@@ziekaman2450 I do have some stutters/frame drops. So you are not alone. In my experience, in Msfs 2020, it has to do with a ram bottleneck. In medium settings native 2k, or at about 80% dynamic resolution of 2k, my CPU is rarely reaching over 60% usage, GPU is howering around 85% and bandwidth 10MbsUp/100MbsDown is rarely fully utalized. So it leaves my 16Gb Fortis 2400Mhz DDR4 as the occational stutter reason. At least this is my reasoning, even though Msfs 2024 or 2024 do/did rarely use over 10Gb of ram. GPUs V-ram (8Gb) did not cap out either. My Ryzen 5 2600 CPU is noutorious for being ram sensitive, but for now, and for my use case, it will still do. Of course, a PC upgrade would be nice, but I am also weighing the so called ROI (return on investment) as PC cost alot... especially if one wants to play Msfs on ultra 2k or 4k.

@@entiredretreat Hi thanks for the answer ! How was the alpha expierence with your rig in terms of stutters? Better ? My system still stutters at heavy sceneries. Almost every approach... RTX4060 and 9700K CPU. High settings 1440p. Expensive rig already, and frustrating to see stutters still. The bottleneck is my cpu single core performance so that's why i'm looking forward to 2024.

I have a Msfs 2024 and 2020 side by side comparidon video comming out tomorrow 2pm Helsinki time. It schould be already visible in the "PREMIERE" state/section on @entiredretreat channel. Sadly, the Msfs 24 Tech Alpha was slightly worce then my Msfs 20 gameplay. I am going to dive into it as the full game releases. NOTE! Therw is a POLL/VOTE in the channels community section. Yes, the Msfs 2024 Tech Alpha indeed suggested high settings. I could run high, when HIGH UP in the air (pun intended) 😅 But urban city's could fall down to 15-20fps. You say that Ultra run better? Was it the precicely same area, time of day amd weather? Msfs 2020 is so dynamic that recreating thw exact same weather (clouds and all) is difficult. Mahbe that affected tje game performance?

But still, if you want to test for your self, try to keep the environment the same. Its always nice to hear what fellow flight sim entusiasts experience. 👍

@@entiredretreat try creating a windows user profile for only msfs. Since all the background stuff is tied to your windows account, it would be basically the same as running it on a fresh install of windows with nothing else and might get you some extra fps. I do it with DCS and it made a difference.

Your GPU is ~ has almost doubble the power compared to my 1070, and ot has DLSS. Our CPUs are more or less the same but you have WAAAAY more RAM (64Gb?). And you have a SSD... So, you good mate 👍

Hi @MrTeabag55 (nice name😂). Yes. We are not even in the same league. A 4060 is about double, and 4070 close to three times more powerful then my 1070. Depends on the game of course. Then, the 4060 and 4070 both have DLSS 3 (AI upscaling) and Ray Tracing. And the 4070 has 12Gb of V-Ram (virtual memory); 1070 and 4060 has 8Gb of v-ram. All these are trates that benifit when playing the game. NOTE! Your other PC components affect the systems general performance. Strive for a setup that fits you budget WITHOUT introducing PC performance "bottlenecks". 👍 Maybe someone with a system similar to what you plan on building, or with more knowledge then us, can share their experience and help a fellow flight simmer in need of assistance here? #EntiredRetreatHelpers🙏

@@Pro052du973 In my somewhat limited knowledge, if your ram is fast enough (compared to my 2400Mhz) we are on par with each other. Your cpu and gpu is slightly "weaker" then mine, but not by much. 1080p gaming should at least be fine, especially if you have fast internet. Remember 40-45fps is a good level, and 30fps is perfectly playable.

I hope your right. On the 8th (in two days) my Msfs 2024 vs 2020 Side By Side Comparison video comes out. My Low End PC, game and recording settings, flight paths, time of day, time of year and weather were the same for both games during the test. And to my surprise, at this stage in Msfs24's development, it lost to Msfs20 as far as frame generation... Honestly, it surprised me... Hence, I invite other smart individuals with sharp eyes to comment on that video when it comes out. 👍

In this video, I used the Same PC and Exactly Same Settings when I flew Identical Flight Paths over the Same Locations and Areas. So, it is a TRUE Side By Side Comparison between the old and new game. #Spoiler... The old game performed better when it comes to fps... Agreed. The Cesnas landing gear would have taken a beating. I think, but do not quote me on this, that the wear and tear (partial crash physics) can only be toggled on in Career mode. And, at launch, Msfs2024 will not have global snd detailed "crash physics". But the wear of the airplane schould include stuff like the landing gear. I mean, I crashed at some point in all my Msfs 24 Tech Alpha Test videos. In New York into a bridge and in Lofoten Norway into the water of a Fjord, and the plane was allways fine. 😅

Could you share your full setup here in the chat? Maybe the Entired Retreat community can help us in figuring out if your PC could handle what you are asking? Rtx 4070 is a semi-powerfull gpu, so 2K ultra 30fps does initially sound like a reasonable target level.

