I love film more than..basically everything. A great one can change your life and alter the way you look at the world around you, and a bad one…can kinda also do that too.
I originally made the account to be a companion to my TikTok account where I share films I love that maybe not everyone has seen. I still plan to do that here, but also somehow tripped and fell into being a reactor?? But I’m having a lot of fun, so what the hell.

You are thinking of the 27 Club. And yes, this was always the opening song of Sick Boi.
This is a great channel, please do more as you clearly 'get' this masterpiece!
Thank you! Gonna be recording and posting episode 2 sometime this weekend
cant wait for bye bye!
I don’t think anyone ever gave a definitive answer. Seen many people associate it to different Bible verses, but that seems like a stretch as none of the guys in the band are particularly (if at all) religious. Far more “spiritual” in an individual/transcendental kinda way lol. I’ve also seen fans say it’s a call back to their song Trouble in 421. 10:24 backwards is 4201 = 421. That seems like SUCH a stretch though lol. Not to mention none of them liked or talked about the album that song was on, so that’s almost certainly not it either. We may never know! lol
I also loved this song/band and I rediscover it/them occasionally. Didn't see the open torso angle coming. Appreciate the DIY glowing parts. This is not a deep comment. I appreciate your analysis.
This movie gave me nightmares, xD
More Dark Place! You’re killin’ it
Please react to the bye bye song🥲
I saw this in Anchorage in theaters while homeless. Having no empathy would make life alot easier.
Thank you for your videos. Have a great day.
i always believed the music video was correlating fascist germany with our current world: that fascism is always looming around in the corner, that it never really was destroyed. And with the controversy around "Dont Ask Dont Tell" back then the message is probably that the dystopian world of this music video would probably be our world again if we give fascism any room to breathe. I think the music video also mixes Fascist Germany with the gay cabaret scene that flourished right before in the Weimar Republic and the oppression of gay people that followed right after. There's war imagery chaos and fire in the background, bowl cuts (maybe a reference to hitler youth haircuts?) then the religious imagery kicks in which is clearly calling out the catholic church for its hypocrisy and silent collaboration with fascist germany back then. The swallowing the rosary part caused a huge commotion back then. Also, the correlation with the song itself being latin influenced could be relating to Argentina's rather dark history with fascist germany (and she slightly looks like Eva Peron in this mv) overall this music video is very cinematic and ominous and melancholic and it doesn't follow a clear storyline or structure like a lot of her other mvs which is why it's my absolute favorite mv by her (also this is my all time fav song by her)
u should react to bye bye from mufasa
This choreo is super well-known and replicated. At Gaga shows there are always fans doing the Bad Romance dance in the audience, so I think you're right about the simplicity making it repeatable!
I am loving your Gaga reactions!! I would love to see your reaction to the Born This Way music video directed by Nick Knight. It’s my absolute favorite 🖤
I love your thoughts on these videos because you're actually critical and know what you're talking about! Not just empty praises. Also calling the dudes fascists had me dying every time! It's true! This video hits different now.
this song is about fear of men, from an album full of songs about different fears of hers. (love, sex, fame, truth...) the shotgun bra is meant to symbolize her need for protection from lustful nature of men (hence them being placed on breasts, an organ men lust the most over) so to say, soon as their eyes land on them, they're met with danger to back them away.
😮 pls do more gaga mv's 🥺 you're really good, your interpretations are heading towards the right direction!
love your Gaga reactions!! as a longtime fan, I'm still confused what the video is about too lol. I actually always thought it was meant to be set in Russia but idk I agree with people recommending Marry the Night - the music video is actually a short film with a full on storyline. Same goes with Telephone, which is insane too. I've been seeing what's going on in the US, and I am horrified as so many. Sending a whole lot of love and strength from France <3
Well I’m glad I’m not the only one that was confused lol. Thank you ❤ I’m very lucky to be in a state that still protects me as a queer person but things look very scary, especially for all my trans friends out there.
here is the tea... if you want a REAL short film, I would look at Marry The Night, its a 13 music video with dialog and a more obvious plot, there is also the G.U.Y. music video that is similar but it has to be the "Artpop Film" version. Also just have to say I love the chaos of your videos, and how all of it leads to the correct interpretation !
