Pontiacs last great car produced (with a procharger) vs. a good ol' dodge hellcat (my two favorite brands), that was a great run! I think even though you have 400 extra lbs., you probably have better gearing in your transmission. But it was a hell of a run for both rides. :)
Some of you need to understand those G8s can make 470 to 500 wheel motor alone with out the procharger just heads/cam with bolt ons. It's not unrealistic for that car to pick up 150 wheel with a procharger but this isn't my platform this is what I have seen. His car still ran well.
And a Scat Pack makes what? Regardless of what it makes without the ProCharger, the G8nwas not in fact tuned properly and geared properly. That is highly obvious. And the fact that this Hellcat owner like to keep starting the race while he is ahead of the other car, every damn time. A lot of factors at play here, but a Hellcat is a factory proven and built race car. This G8 had to be molded to get there and his combo still isn't right. I think the G8 owner is a moron myself because he is just simply throwing everything at the car when what he has just needs work. He will add meth injection to it and blow it up if he hasn't already, watch and see.
If the G8 hasn't upgraded to a performance converter, then he's dropping all out of the power band with each shift. Centrifugal blowers lack the strong tq curves of the positive disp blowers.
The converter isn't going to make a huge deal on a roll lol. It would on a dig. The Centri blowers do better on top end. Stock gearing sucks. However for him to be stock blower pulley and not on e85 I find it hard to believe he's pushing 700 wheel consistently let alone at all. I had a heads cam G8 on 9lbs of boost on e85 only make 690 wheel and that was with 3.45 gears and a stall and it runs neck and neck to a bolt on C6ZR1 on 93 (which would put a hurting on a stock Hellcat

Hes definitely not any where near 700rwhp. I would say hes around 530 to 580 max. Full bolts on, heads and cam, fuel system, 3.45 gears, e85 and pulley swap and he would be right at 700rwhp or more. If he wants 1,000 rwhp or more he can spend about 6k on a forged 6.0 rebuild or go 408 stroker.

Adding E85 and meth injection to either car will give you a substantial bump in horsepower and torque. Another thing I would be curious about is the axle ratios and gear ratios of each machine. Actually the stock G8 stock axle is geared quite high at 2.92. I believe the Hellcat has a 3.70 which is substantially lower and should put power down a little quicker than the G8. The G8 is a 6 speed and the Hellcat is a 8 speed. While horsepower and torque are the big players the axle and gear ratios play a big role in straight line performance. Great Video! As a G8 owner I can tell you the first thing you need to do is change the gears. All the power in the world won't make a difference without better gearing. Also, the G8 is a road car not really a track (straight line) car. And I 'm sorry to say procharger is not equal to a real supercharger that whine is compression building which "supercharges" engine power. Good racing through and nice sportsmanship...

I think it'd be possible to get close to 700. My car with just a 7psi centrifugal blower is making 507whp. if I did all the other mods that this G8 has, my car would sit in the low 600s whp. He's bolt ons with a heads/cam package. Tack on another 2psi of boost and it might pass 650. i'm not sure how the LS motors react to mods. Just trying to compare our cars since they're both pushrods with almost the same size. (6.0 and 6.1)

I thought that before we raced but if you think about it, it makes sense. He's only 60 more wheel horsepower than me with a passenger. The weight difference drops to 200 which isn't a lot at all. I have more gears and my trans shifts faster. It kinda makes sense in my opinion. But blew my mind. Didn't know that woukd be the outcome. Yeah maybe his tune is bad idk

idk who built that G8, but its not 700whp. My 2007 Charger makes 500whp, and I keep up better than that, no joke. I only lose by a couple car lengths to cats

Thanks bro! I appreciate it man! I was suprised how much power it made on the dyno to the wheels with just an intake it made 650 wheel 634 wheel torque that's over 730HP to the crank!

Not hating, but that g8 needs a retune if it can't take a heavier car making less power.
It's only 200 pounds less than me with a passenger thats really nothing. Also, the transmission would easily alone make up 50HP difference if he's actually 700. I bet he's more around 600 to 650 if I had to guess

He is 690-700 wheel he literally went to a dyno... My transmission is half the reason I pulled. Also, he had a passenger so the weight is only 200 pound difference with only 60 more hp which apparently isn't enough. It makes sense. Come race him in your 5.0 and let's see what happens lol. His car still did well.
