Cool vid. I went to Pomona a while back. Did a similar college tour and am thankful for parents who could afford such a thing. Applied ED to Pomona and received word by November. Had a great four years and am lifelong friends with many of the people I met there.
I'm a graduate of Pomona College (graduated in 1999 with a B.A. in music.) I encourage you to look into the other Claremont Colleges as well (Claremont McKenna College and Pitzer College) which are also excellent schools and very selective. If your son is interested in engineering, science or math, Harvey Mudd (the other Claremont College) is also superb...one of the best in the country!
I applied to both Pomona College and Pitzer College this year and didn't get into either school. I have an unweighted 4.0 G.P.A with a bunch of A.P. classes and extracurriculars, the Claremont schools are incredibly hard to get into!
I'm applying this year and this was a very helpful video! We visited some of the same schools :)
I love to see that a Liberal Arts education is still appealing to students. Hamilton Alum here! I loved my education there. Some of the best years of my life.
Yep. Love Hamilton.
For myself, I have a degree in Anthropology (Liberal Arts). This is because I needed to have it for my archeology job.
Great tour! Ambitious itinerary! We are going to visit a campus in the Netherlands next week. We visited the University of San Diego (USD) over the summer, which was very seductive, and a gorgeous campus. (PS Will is going to slay with that accent! ;-)) *updated to fix university reference.
Great job! Good luck Will getting accepted at a great college.
This is a really nice video. Thanks for sharing visuals of the colleges and your perspectives with folks who might not be able to physically visit.
Great video...I wish you luck with you application!
Such an awesome video. I applied to a bunch of LAC's this year and got accepted to Wesleyan, Hamilton and Bowdoin! Also got Waitlisted at Colby, Trinity and Conn College. Super excited for these next 4 years
Thank you, this is so helpful!
You're so welcome!
Nicely done. Good luck with your college applications next year.
Thank you! Will is quite anxious about this whole process.
What a great trip! Will is going to do amazing no matter where he ends up.
I hope so! Thanks for your encouragement and watching the video.
I live 15 minutes away from Hamilton, if you have a car you can get to places like the mall & restaurants in like 10 minutes. Also I’ve been to the citrus bowl game it’s fun :) I have many friends who go there it’s a nice school
Where are you heading to study in the fall? I enjoyed your video.
Do you know where he's got in yet?
very cool trip. Early Decision 2023-2024 just end, Did you apply?
Will is in the midst of applying this week!
ED2. good luck for Will. which uni/college does he apply@@socialneuro
Honestly your comments about aid seems very naive. Not to mention the impossibility of acceptance to some of these schools.
This is great, very helpful video. Financial aid is there for those who need it, provided the student and their family do everything they can to take advantage of it, including excelling at school, following the application rules, doing extra-circular activities, and doing everything at the university to continue to receive it. Also, if you start from the mind-frame that things are impossible you will sadly prove yourself right.
As a dad, I was somewhat uncomfortable with the dad here doing 90% of the talking.
Should we warm you a bottle and swaddle you to help make you comfortable?
