Creekside Camping in Colorado - ASMR Camping - Jeep Gladiator

This beautiful campsite next to a creek was the perfect place to take our Jeep Gladiator, unwind, and soak in everything nature had to offer. The snow line is holding steady at 9k to 10k feet. Compared to last year it's going to be just a little longer before we can make our way further up in elevation. We are itching to get out and do some challenging trails! The Quest for the BEST off road FAMILY trailer (Boreas XT Camper) [ep 131]
Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ I had an ex-girlfriend from Vermont, went and spent a couple of weeks one Thanksgiving season and visited many of the covered bridges, as a Carpenter I find them, very beautiful and fascinating. Thanks for the great video ✌️🇺🇲
Nice!! Are those tires the STT Pros? How many miles have you put on them and what’s your real-world feedback on them?
Question about rear driveshaft. You didn’t state anything about out changing the rear 2 piece driveshaft. Did you install a spacer for the center carrier?
Nope no spacer, angles are still fine on the rear drive shaft. Most people will leave the rear drive shaft if at 3.5"
What suspension mods? Curious. I have a 23 Mojave. I'm willing to upgrade from the OE Fox 2.5s. I've had XJs and ZJs with IRO control arms and Clayton springs and bilsteins. So this is already one big upgrade for me.
3.5" metalcloak, rocksport long travel, adams driveshaft, chromoly rear axle shafts, 4.88 gears, fusion 4x4 2.5t steering
Just dropping this here, but there's an over head mounting thing that doesn't require any drilling.. Have it on mine, and is great. Just unbolt the freedom top lever catches, place the panel in place, put the catches over top of the panel mount points, and bolt back in. Super easy.
that's good to know!!
Man, you missed a few more spots! Love to show you a few spots. Sugar Bush Farm in Quechee, King Arthur Baking in Norwich, The Vermont Country Store in Weston, oh and The Apple Pie Festival in Dummerston, VT on Columbus day weekend. I love going to VT and finding different places.
this is greet! I really do want to go back out to the UP, I would love to discover it with my son and show him michigan,. And you better get used to me, because I might have found a new favorite youtube channel.. love your content.
I really want to get these for my gladiator. If I have the Voswitch jl400, can I wire to it?
yeah these are such low voltage you can trigger them from pretty much any aux unit
Did it seem like the white jeep had too much air in his tires?
We're all aired down. Videos make it always look like we're not.
That mining was responsible for the development of the mineral districts up in higher elevations of Colorado and other Western States. Great content but lots of “They raped the lands moralizing” ignoring these area’s history.
great point!
Got a 21 mojave same color and love it.
NOICE!
Is anyone having problems with the left side smaller? Ben not stain at 7°, for example.? I have mine set at 7°, and it will fluctuate all the way up to 23, all the way back down to 10°. However, I did put a thermometer in there and it does seem to stay between 10 and 14° though.
I've lived in Boone my whole life. God's country indeed.
For sure!
It ain't that hard. 40 years ago pulling a 25' Shasta trailer wirh a Chrystler Newport. I love Colorado
The village of Quechee is pronounced "kwee-chee" --- not "kweh-chee". I made that same error after I moved to Vermont. Be warned: The locals WILL correct you with the pronunciation.
haha i dont doubt that! thanks!
Just a friendly reminder to all the adventurous viewers of this video. The trailer is Australian designed for Australian vehicle's. In Australian vehicles, the drivers side is the right side when sitting in a vehicle so the fold-out/cargo holder sticks out on the drivers side so the driver is more aware of it and the solar panel is commonly strapped to the cargo holder, not placed on the ground. Also, when on-road, other motorists tend to keep away &/or give plenty of room to vehicle's that are towing when possible. Happy camping 😉
Ah that makes a lot of sense now! Thanks for the explanation!
Schaden Villages
Great video you guys very informative on my favorite part of michigun
So there are dispersed camping sites along the Alpine Loop? I know there are legit camp grounds here and there but rather just be on my own and away from all that.
I hear you! There's no camping on the loop. In fact camping is pretty sparse around silverton and in that immediate vicinity. We had good luck up South Mineral (585), its only 15 minutes outside of town off 550
What’s the suspension set up ?
3.5" Metalcloak Gamechanger, Rocksport shocks, Adams driveshaft, chromoly rear shafts, Fusion 2.5t steering
Thanks!!
How are the RockSports for trails? I have Fox Shocks on ATM and am ordering my MC GC 3.5" lift kit this weekend and can't decide which shocks to pick up Fox or Rocks
Honestly we really love them. They do have their drawbacks though, like running sand dunes, or washboard roads. They get hot quick without that remote resi! But at $100 a piece it's a good hold-you-over until you can really think about what you want on there.
what are those shock looking things on the front of the mojave
Those are front sway bar disconnects from Apex called autoLYNX. One little turn and the front sway is disconnected. Been running them for years, highly reccommend!
This looks like a trail that s stock 4x4 full size pickup with highway tires could easily do, and see some beautiful scenery!
It sure is! Very accessible!
glad you enjoyed the tasters tour… plenty more still explore
Brave taking that Lexus on Eagle Rock. I think you guys did great! Been on this trail 7 to 8 times. I would not recommend taking that Lexus on it… so…great job!!!
Thanks Scott! Yeah he did good!
Whoopie pies,maple candy
I don't drink coffee, but i enjoyed watching 😃
Thanks Patrick!
