    Matthew demonstrates some exercises you can do without the instrument. Good advice to develop finger independence and control with a little resistance training added in for good measure. Enjoy!

    Finally someone has removed the real problem; the guitar! 😂 Excellent lesson

    That is a great, handy lesson. I like the idea of being able to practice anytime, anywhere, even if I do not have a guitar handy.

    Great set of exercises, and no instrument required! The last few 😱. Add the metronome 🤔. Cheers 🎶

      The metronome was only there to provide an atmosphere of rigor!

    This excercise is really effective and you are right it is the 3rd finger that is lazy. You can extend the idea by placing your hand flat and moving each finger sideways as far as you can single and in pairs. Also helps you to do a Spock Vulcan salute as a bonus 👆

      Matthew can I ask you do a tutorial on how you approach a new piece. What is your process to turn the dots on telegraph wires into a final performance? Any advice would be great thanks.

    Good exercise, but what is the purpose of doing it with the non-fretting hand?

    • @galleryofguitar
      @galleryofguitar  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Many reasons. Some people are left handed. It is good to build up strength and dexterity in both hands. It is good for the cognitive connection between both hands etc etc..

      @@galleryofguitar My dad ran his middle finger through a plainer. Cut off about a half inch. He was still able to play his banjo though.
