I saw the Dark Crystal when I was 6 years old in the cinema, then my mum took us again! and omg... I loved it so much! I strangely loved the Chamberlain.... and Fizz gig!
The voices are so soothing to me, I can listen to them talk about anything, it's like hearing my mothers voice, some of the first voices I heard in life are Jim Henson and Frank Oz on Sesame Street.
I was 13/14 when this movie released. I grew up with Henson - Sesame Street, the Muppet Show etc. This movie is has been beloved by me ever since. I remember my brother and I walking around impersonating Chamberlain 😂❤
Jim henson created and left a legacy of work behind not only was he a master puppeteer but a fantasy film director with a strong vision as a film maker irreplaceable RiP Jim henson and faz fazakas / and the legendary muppet film makers who created brilliance and class in a glass ❤😂🎉😅😊 which is now historical film making at its very best
5:18 I love how he said "I start with the eye/s" bc I draw my style in the same way when everybody says "NO! You have to make a whole geometrical form construction first!!!" Nope, it is different, intuitive and everybody has a different style.
same, starting with the eyes helps me design the rest of the character. used to start with the shapes, but once you get the hang of faces it's really not necessary
At the time, everything was created by hand! Now everything is CGI! 😞😞😞 You can see and feel the love these people have put in this movie...Remarkable work of art!
I recall seeing this documentary on TV when I was about 10 years old. I instantly wanted to see the movie! I guess that was probably the main reason this was aired on TV now I think about it. The Dark Crystal was hugely influential on me at the time. I don't think the musical composer Trevor Jones got enough credit for what he brought to the film.
Is anyone going to watch this in 2024
🤘here. Greetings from germany.
