    Decent design. Only thing that pops up is that it needs paint or covering of some sort.

    Hi Tyler, I had just completed a similar tool rack for my shed yesterday and just saw this video now. The difference is that mine is rectangular. They really are a space saver. I made a notched shelf that uses high space to hang mattocks and picks. I really like the use of door as shelf space, as I go along I will see what I can adapt. I don’t have as much room. Thanks for sharing your creation.

    Although u have Drip edge on your shed (which is good), shingles should still overhang about an inch. Also the OSB shouldn't ever be exposed to the elements long term. Otherwise great job 👏🏽 👍🏼 👌🏽

      That chip board ply-board is never OK on exterior or exposure to wet conditions. A good soaking from a thunderstorm and closing the shed up wet for a few days and you've got big big de-lamination issues with chip board. I like some of the storage ideas, just use exterior grade plywood to survive the elements.

    You should turn the smooth laminated side to the outside so that rain water, etc. bead off, and the shed will last much longer, and don't forget to paint that ugly thing.

      Thank you for watching and your comment. I didn't get there in 2020. But I was able to hike it in late-June 2019 without any issues by hiking the Maple Lake route described in the Red Lake article on tylerwangsgard.com. Most of the pictures in the photo album on that page are from that trip. It's such a nice hike that's not too long and has just the right amount of challenge for kids of all ages. I hope you get the chance to hike it sometime.

      I drilled a large hole in the top front of the wheelbarrow and then screwed in a large J hook (like you'd hang a bike from) into the rafter. I think I had to bend the hook a little to get it to fit in easily.

    Q #1: Are those nails or screws that are holding the gardening hand-tools on the inside door @ the 1:02 mark. :) I worry about driving a nail or screw thru the other side of the wall and it poking outside! lol We're getting our Tuff Shed installed soon and I'm combing thru TH-cam videos for organization ideas. Q#2: Were those shelves on the door (by the tools) bought pre-made or did you make those yourself? Nice job either way! thanks for posting this.

    • @TylerWangsgard
      @TylerWangsgard 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      #1 They are construction screws. The door frame is built out of 2x2s with OSB on the exterior and then some OSB on the interior at the bottom for those hand tools. The screws are only about an inch long and only penetrate into the dead space behind the interior sheet of OSB. #2 The shelves are custom made out of 1/4 inch plywood brad nailed together and then screwed into the 2x2 frame (on the sides). Thanks for the compliments.
