@@RichMidGaming Hi there Rich, Came back to this video which is really usefull. The two characters on top also drives me mad. In the case of the truck ok, starlord is one step below, the cabin is lower than the back part of the truck. But if both characters are in the same level there's no way you can draw a line through terrain right? I mean all lines will go atop terrain with no line going through. I've gone through the faq and errata and didn't find anything in this matter so was thinking if there is some sort of convention that I have not come through. Cheers.
Great video! Maybe we can see an explanation of how throws work in the future? I've never been clear with how throws both to and from characters standing on terrain works. Keep up the amazing work, much appreciated!
Love the channel. Question: sabretooth DOES benefit from cover as he’s outside of range two from rocket though yeah? He’s not blocked by crossbones but still gets it?
Thanks for the clear video. But doesn't a character on a size (X) terrain become size (terrain size + their own size)? So then wouldn't Luke Cage on a size 3 garbage truck become size 5 while Peter Quill becomes size 5 also, now negating size 3 terrain which is 2 sizes beneath both of them NOW permitting two characters that TOTALLY have line of sight to see and attack each other? It's the equivalent of them both being size 2 and standing on the flat ground. This makes sense to me. I may make this a House Rule because I don't want to have to pretend in my head that Luke Cage is 'somehow' "getting cover" while on the same top of a garbage truck as Peter Quill is... How's he achieving this cover? Hopping down to hang on the back end of the garbage truck then launching back up? Is he breakdancing and dodging all the shots (that's not 'Cover', that's a 'Dodge' mechanic' that would have to be factored in)? Did he go prone behind a a tiny lip of cast iron and somehow Quill's shot was absorbed by it? It just seems like nonsense. Likewise, if Cage was standing on the top of a size 2 dumpster up against the size 3 Daily Bugle and Quill was on the newspaper stand, there'd only be a difference of Size 1 between them... so I don't think Cage should get cover... or maybe because his legs are obscured. AMG needs to do something about this. It's dumb. Similarly, if a character is on a size 4 building while another character is on the ground, the character on the roof should receive cover by any ledges, but still be visible if there's genuinely LOS. These are my thoughts.
So. Firstly glad you liked the video. Secondly the rules are very clear on how it works. The size of a character (including terrain) is only used for calculation during the LOS phase - I.e, can character x, see character y. It has no bearing on the cover mechanic in this game, hence why yes - Starlord and Luke Cage are effectively both size 6 (2 plus 4 from the terrain), but this is then ignored after the LOS is confirmed and the attack takes place. It’s a weird one I know, but it is very clear in the rules - I always see it in my head as they are using their surrounding to gain an advantage (maybe hanging off the side of a truck, or something else comic book esq). Clear - yes. Always makes sense - no
I've been waiting for this video !! Definitely hard to view it in a 2d layout givin a 3d game. I love the check list you've layed out , makes it very easy to tell everytime when terrain gives u cover Edit : a new video I'd love to see is on how to play the crisis' extract versus secure and the type of objective tokens. The difference of these still confuse me. Like some secure cards don't say interact on them and some do. So with the ones that do is it a choice , or do u have to interact to secure ?? Also once you've secured an objective can you move away from it without it un-securing ? Anyways great video mate ! 👍
When giving the Iron Man example, I meant Homing Rockets, not Repulser Blast...I apologise profusely!
The thumbnail definitely caught my attention. Great as always Rich :D
Glad you like it!
Good info... was very surprised that cover was granted while both parties were on the truck. That threw me.
It’s one that catches a lot of people out
