Love my kokens. Getting a Nepros 3/8 next month shipped from japan soon.
I honestly never heard of Nepro but now I’m researching.
@Chancesgarage Nepros stands for (Ne)w (Pro)fessional (S)atisfaction.. They're Kyoto Tool Company or KTC higher end tool lineup. Kind of like Toyota 's luxury brand Lexus. Nepros makes THE most beautiful chrome finish on their tools. Their tools are too beautiful to be worked with. You're going to be wondering to yourself if these tools are meant to be used or if they belong on a display case somewhere. Lol The Nepros NBR390X is their non mirrored finish ratchet. First of its kind for Nepros.
@ I’ve looked at KTC before. Appreciate that info. Now my wallet is going to hurt some more
You might need tool truck tools or maybe not. Just think if you out in a place fifty miles from nowhere you might have to fix it without Snap On, Mac or Matco.
@@LOUIS-fp3bv I live 40 miles from the nearest city. Until about 3 months ago even a harbor freight, Menards, Home Depot or Lowe’s was an hour drive.
Those black Harbor Freight ratchets in the video are some good tools.
They have served me well! I prefer them over the chrome ratchets
I think Pittsburgh is decent enough. I have some of their ratchets. The only down side is people give me crap for using them😂😂. I have them because at the time I couldn't afford better. They worked for me great. If I break one well the hobo freight is only 6min up the road to warranty lol.
I started using Pittsburgh because it was all I could afford as well and they never failed me yet.
Buy Williams instead of crap on and save a chunk of change for the same tools by the same company
@@Wil_Liam1 I used my first koken just a couple days ago and fell in love.
Building my set its mostly metric and icon brand u need to grease up some of your deep sockets looking dry
@@herbbot8241 appreciate the advice, I haven’t in a long time.
I have never needed any rounded bolt remover since I bought quality USA tools even living in Illinois were they use real salt on the roads.
@@keysautorepair6038 I have never rounded a bolt here in Ohio with my tools. I needed that set when I was doing brakes in my car that the previous owner or maybe even a shop rounded and put back on.
@ Was wondering why everyone has so many of the stripped bolt sockets nowadays.
@@keysautorepair6038 the one and only time I needed the caliper to bracket bolt on two wheels where as round as a circle. Mitsubishi also likes to use grade 4 bolts to cheap out a that shear off like crazy
I've got mostly Icon socketry now, and I've been very satisfied with it so far. I've got a few of their ratchets, but I was able to get my hands on a couple of Kokens recently, along with a couple of the compact body Tone ratchets, and I mainly just use those now.

@@chrisoller3097 appreciate. I never shop there so I’m surprised I even have these hahaha
Nice that you went the Tekton stuff. They make some really great stuff, very cost efficient. One of my favorite brands at the moment. Them and Capri. Also, those PowerTorque sockets probably came from O’Reilly. They sale a lot of PowerTorque stuff.
@@tannerwest6823 Tekton is my go to for sure. I live close enough that I get my stuff next day or the day after. That makes sense with it Power Torque stuff too. I appreciate ya watching!

