Hey buddy, how are ya? It was just the perfect morning, i hope to go back there this year. Well, living in a similar place like this doesnt leave much for wanting? Ide give my pinky toe to live in a spot like this =)

Oh yes, it gets hot but can be kept under somewhat control with right gearing and a good fan. I had some cutouts where throttle went down to safe mode, ofc in the long run I think it would fail at some point.

Some parts are Very rough, this spot had some nasty bigger rocks here and there. Gyro was more helpful on snow/ice than this dirt, but for gravel/rocks i turned it way down or it would shoot of to one side sometimes just spinning out. It does okay, its more my hands and reflexes that are not up to speed. Thanks, and sorry about the Very late reply.

@@DirtyRC101 No worries man. I appreciate the response. I'm still looking for the rule that says we have to respond to comments. ha ha.. I would be honored to get a response even a year latter. We all have other things to deal with and I think making TH-cam videos is an up and down adventure. It's good to take a break for your own health but it hurts the analytics. lol I think for my channel to become more successful I would need to collaborate or hire someone to either drive or shoot video. Doing both takes some of the fun out of it.

@@RCRoads I hear ya and thanks for beeing so understanding and cool about it. If i could choose i would drive, let someone else do the running, although it Is fun to shoot :) It almost got to the point where it felt like work trying to create good angles, nice paths, decent vids and so on when you are new to the RC world and editing programs and what not..

@@DirtyRC101 So true. I got into RC's by chance. I wanted to do reviews and instructional videos on electrical components. That was so boring to me I needed to come up with something else. Something with action and moving parts. RC cars and planes are like actors and you can film them and actually come up with something entertaining. I'm slowly learning and realizing my limitations. 😀 As for Video editing I use DaVinci Resolve and I really love the program.

Tbh I could have stayed with stock motor/esc because its fast enough. Its pretty substantial difference going from 3 to 4s, 4s is just wild on all levels. And the EZ setup offers a bit more control with parameters. I would run the stock til it's dead if your happy with it and it fits your needs. I have a mamba system on my TRX 4 that I run on 4s sometimes, quite hilarious and difficult to drive 🙂

@@DirtyRC101 Thanks dirty RC. I already picked up the EZrun system this last weekend because it was very reasonably priced and I had a $25 coupon burning a hole in my pocket. I already have it installed in my 1/10 scale Sunfire but I don't have any 4s batteries and just wanted to stack in 2 - 2s. I'm sure that wont fit in my Sunfire but possibly the Typhon will. I really want to try out 4s but as you say things get kind of crazy with too much power.

@@RCRoads I really havent looked at prices recently but i suspect as with everything else they´ve gone up.. So any deal one can make is good. I just looked up the Sunfire rc and the buggys look really nimble and will without doubt be fast. But i wonder about that battery holder, that wont hold a 4s normal sized battery i think, unless you go down in milliamps? I use Zop power 5000mah 4s in the Typhon, it fits really neatly. Wich exact model do you got?

@@DirtyRC101 I was at the hobby store today looking for a 3s that would fit into the Sunfire with the stock battery holder and it was a no go. I think 4s would be way to big especially with the shape of the body. Besides 4s would probably be a bit much for the drivetrain. I'll run it on 3s just to see what speed I can get and then move it to my Typhon where it belongs. I actually have 2 Sunfires (Exceed RC HSP Brushless) and my Typhon is the 3s BLX with Spectrum electronics.

Hey man, been awhile! Was my first go at watching proper top fuel 😀 Been working alot and vacation starts tomorrow, on the road now up north in my mobile home I got a month ago. What you been upto then? Getting any vacation? 🍻🥳

Oh yeah I got a lake camp. That I’ve been at a lot. It’s amazing here this time of year beautiful clear water to swim in. No time to RC, but boat and play. When winter comes I’ll get out the toys....

