It’s a good video, but how do you set up the oscilloscope sign wave displayed to that size in the display so you can see it clipping? I have the same unit and it’s so small. I can’t see or increase the height of the wave like you have did because I can’t see it. So how did you adjust it to that?

Have the pistons been changed? How long do the original pistons hold?

my 2015-2020 escalade goes up to volume 63- even at volume 40-45 the 40hz 5db test tone makes me extremely nervous. that shit is so loud i feel like i might blow or damage one of the 16 factory speakers (ive blown one in the past to 50 cent - im supposed to die tonight). so, trying to figure out how to use the damn oscilloscope while the VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR sound is blaring makes me uncomfortable. i got the waves to fly at a million miles an hour but figured maybe id at least be able to catch where it clips, but i turned the gain all the way up and the waves just got hectic as fk and i never saw clipping so i must be using the shitty o scope wrong. either way i replugged in my speaker wire and figured fk it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is INCORRECTLY performed. The power measurement value should be for AC. Amplifiers speaker output (+, -) is measured in AC. He's also got the V/DIV voltage value incorrectly set. It was set to 20v DC I believe. I implore all of you to please read more on this subject. Yes it is relatively easy to set your clipping point with a scope, once you understand how to. This guy clearly skipping his research and thought it would be self explanatory enough once he had a scope in hang. Take the time to read up on this subject, and not hinge all the money and time your spent on your car audio setups solely on this video. There's no guarantee this information is accurate, and if it ultimately leads to you blowing your amps, YOUR THE one that's going to be left, sinking more cash in to this. Your equipment will eventually fail, if it's done improperly. Be objective, and validate the information using multiple sources. Hope this helps.

Don't you want to keep the amps loaded while setting gains? Wont the load effect the clipping point? I see people doing it both ways, but under load seems like it could be a more accurate practice

Hello I had those Kind of issues let us know your settings that sounds to me like un balance engine I had a n/a vg with a bent rod Water 💦 leak on the ecu make misfire on cilíndre 5 wow a bent rod just for a bad ecu in my case take everything I found chips on the cilínder walls caused from the bender rod . Hope you can fix 😢check porosity on pistons they are made from aluminum the tend to crack when the are old and in cold 🥶 environment …condensation the corrosion 🙏🏾😃🇵🇷

I know im late af but if anybody sees this with a 4th gear grind. Changing the trans fluid fixed it for me. My case was leaking. Working on that this week.

I was going to buy the dd1 then I read that the oscope was more versatile as it can account for voltage drop and a few other things ...lol...then I remembered that 3 years ago when I had a mystery problem with my can bus I had bought an oscope but figured out the issue before it arrived and that scope was still new in the box deep in my closet ...lol...so the choice between the $200 dd1 and the already paid for scope was simple .