@@christopheredwards357 thank you!! 🙏
I understand your thinking but how's the fitment on all these wrenches and do they strip tight bolts?
@@alcerz984 the best tolerances are on my MAC and Tekton wrenches. I have not have had any wrench strip a sized bolt yet. I like in Ohio and work on a lot of rusted out piles to. My complaint is with the long ratcheting wrenches by Tekton. They are a 6 point style but with a bit of a looser tolerance the bolt head will twist and get stuck in the wrench head. And removing the bolt from the wrench in small spaces suck especially when it ratchets in one direction.
Thanks
I keep my snap on
To each their own but it’s a waste of money for hobbyists that don’t use them regularly
You could probably do 3 rods side by side, and alternate the clips from the center so you'd get a staggered double or triple wide 10in section or grid.
That’s a great idea that I never thought of!
FYI to all people out there that said the Craftsman is not warranted ah yes it is even your old ones take them into Lowe's those who do not know this need to keep their mouth shut and those who speak you need to do some research before you start opening your mouth or start typing with your freaking fingers
@@OU812NVME appreciate that, I did not they were still warranted though I had never tried yet.
I've never used Quinn but I really like icon Capri and tekton
@@sandycharlton8669 I’ve never tried capri but I want to
What's real nice about tekton is NO SKIPS
Sorry but I have to laugh, you are likely that guy who goes to Starbucks every morning on the way to work and goes to lunch every day at work as well, figure $6.00 a day at Starbucks for $30 dollars a week and another $15 dollars a day for lunch for another $75.00 dollars a week so that is $105 dollars a week for coffee and lunch every day now lets add that up for a year for a total cost of $5,460 dollars a year for coffee and lunch and you complain about the cost of tools? You could own one hell of a set of tools in just 5 years by cutting out the Starbucks and eating out for lunch every day. 5 x 5460 = $27,300 dollars, that would buy a very nice set of Snap On or Matco tools for a home garage.
@@mustangecoboosthpp3869 I don’t like coffee and I had stomach surgery back in February so I have to eat a special diet that I have to make and meal prep every day. BUT I do make a 6 figure salary sitting in a nice, plush, fancy office everyday. Like I have said, I am a hobbyist that do not NEED snap on or Matco. I do own both brands but not every tool is. 🤷
Are you aware those old Craftsman wrenches are no longer warrantied. The company that purchased Craftsman from sears would not warrant the old sears Craftsman tools.
@@mustangecoboosthpp3869 idc about the warranty on the craftsman nor the hyper tough or performax. I have gotten my monies worth out of all three through the length of time I have had and used them. And like I said in the video I will replace them with another brand when they break.
You're full of it Lowe's bought the contract I can take any of my old craftsman into Lowe's and they'll replace it you are a liar I really wish people like you would not even speak or type anything when you have no knowledge of what you're talking about if you got one guy saying oh well I won't return that it's not warranty that's just one person do some homework
In other words you feel the need to justify your choice by taking a shot at those who don't mind spending the money for quality tools from Snap On, Marco ect. When I work on my vehicles I want everything in its place and I want the best money can buy. Quality tools are not expensive, what is expensive is cheap tools that break, or damage what you're working on causing you to spend four times as long getting the job done. You only have to buy quality tools once, but I see people who buy cheap tools purchasing the same tools over and over again when the next new name in cheap tools come out. HOBO Freight fan boys used to say Pittsburg tools were great, then HOBO Freight came out with Quinn and they all purchased Quinn tools to replace their Pittsburg tools, then HOBO Freight came out with Icon and a bunch ran out and replaced their Quinn tools with Icon, and we are not even getting into the multiple other brands of cheap tools sold elsewhere. By the time many of the people are done they could have purchased a set of Snap On tools and been done with it.
@@mustangecoboosthpp3869 I never took shots at anyone. But when I get on TH-cam or any Social Media platform and I see videos of non professionals and hobbyists spending thousands on tools thinking they need to, I wanted to put out that I can do the same job with lesser tools. If you are a professional that uses these tools day in and day out by all means buy snap on. Quinn is a solid brand for hobbyists. Icon IS a brand young professionals can use. AND there are plenty of reviews that praise the quality vs price when it comes to Tekton. Price, Warranty, and ease of warranty makes Tekton and Icon a decent choice for people that don’t wanna spend a paycheck on wrenches
Why would he buy Snap On? That kind of money isn't even a wise investment for premium tools. What he is doing is the intelligent choice. Not getting caught up in tool snobbery and OCD.
@ you are correct. Thank you sir.
Not supposed to use ratchet side to break bolts loose
Nice haul I only can dream off hf stuff since I'm in Puerto Rico I could lost my life in service for our freedom but harbor freight can't even make a store here not even ship stuff to us anymore 😢
@@ELDIESTRODIY thank you for your service!! HF has been growing this year. Don’t lose hope I bet they make a presence there at some point.
Get what y9u can afford..cheap tools need to be used differently than more expensive tools..there ARE differences but not everyone needs professional quality tools to do DIY stuff
@@boosted2.4_sky I couldn’t agree more my friend
This just shows you must live or came from a small town and never grew out of it.
@@drew5992 I grew up in the 4th largest city in Ohio but now I do live in a town with a population of 62. You couldn’t pay me enough to live in a large city again. But idk what that has to do with my tools.
Have you tried Icon wrenches? They’re making some very nice tools, and through Harbor Freight they’re warrantied for life
I have not. I’ve been looking at them but also the Tekton wrench set too.
Junk
I've been turning wrenches for a very long time. I actually prefer shorter, more standard length wrenches most of the time because of clearance issues. I still have long pattern wrenches, but usually, the only time I reach for those is when I know something is going to be tight enough to warrant the longer length and/or I know theres enough room. But I mostly use ratchets, breaker bars, and sockets. And, I stopped buying ratcheting wrenches quite a while back. As far as cheap tools go, I try to avoid buying cheap Chinese made tools unless it's unavoidable due to poor past experiences with performance, quality, and warranty issues. Plus, I'm not big on the idea of funding communism and forced labor to a government that lives to take advantage of the United States, even at the cost of its own people, just to save a buck or two. I'm all for good Taiwan made tools, though. I own quite a few of those brands, but China is looking for any reason to invade them and put them back under communist rule. I can't afford to go out and buy the best or most expensive stuff. I do, however, enjoy using good quality tools that I know I can rely on and potentially pass on to my son or grandson. High-quality tools hold much more of their value as well.
I have mostly Craftsman and they go back to the 80s or maybe even before. I think even the less expensive wrenches are pretty good today.
@@rawbacon couldn’t agree more.
Those MAC wrenches are really nice
@@scottaddison8071 I’m honestly not a fan. I wish they were longer. There has been very few times I needed the shorter wrench.

I just got a bunch of craftsman V series wrenches and ratcheting wrenches for cheap. Tried that xl double box end and I really do like em, but their mac version ratcheting wrenches are really short. They are all expensive these days, but I do look for deals like an addict. But I think i'm done and hopefully these sets will last me a life time.
I do wanna try the Craftsman Prodrive set but since they are made by the same people that make Mac I’m hesitant. My Mac wrenches are almost stubbies and I’m not a fan of stubby wrenches.
I use mostly Quinn, Icon, Gearwrench, Teq Pro by Gearwrench from years ago that I still have, and Diehard.
i have and still use the Quinn set and have also had good luck with the Harbor Freight brands and if i do break one i can take to any HF and get it replaced

Using a 1/4 mile calculator. 100lbs is similar to 12hp.
@@burnnxs thank you. I was going off of the motor trend article. But honestly I believe your calculator more
@Shitbox_restoration I've read that article, either a typo or embellished numbers for clickbait. 10lb would be 1hp. Either way, even those numbers are so narrow, you would have to drop well over 300lbs to start noticing a consistent benefit.
@ I don’t believe you’ll feel much of a difference on the street anyways. I just put that in there as that’s a big argument for people that upgrade seats on street builds.
@@Chancesgarage leaving that information in your video is equal to you claiming your stickers add 10 hp.
@@burnnxsI respectably disagree. As the information I provided can be found with a google search and provided by a reputable source. To some extent I do agree it can be misinformation. That’s a loaded question. Some tools you want to have high quality versions of. For example I could by some generic brand steel pipe wrench and get my work done but my quality of life would go way down so I invested in rigid aluminum which makes the job go easier and save my arms, shoulder and back.
