The difference here is your both focusing on different things. She is focusing on who she likes more as a person, so Amber may not be as written as strongly. On the other hand if you thought of her as a person who isn't supposed to contribute to a story, who can make mistakes that don't need to aid a plot she'd just be a flawed person you could still get. So of course she wouldn't like Omni Mam cause actually killing people is much less forgivable then being a toxic person. But how we tend to look at this, Amber could've explored and innovatived on the relationship tropes found in superhero media if she'd been a move forgivable person. While Omin Man for what his character explores in the story requires him to do really messed up stuff thats has dramatic weight. I agree with you i definitely like Omni Man more than Amber but having this discussion is a lil redundant cause I think the both of you mostly agree on everything just you both focused your tastes in media in different areas

She's not wrong it's like the discourse around Skylar in breaking bad, female character are in short supplies and often read as annoying (either because they're stupid, mean or total mary sues) while we've seen all sort of violent and heinous male characters (drug lords, war criminals) being redeemed or at least embraced by audiences. This is not about Omniman being bad or unlikable she definitely kind of mischaracterised him but it's way more about the writters seeming to have infinite supply of forgiveness for their evil guys with whole arcs about how they're victim of circumstances or their ego but can't even write conflict in a relationship without the woman coming out as annoying and badly written. This critic still feels more sensible when it comes to Breaking Bad with Skylar and Walter having a more comparable screentime than Omni-man and Amber of all characters. Her main hold up is not seeing people separate liking a character vs. condoning said character's actions. Example. One of my favorite villians in all of media is Goku Black and Zamasu. From their designs, their abilities, their motives, etc. I find them just super cool and love them to the point, when i have some cash stacked up, im getting a tattoo referencing Rosé. Now, with me being the #1 Black and Zamasu glazer, do i think they are "good" characters? No. They are undoubtedly evil.
