Yes, you can record 2 separate tracks. However I don't think it is good for instrument recording. A dynamic mic would be the right choice for that.

Thank you for your friendly remarks. I did not enable the dynamic range boost on the GH6. To be honest, I ended up selling it on ebay and I bought the G9 II instead which is now my main production work horse. I am very happy about the swap

I believe that many of this third-party lightning to 3.5 mm audio adapters are faulty

@@ParadiseBizz nope i bought trs adapter, not TRRS actually. So after studing TRRS have 4 pins and TRS only 3 i realized mistake. But even comica in its manualna forget to mention that. Finally comica facebook support helped me :)

The Sigma has strong chromatic abberations, which I personally don’t like. They’re easy to remove on photos but difficult in videos. I personally prefer the Meike 55 mm over the sigma 56. On top the sigma is an APS-C Lens the Meike 55 mm is a full frame lens that you can use for everything.

But if it is regardless the money, than I would suggest to go for this one: amzn.to/407HaLB - it is so much better than all the others, especially when you want something cinematic.

Yes, it does fit on APS-C cameras and performs excellent

The AF works great on both lenses. On the 55mm Pro it is a bit quieter and it is superior in video mode

The Meike will give you an f1.4 - But you need to decide if you can live with these relatively strong chromatic aberrations on high contrast that are not in focus. Since it can be reduced in post production I think the Meike could be right for you amzn.to/402tEIV

Do pros use the Camera's internal mic?

@@H2o3G2a no but it still gets picked up through the shotgun attached to the hotshoe.

@@PaulFeinberg Then something must be wrong with your mic. Any budget directional mic will have absolutely no issues, let alone a pro one. There are much louder things on set or outside.

@@H2o3G2a You would always use an external mic, whether it is a Boom mic, or a wireless mic. What you could do is to mix the recording of the in camera mic with your external mic's recording, to add some ambient noise.

It works plug and play with every recording app on the iPhone. No additional app required

I think it was a great choice. This is hands down the best lens Meike has produced so far. I love it, and I am so glad they stepped up their game.

In all fairness, I think my lens was defective. Some of my subscribers told me that their focus was not as noisy