In the future, I plan on dedicating a smaller area for the logos and the like, and they are going to be in the top middle instead of bottom middle. Reason for using the overlay in the center is simply the "short" formfactor; meaning that the overlay is visible in short edits this way. Othervice it could be in a corner somewhere. And, honestly, I have not decided on me "the avatar" being showcased on the screen for good... But, for some reason a video feed of a goofy masked dude has been a positive affect on my video watch times; and thats perfectly fine for me. And a performance overlay is going to be in the furure videos that benifit from it. Its a good thing that I already have "tickets" booked for the next "boat" passing by. 🛶 I listen, and I strive to learn 😅 Opinnions, critisism etc... all good. You have one, others may have a different one; well see what I end up doing on a regular basis with the overlay. Less obstructive is my first planned step. 👍

If series X, then yes because the XboxSX is way more powerful then this minimum spec pc I did the tests on. Even the XboxSS is more powerful. And this is the graphically capped/downgraded Tech Alpha. The full version should be alot better. 🤞

@patriotsix5880 Yes. And I believe that the photogrammetry was generally muted in the tech alpha. Though I am courious, as I understood Msfs24 will have first person game level graphics, whatever that then means. Whats your take on this? Personally I think of, lets say, PUBG type of graphical detail when I hear this claim. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤞 Surely not maybe everywhere at launch, of course. And happy flying to you as well. 👍

@@entiredretreat I am like you in that I don't know for certain but my instinct tells me that the first person will be good in areas outside of the photogrammetry cities. Like out in nature or handcrafted airports. Also in special designated areas and points of interest. I can't see it being great in all urban locations in the world. That would be an immense undertaking. We will know for certain very soon though.

I, ironocly, am afraid of flying and did a lighthearted promise to myself to learn the ins and outs of airplanes so I dare to step into one again. My Wife loves Japan, and we live in Finland... and promises have been made, so... 😅😨 But anyhow, to your question. Honestly, specificly the Msfs24 tech alpha runs similar to Msfs20 right now. I am going do side by side comparisons of the two and, with a system performance overlay, messure the real numbers as the game launches. Maybe even do some live streams, though there is some loss in quality as it is streamed pver the internet... So expect a mix of video recordings and live streams. I have high-ish hopes for the increased bandwith usage of Msfs24, and I hope it lessens the strain on hardware = more FPS and stunning graphics with less PC power. Assuming you internet bandwith is decent. My setup got ~ 30fps with low, and ~ 20fps with medium preset in urban centers in native 2k. Hope this helps. Dont be a stranger, stranger! Thank you, truly. I am glad my videos find the right audiance. Your observation captures the essence I stive to showcase. Hence I put my trusty old-ish pc to use as it is so close to the minimum spec Microsoft provided on their site. I have more similar tech alpha videos in the "pipeline". And I am courious over comparing the tech alpha to the final product launchin November 19th. So, expect more videos relating to that, and of course reviews on top of Entired Retreats more explorative location-topic combination videos.

@@keithrobson8649 My intention is not to block the view. Its an overlay that shares information and advertices the platforms @entiredretreat are found on. (TH-cam, Spotify, Discord and Patreon) We upload our location-topic combo videos to TH-cam with Gameplay and Audio Commentary, and as Pure Audio to Spotify. Hence the logo-overlays. Sadly though, as I recorded the Msfs24 Tech Alpha videos, my face-camera bugged out and changed to the black screen in the low-center part of the screen. Usually I record video of myself in that location. I got it fixed though, so in future videos the overlay video of me should be fine again. 🤞👍

I agree. I own a Series X, and its has waaaay more power then my Pc... Hence the name, "Low End Pc Test". And its the Msfs24 Tech Alpha with downgraded graphics. Hope the final product is more beutiful and runs alot smoother. 🤞 Im gonna do reviews, and videos that compare the tech alpha with the full game in the same locations and with the same settings.

@@roklaca3138 Im no specialist, and I am sure that some kind soul in the chat will help you and me out on this, but you have my setup beaten in every spec category... I think? Unsure about the CPU (cores&threads etc...), and I think a 3060ti has the 1070 clearly beaten. (Check the video description for mt setup.) So, your system will run the game fine. Remember, 40-45fps is a good target in my humble opinnion. Unless you go full on Maveric mode between skyscrapers, you do not NEED more then that in a flight-sim. Heck, even 30fps is perfectly playable. The only question is, that how much grafical beauty we want to squeeze out from our setups. 😄

Thanks for the info. I, as the description sais, have 16Gb of 2400Mhz Ddr4 ram. Fortis, I think the model was (2018, AMD compatible ram). Of cource, upgrading my PC is in the plans... 😏 But, in the mean time, if I can upload practical examples of my low end PC strained slightly more then actually needed (2K gaming & 2K recording), then the vast majority with similar setups are gonna get a similar, or better, gaming experience then what I get. So, in a way, I am trying to showcase the base where from everything should be better. 😅

What if my ram is basically unable to be changed? I have 16 gigs, I went to Best Buy, and they said that my ram was basically stuck on.

