Follow me on instagram: replicatedmetal Some 9 string djent followed by death metal riffs. Used the 5150 amp knob with low tuned IR pack for the rhythm guitar tone and the 5153 amp knob with the lead ir pack for the lead section. Drums are done with the Krimh Drums free library. The intro and the first fill are from the groove pack included in the free library.

The 9th string is officially one too many. Sounds way too muddy even with the perfect tone. There's basically no difference between the open string and the first few frets if anything else is going on in the mix.
In this mix yeah, horrible tone, but there's plenty of people that make it sound nice.
@@Davix-tt9sh But at this point what does it provide that you don't already have in an 8-string, except short term novelty? Diminished playability of all the other strings, with no significant gain in terms of tonal choice given how low and heavy the 8th already is.
@@maximeb190 i'm honestly an 8 string guy, and i tune to EAEADGBE (occasionally go down half step). The c# sounds great in After the Burial songs, and they used to tune to c#A#D#G#C#F#A#D#. Loathe also tunes to C#AED on the lowest strings so you can tune an 8 to C#AEADGBe and have the range of a 9 without the extra inconvenience of an extra string. The c# sounds Cool tho

Well that was insane, but dude that Aristides needs its own video ASAP. What do you think of them btw? Worth the money? I'm interested because it's all synthetic material... A guitar that never needs a setup?
Thanks man! Working on a video with the Aristides, should be out in a week. Its a highly resonant guitar that plays like a dream, doesnt feel like a 9 string at all. The compound radius flattens out the fretboard towards the higher frets and playing the upper frets feels better than I ever expected, its actually good for lead work too! Tuning stability is great and has a great tone too. Prefer the headless to the regular model, its light and resonant and easy to pick up and play seated. Is it worth the money? I say it is, but its all subjective at the end of the day.

@@replicatedmetal As far as actual feedback goes, the only negative thing I can really give is the lyric contents. Surprisingly, you can actually hear them, that voice is pretty clear. "Fuck you" and the "push the button" in particular kind of diminished it for me. In the other terms, nah, this is jamming. Listened to it a few times already. :p

A Cavalera fan for sure but was not in mind when doing this but now that you mention it it might have been inspired subconsciously. I actually did layer the clean/growl part together initially but for some reason decided them to be separate on the final version
Now that's a video to watch to set the mood for the song. I had my girlfriend accompanying me in my version. (Your clean backings are awesome, btw!)