Oh wow I didn’t realize Marty the snugly was so long, sounds great! And thank you, I call that chaos currently under medicated ADHD 😂
i love your reactions to gaga, they're so different than a music analyzer and shows your unique perspective. :) there hasn't been a super clear and complete breakdown of what the video for alejandro exactly is , but many (including myself) think that it focuses on how Gaga (like many LGBT people) has struggled with her identity as a woman of faith and the reality of her own sexuality and her faith's teachings about LGBT people in general. The lyrics of the song can be viewed as a metaphor, with each of the men she rejects symbolizing aspects of organized religion that Gaga does not accept. The comparison between a religion and a bad relationship is one that I'm sure a lot of people can relate to. now to what the actual symbolism of the video with the war nazi like imagery i personally have no idea.
I would say that all of her videos have intent and thought put behind the visuals, but Gaga definitely likes to distort things and make it a rollercoaster to keep up with all the visuals she throws at you. I think you were right about the Cabaret vibes and mixing the prevalent queer and androgynous subculture in Germany while fascism was steadily amping up around them. I think it might’ve also been commentary about ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ which was being repealed in America at the time. Gaga wore the meat dress and brought discharged queer soldiers to the VMAs to make a statement about it around the time this video came out, so she might’ve been showing a hidden queer subculture that the soldiers participated in privately in the video. I remember her saying that the video was a dedication to all the gay men in her life.
Every music video has an intention behind it, she's an artist thru and thru
Loved your reaction!
Marry the night next please ❤
That is not scar
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Is that a House shirt? Your Gaga reactions are always so thoughtful and interesting.😃
It is!! ❤❤ Well spotted! I love House
Her most biblical video (she went to a Catholic high school) is judas and it's a modern day take on the the apostles and jesus. Recommend putting it on your list. She got into so much trouble for it haha
Gaga is a visual genius. Everything has a meaning even though this one os about cheating haha it all means something. I can't wait till you see 911 or marry the night
ADORE your reactions both as Gaga fan and as a cinema lover! Keep it up! + pretty sure Gaga knows and works on her references
Awww thank you 🥹
As a Gaga fan, I'm still confused about this video clip. There are obvious references to "Cabaret", themes of homoerotism, criticism of war / WWII German "bad guys", opposition between religious faith and sexual desire as well as between love and violence, but even the Wikipedia page about this song doesn't seem to manage to pinpoint one singular interpretation of the visuals. On another subject : the movie in which you saw a gun bra may be "Machete kills", a movie with Lady Gaga in it, even though it's Sofia Vergara's character who wears it
she (like many LGBT people) has struggled with her identity as a woman of faith and the reality of her own sexuality and her faith's teachings about LGBT people in general. The lyrics of the song can be viewed as a metaphor, with each of the men she rejects symbolizing aspects of organized religion that Gaga does not accept. The comparison between a religion and a bad relationship is one that I'm sure a lot of people can relate to
I never saw Machete Kills, actually! I saw the first one forever ago when it first came out but not that one. Is it worth checking out?
@@Filmfinds1443 I wanted to see it when it aired because Lady Gaga was in it, but my parents didn't allow me back then 😂 Even now I haven't watched it totally, but I saw some scenes on TH-cam, mainly the gun bra scene. That's why I thought about this movie when you mentioned it. But I can't tell if the movie is worth watching or not 😅
The contrast between the music and the visuals is very intentional, and I think stems from Gaga's approach to pop music. She emerged from an underground rock scene in New York at a time when pop music was looked down on by everyone around her, so to her the most punk thing to do would be to make "underground pop music" that either challenged most people's conventions of what pop music could sound or even look like, *or* playing with and leaning into the stereotypes. This follows in the vein of other huge pop artists that she's inspired by, like Prince, David Bowie, or Freddie Mercury. In her eyes, as she used to declare before her tours "pop music will never be low-brow." Her approach is also very heavily influenced by the drag scene in ny, and its campy take on pop music, as well as more traditional performance artists like Marina Abramovich, who she's worked with before. She's always been more of a "drag" performance artist than a standard pop star in my eyes. She's also a huuge theater nerd so I'm sure the cabaret nods were intentional as well.