@@EmeryE2 If the ram is slower than the clock speed of your processor, then you would need to buy faster RAM. If you check Task Manager Performance Tab and your RAM is slower than your processor, pull the RAM and check the speed. If the RAM is rated as being faster than the CPU but is not running faster than the GPU, You would only have to enable XMP in BIOS and turn a profile. This is easy to do, but the exact steps would depend on your system

There is a lot of things here, like utilization, but it’s in percentages, there’s memory for the GPU ag 1.4 gigs, shared memory, dedicated memory, etc. what do I look at to compare CPU/GPU to ram speed?

Yes, possibly. It depends what kind of system you have seen the game run on. I do tests with a minimum specification pc, and it is the technical alpha build of the game. Microsoft emphazised that the graphics are not reprecenting the final product. So, take the graphics with a "grain of salt".

Ist the Technical Alpha, so there is no DLC or add ons availeable. Microsoft underlined that the graphics dop not reprecent the final product. So, fingers crossed that the release build of the game is better. I mean, they said that they aim for a graphical quality that is similar to first person games. A tall order, but lets hope they deliver.

Glad to hear! In theory, I could half (50% = 1080p) the rendering reslolution in the game settings. I found that native 2K is manageable for my system, about 70-85% rendering scale seems close in quality whilst my low end system gets that little "breather" and hence gains just enough head room to keep 30 fps when flying below about 500feet over city centers. But I think a 1080p comparison is a must, so thank you for the idea! So, 1080p and 2K low, medium, high and CRASH MY PC graphical settings comming up in future videos. 😅👍

Yes, nice to see how it perform at minimum settings. At presents I have a six years old pc, all Asus Rog Strix components. Slightly better then your. Cpu i7 7700X, GTX1080, 32 RAM , 1x500gb + 1x1Tb SSD and until now played on a 27" Samsung monitor 1920/1024. MSFS run smooth at high settings and don't know if it is worth upgrading (motherboard+cpu+graphic card+RAM) or not. My internet connection seems ok, is 100 Mb/s. I should have to invest a lot of money to upgrade it (about 1400 euro) I like GA, gliders and bushflying and I think would be good a video in the Idaho backcountry, as example with the new trees and ground texture. Can you show us exactly your actual msfs2024 settings? Where do you see the framedates in the video? Subscribed.

My thought is that if my minimum specification setup can run the game in a X-way in 2K whilst recording the results, then the vast majority can run it in a similar way, if not better. So, essentially, I am trying to create a base "worst case scenario" benchmark to learn from. My logic here is to strain the low end system slightly more then what is really needed, more then the average individual would; meaning gaming on my 2K Samsung monitor whilst recording in 2K to TH-cam, instead of playing in 1080p and recording in 1080p. This schould in theory leave some head room (more FPS) for those who decide to play Msfs 2024 in 2K or 1080p without background tasks taxing the system. Im really glad to hear that the video finds the right audience! Q&A: 1. In future videos, I plan on adding a system performance indicator as I record. My overlay was visible only for me in the Tech Alpha videos, but I strived to narrate the performance values to my best abilities so that the audience gets the information. 2. i ran msfs 2020 fine with 2700 and 3060 ti dont plan to upgrade any time soon for 2024 msfs

@@WorkingJuntos The Tech Alpha was a "downgraded" version of the game. World exploration, career and some trick flying were the game mode options. And only 3 airplanes were availeable. So the graphics were also downgraded. I was greeted by a emphazis/mention before playing the Alpha version, that the graphics are not the main point of intrest for Microsofts tests, and hence they (the graphics) were not fully reprecented in the alpha version. So, take the visuals in my Msfs24 videos with a grain of salt. Photogrammetry seemed like it was turned down at least. I mean, high and ultra graphics did not do much when I turned them up in the video. You can see a similar affect in my "Aokigahara forest, Mount Fuji and Tokyo " videos also. Those are out on my channel. Microsoft had shared that they strive for FP (first person) game level of graphics when walking on the ground..... OR WATER! Yes, you read that right --> Wait for my Lofoten-Norway video 😅😂 I also tried to walk up the Eifel tower... So I have a couple of videos comming soon as I just have finalized the edits. So, yes, I trust that the graphics will be better then Msfs2020.

Im sure it will look better. Microsoft emphazised that the graphics are not the main event in the tech alpha; instead they tested server funtionality and the like. The photogrammetry at least was not responding as I would assume it should. I have 100Mbs download and that, according to Microsift, schould be enough for the photogrammetry graphics. Im planning to do more content relating to Msfs2024, including graphical performance as the game launches. Focusing on the Lower Specification Pc's. This then schould give us a good comparison between the tech alpha and the full game. Let me know what details interest you and I strive to include these in my future creations. 👍