I did grizzly lake a couple years ago in my gx470 on 285/70/17. Gatekeeper took 3 tries and had to winch higher up on the shelf road when i lost momentum. The views at the end were worth it.
hah that had to have been a blast!!
congrats y'all
Thank you!!!
that sign looks good there 😌
🧡🧡🧡
Cool dude, keep up the work!
Thank you!! 🧡🧡🧡
Cool!
🧡🧡🧡
Spoke too soon. Those new reservoir shocks are almost $2.5K
ikr! pricey!
I wish we still had Grizzlies 😂. Nice video
haha I dont! LOL and thanks!! 🧡🧡🧡
You run Carnage?
No....but I'm pretty curious about it....
You by chance know how heavy the bumper is? I’m trying to keep my front end relatively light, stock style steel bumper for now but want a winch soon too. Stock one probably weighs 70-80lbs(including winch plate) and if I add a winch that’s probably another 70-80lbs easy.
Its like 25lbs! We went with aluminum specifically to keep things light weight. And it's taken abuse and no regrets not going steel.
just did great American crawl at crossbar in oklahoma 🤷 u wernt their🤷😆😆🤙😎
Bro some people gotta work! 😛 Aren't you living that retired life?!!! 😛😛😛 Wheeled with a good group out of TX last week in the San Juans. Good group another TH-cam fan here on the channel. A trip down to TX is def going to happen at some point!
im getting the itch to go back to colorado soon😝😝 where we wheeling at🤪🤷
lfg. Yansing Gulch (Chinamens Gulch). We have so unfinished business there. Then maybe some shelf roads up to 12k ft to some old mine ruins to get you that taste of Colorado. Bring txjeepdad with you!
awsome jeeps
🤘
Serious question. I see some amazing built rigs and wonder why don’t you just use your winch instead of try more complicated angles at the beginning? Just was wild to see you stacking rocks and mashing expensive jeeps against the same rock over and over again. Winch that you pull right up?
That's a fantastic question. For a capable driver, and a capable rig, approaching obstacles like this is a classic man-vs-himself. There's only one graceful way up, and this varies between rigs. And at least for us, it's about finding the right piece...the right line that requires the least amount of effort. Our rigs are actually built for just this. So what you see happening, is well within the operating limits of the different components that we've installed. Our jeeps capabilities far exceed what we are mentally prepared to take them on, so obstacles like this are in most aspects, an exercise in mental fortitude. In most cases, we'll try 3-4 times and will have no problem pulling line. But people are different! And I won't lie when I say that there's a little bit of pride and ego that comes into play with what we do. Hope this answers your question!
I found your channel by searching for Dyersville videos after having gone there today. Your content and production is fantastic! We love exploring and, as I’m going through your videos, I’m getting so many great ideas for our next adventures. With onX Offroad open in another tab…I salute you!
Cheers!! Thanks for the kind words and have fun on your adventure!!!
Throw your 2 young men into swags and let the sleep outside under the awning. Keep the living area inside for chilling out. Stay in one place for longer so its worth your time setting up the amazing annex room. That would be my fix. Thanks for the great content. You make the unit look so attractive. B
That's not a bad idea!
@@FarFromOrdinary I have no where to store the camper and my car won't tow it, but i still want one!!
Im from Australia and thinking about buying this Jackson model. You have a beautiful family and i appreciate your candid, honest opinions on this trailer experience.
Thank you for such a nice comment!
great vid. I have a Mojave too so its awesome to see it hang with the Rubicons
Thanks man! Yeah it can def hang. Driver skill is 90% of it.
Rubicon is better for slow rock trails 👉🏻🪨
Says who?
@@FarFromOrdinary mojave suspension is better for long speed tracks bud
@@ChrisWZM we don't even have OEM suspension anymore
I see that CG Cookie t shirt!
LOL! Used to be their developer!
The Shelf Road soundtrack reminds me of Star Gate. Your work and adventures are awesome, Tyty.
Glad you enjoyed it!
My great grandfather was a coal miner here, I have his marriage and coal miner certificates ! So sick to finally find a video of where my family started !
He came from Yugoslavia on the boats through Ellis west west, made money in the silver mines, built a house and gained some land and he then sent off for his bride she came over stayed for a few in van Houten and then headed to Ohio to meet with his family when he had enough money amazing story
man this is so damn cool!! Really glad you were able to find this video. We did a lot of research into Van Houten and there's not a whole lot of info. But we did manage to find a small pamphlet that is rich with photos and stories and maps. I saw your message on IG, will shoot you our email and maybe we can get you pics of all the pages.
OWWWCH!
haha yeah! felt that one in my teeth LOL
Since that one gladiator also has the stock wheels like me, do you have wheel spacers? I can’t fully turn without rubbing. Looks like you can. What spacer brand and size do you have? Thanks! For the gladiator with 37’s and stock wheels
We had the same setup for years, and ran 1.75" Synergy 5x5 spacers with our stock wheels
@@FarFromOrdinary any clue if the 1.5” spacers will work with the stock wheels and 37x12.5 tires? Or do we have to get the 1.75”? Lol. I just want the least tire poke but also full turn lol and less stress on everything
@appalachhaun_adventures I've been running 1.5 spidertrax (front only). No rubbing. If you get spacers make sure they're a quality brand, hub centric and torqued to spec.
@@BillyBennecke thanks dude!
@@appalachhaun_adventures were you planning on lifting the truck as well?