Oohh, pumped to watch this. I'd also suggest doing the "Born This Way" video in addition to the ones already mentioned.
Actually don’t think anyone’s told me to do that one yet so I’ll toss it on the list!
Yes please!
if you can please please please do Gaga's Monster Ball Tour at Madson Square Garden, its an amazing show/dvd
Yeah I could totally look into that. I’ve never seen one of her live performances, are there a lot of things going on visually for me to reach to? Because I always feel like I fail when it comes to reaching to her music 😅
neeed more aaaaaa youre so cool <3
I am so pleased I’ve finally learned how to trick someone into thinking I’m cool 😂
@@Filmfinds1443 HAHAHA BUT YOU AREEEEE I find it amusing to see you talking about movies, styling of videos, Gaga herself
This song and Animation both are brilliant And This movie definitely have clear Facial Expressions
Ren announcing his claim to be *THE BEST* pure braggadocio. in typical Rap Star fashion. Clever but not subtle, but I have to admire this, and it is fun. Keep Reacting!
Mostly posting this so I can have it somewhere I can find because Ace is sadly no longer around and he was such a sweet doggo
Casual is, by far, the most cinematic of her videos. An absolute masterpiece in design and execution. And it shows that Chappell can definitely act. So expressive! My Kink is Karma is probably artistically the best of the rest. However, I suspect you'd perhaps enjoy Red Wine Supernova (Magician's Cut) more. It has to be Magician's Cut. Pink Pony Club is also a great concept video. Chappell was independent when producing most of her videos. She has said that they were made by her friends for next to nothing (because she was financing it herself). Pink Pony Club is the exception, which was when she was still with Atlantic--before they dropped her because she wasn't making them money.
I came for the Gaga reaction but stayed for your amazing perspective. I’m truly fascinated by your point of view. Subscribing for sure. I can’t recommend Gagas 911 or Marry the night video enough ❤
OK, this video: the way the band write their music is that the guys write the music and melodies then they send it to Tatiana who then writes the lyrics. Tati is a notorious procrastinator. They were writing their new album and they were all waiting for her lyrics, some songs she literally wrote on the day they recorded it. The guys were hounding her for her lyrics and the only way she could get them off her back was to give them her art.
Meg ,Dwayne ,Mac scarlet inde, we just want Cody and not be afraid of not allowed into beautiful people.
Icarus and (behind) Icarus are very very funny. Goran is a genius!
Aw hope you get some restorative rest Jess! This one is a huge opening song for the Sickboi album! Thanks for the reaction ❤
My favourite bit in this episode is at the funeral, where when Garth/Rick is shooting the reanimated body, it cuts to Richard's character Dean shooting the shotgun, but when it cuts back the the grave, he's standing in the background with his hands in his pockets! 😂
Good spot on Garth looking like Friedkin, as that was apparently the look they were going for with the hair, glasses, and leather jacket (he's sort of a cross between Friedkin and British horror author Shaun Hutson).
Really?? That’s hilarious I was thinking my brain was being random coming up with Friedkin. Glad I’m not crazy.
Hi FF! You maybe feeling poorly, but you perked up when reacting to this one. Got positively animated! Keep Reacting!
For years, I hated this due to being forced to listen to it on repeat in a French appartement with insufficient alcohol. Only recently have my teeth stopped clenching enough to appreciate it.
50s and 60s Japanese films are outstanding. Not just samurai films.
100%. Samurai films were the first Japanese movies I saw of that era, and they’re amazing, but there’s so much more to see. Hell even just from Kurosawa. I love his samurai films so much but nothing to me beats Ikiru
@Filmfinds1443 High and Low for me.
didnt see prince of egypt but im very familiar with the story of moses and ramses and its clear they got the insperation (at least a bit) from the from that story...i mean taka found mufasa pretty much the same way ramses found moses.
