Does the maximizer assume you aren’t using pre-tax money to pay taxes?
Great content, as always! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Even with ss. People are facing a tough retirement. and it's even harder for workers to save due to low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire in.
The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and save for the future. I'm concerned about whether those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am currently experiencing. The combination of stock market volatility and a decrease in income is causing anxiety about whether I'll have sufficient funds for retirement.
It's recommended to save at least 20% of your income in a 401k. 'Joseph Nick Cahill' taught me to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. I've been with him for years now and his decades of experience in the markets translate to chunks of value in so many ways! he has upscaled my portfolio and even got me reading self help books haha

Joseph Nick Cahill is his name. He is regarded as a genius in his area and works for Empower Financial Services. He's quite known in his field, look-him up.

On my computer, the computer screens shown during the examples are really fuzzy and difficult to read.
Does it take into consideration how you qualify for ACA subsidies? Insurance costs are are a big factor.
No, the program does not currently model ACA subsidies, which can depend on income. However, these could likely be entered manually into the program using Special Expenses and Receipts.
This video seems to be very low resolution, only 360p??? Both from email link and on your TH-cam channel.
Is the Net Investment Income Tax built into the Roth Conversion Optimizer? Specifically, does sit take into account for the need to liquidate some appreciated stock to fully transfer balances from the Traditional IRA the Roth?
Yes, the NIIT is taken into account in MaxiFi as our realized capital gains. You tell the program how much you have in unrealized capital gains and it will estimated any taxes you may owe if you need to draw from Regular Assets (like your Brokerage) to facilitate paying any conversion taxes.
@@lyonfp Thank you so much! Really impressive program, can't wait to dive in.
Well, one two three how about me... look to the sea and I'll tell you t9 get your glow on
I hope you're doing well! Your Video is very interesting, I like your content! But your channel is not well-optimised, Video "SEO" score is very low. That's why your channel rank is very low in Subscribers and video views. If you fix the "SEO" area in your Video, you get huge audiences.
Just got Phil's new book - LOTS of information, exactly what I was hoping for.
Great discussion and excellent information. Thanks!
Would be so much easier to follow video stills with scripted text that edits out the usual human verbal tics (um, ah, oh, I forgot to mention... etc.) But thanks for the effort.
So great to hear from my two long distance financial mentors. I even bought copies of Spend to the End for friends, and Scott’s column Dare to Die Broke was a real eye opener about factoring actual life expectancy into retirement spending. Larry also gave me a free copy of his Maxi software due to my being a minister. Thanks again for your generosity. I laughed when Scott talked about buying a manufactured home in a park where you own the land because that’s exactly what we have done as well. The monthly cost in our park is under $300 including grass cutting, water, sewer, trash, cable TV, and internet. Not to mention Pickleball, tennis, pool, and a small gym. Taxes are a third of our previous house. The park literally across the street is $1200. Good advice, as usual.
The video's top resolution is 360p which is too low to read the graphics. If the original recording is available and is of higher resolution, please reload it.
Many thanks for the video and topic. Kudos to Kevin for such a generous contribution to the public with his free tool.
Video resolution is very poor. Can't really read the screen.
Obviously, a very intersting and smart guy. But, I'm with Bogle, on non-U.S. investing: I've pulled-up comparison charts, going back to about 1970. Except for some brief periods, non-U.S. markets, collectively, have absolutely SUCKED. I'm a patient person..but their obscene, chronic, underperformance is simply LUDICROUS. I'm sure that they'll pay-off at some point..but I'm too old to wait for that CENTURY.
Thank you for the explanation. Very clear, concise, and easy to understand. Perhaps a more detailed explanation on taxation, specially for taxable accounts, will be very useful. thanks for sharing
I remember when David Walker served. Great guest. It’s perhaps unsurprising though that an economist by training and a CPA by training can have an hour long conversation about ‘sustainability’ and ‘deficit’ with only a passing and dismissive reference in the last minutes to ANYTHING resource or environmental related. Extreme weather is here, NOW, destroying infrastructure, physical assets, agricultural production, reducing livable land, and so on. Emissions to date mean extreme weather and destruction WILL increase even if emissions stopped now. Which they won’t. Even these 2 thoughtful and rational men aren’t worried about deficit resource consumption. But lands scoured bare and barren produce few returns. I’ve used ESP software for 10 years to guide my economic planning and will continue to do so. Nevertheless modern economics based on unsustainable growth is just another form of magical thinking. Even if their economic proposals were in place tomorrow, there isn’t any reason to think they would delay or reduce impacts like yesterday’s hurricane and tornadoes in Texas.
RE: retiring at 62. I just made the decision in a span of about 3 days to retire at 63 because-life. Adult child with brain hemorrhage that needs my time at least as much as i need my money. It’s got noting to do with “smarter” Further, i suddenly developed really limiting arthritis and having the time and freedom from a desk to increase movement is the only thing that’s going to keep me functional for the next 15 years. Being able to model real life is valuable. I am glad I started using this about 8 years ago, because it requires a lot of workarounds to be accurate. Now I need to model peeling off a large chunk of assets to pay for LTC for someone else, a lot younger. Moving to a wheelchair accessible home. Out of state. Loss of income, loss of savings, risk aversion.
Well done. Excellent detailed explanation of TIPS, which included the practical steps of actually building a ladder! One piece of information that may have eluded a more casual viewer is that the investment in the TIPS ladders will have been totally spent by the end to meet the inflation adjusted income needs.
You should apply these techniques to the federal budget for the next 40 years...show the countries' options...
The software seems powerful and helpful, but yes, quite blurry
