have a 2017 RT-50 that could use some maintenance (mainly new dust caps) and new tracks. I like to have options whenever I begin a project...... Best regards Simon
Depends on where you live Tracks you need to shop around to find the best price and quality. for parts If you live in the states try trackloaderparts.com if you live in Ontario dealta power in mitchell is the Canadian distributor
@@Northbaylandscaping Thanks Darren I live in the Kitchener Waterloo area, actually have some parts on order from Delta at the moment. Pete there is a great guy to deal with. I thought perhaps you might know where I could find aftermarket parts. Example: the plastic inner rollers for the squirrel cage. Best regards Simon
Thanks so much for making this video! These are great things to know if you own a ASV or TEREX. I ended up trading up to a 2013 PT 60. I'm going through the entire machine from front to back and top to bottom. I'm sure I will have more questions. Your videos are great for us guys that fix our own stuff. I really appreciate your videos! Is there any thing I should be looking for on a 2013 machine while going through everything? As of now I'm de-greasing everything cleaning it out and changing all filters and fluids. Also some cosmetic paint and decal touch ups. Visually inspecting the undercarriage and suspension. Thanks again for the videos!!
Check the bearings on the end of the drive motors make sure there's good grease in there and that they are not dried out. If they go then it will damage the drive spocket shaft. You may have to order new caps because you can damage taking them out but, you can use a pickle jar lid with some silicone as a temporary cap. The cap should be flat becasuse if it's bulging out then the bearing has failed and pieces of bearing are pushing the cap outward.
@@dominicrene4749 I would check the height of your dump truck and compare to RT65 lift height specs because it may not be high enough. I know the RT75 can load a triaxles not sure about the RT 65
When you pay the price you do for todays equipment, you shouldnt have to do an engineering job on there undercarriage.Good video, and no disrespect intended, but this is why im going japanese on my next track loader.Im over in mattawa.
OK I LIKE YOUR IDEA!! HAVE YOU FOUND A CHEAP SOURCE FOR THE RUBBER SEAL ON THE BACK OF THE WHEEL!! sorry I am excited I like your fix. I have been building up weld but I think a screw is a good fix, way better than welding.
The seals I used the factory seals but It's been a while because I sold this machine. I use red gasket maker between the washer and the wheel as extra protection. The screws I never had any problems. You can offset the washer a bit from center to knock any potential rocks that might get stuck but you can go too far off and it may interfere with the shaft and jam the wheel.

I wish I had the actual machine to show but I sold it.
Would it have been to much to ask for you to take the wheel off and show what you're doing.
I no longer have an early wheeled machine all mine are newer. The early wheeled machines are way easier to work on and repair