Dude epic bugs where I live....like can’t be outside or you would die....no joke like uncountable on screens in evening.....don’t come visit me in May or June wait for August. I just head few miles to ocean outta the woods and no bugs.....we’ll bugs you can deal with not death bugs lo!! Family doing well almost done school so wife teaches and kids in so everyone about to be free for summer!!

@@rcarty419 That is so awesome, got any travel plans now that most restrictions are gone? We get like a zillion of blood sucking mosquitos and these others that looks like a bee but these don't sting,, they will literally take a chunk of yer skin if you are not quick enough and smack em 😜

It weighed about 9 pounds maybe? Only time i had problems with it was when i blasted it up and down the sand dunes without letting up, that time it got hot. There is always 1200kv if you need even more grunt.

@@DirtyRC101 yea im kinda leaning towards the 1200kv simply because the sheer weight and mass the hgp408 has but its hard to find longevity vids of the fusion systems in heavyweight rigs amd 6 to 9 lbs seems to be the average weight range of the rigs its put in and pushed hard

@@timmerz8569 Well ive bashed the living daylight out of the 1800kv one through ice, water (completely submerged), sticky arse mud, jumped with it, had a kid go basically full throttle on first gear an entire battery and my trx4 got full brass in the front except the axle itself and brass outer portals in the rear, was in my defender awhile, no issues at all. I cant see myself doing such a thing with a rig like the hgp408. I personally think the 1200kv is a safe bet.

@@DirtyRC101 the hg needs electronics stock esc has no brake between fwd and rev or any drag brake and terrible throttle control at lowend the stock servo dont have the power to move the wheels when on its own weight unless moving and the 16ch dual stick transmitter only had a range of 60 feet not meters as described in manual it wouldnt even cross the road lol i like the feel of the build but all electronics are garbage and if i went w a fusion i wouldnt exactly hammer the rig weather i went w an 1800kv or a 1200kv the extra wheelspeed of 1800 might be ok occasionally but for an all round trail rig to hike with i think the 1200 would bee the cooler running smartest option to get the most runtipe per pack i can get

@@DirtyRC101 all good news furthering my case justifying a fusion purchase 1080 wld prob get me closer to how i want it to handle throttle brake wise but the foc technology is really appealing and it boast large runtimes because of the foc efficiency and bl in general is more efficient than brushed 1080 and a 20ish to 30ish turn 550 motor would be

Thank´s man, do you use any gimball or just freestyle it? I used to like driving there until i had to work on my Arrma rigs, a total PITA with rocks and what not getting stuck in the drivetrain wich in itself was a pain servicing.. Heh i tried driving on it but there was tiiny stumps that would get caught on the axle, no way around it =) I think i could throw it against a wall and it wouldnt break, everything just flexes💥

Freehand......that’d be one horrible gimbal. Maybe someday....for now I’m doing good to have an RC in my hands for 20 or 30 extra minutes phone works.......it would be very nice, I fly drones with sister in law who has gimbals like everywhere. Her cameras cost as much as my real car though lol

@@rcarty419 I wouldnt dare dragging such expensive equipment out in the forrest, i had that in mind when i bought my phone for example =) Ive been looking at a dji mini se drone, would be really cool to get some footage when im up north. Which drone is your fav?

It’s for hire so it’s her income. Super cool I just drive her outback into woods with my tea truck.....and assist. I personally wouldn’t get the FPV it kinda makes me feel icky after a few minutes. But man they are so cool. I’m way more into crawling!! Right other day it was outta signal now it just drives itself home but it’s like wow so much money just disapeared because drones expensive then mapping cameras etc. but then it just flew back to us on its own. They are ARA550057 2HO, comes with the Arrma Typhon 3s.

You went about it the same way i did when i got the rig, performance first =). I actually went with HW fusion 2in1 first, love that motor. I am about to change tires soon but the rims are Axial 1.9 Walker Evans, tires are Proline hyrax Trencher with proline 2 stage foams (hard). The shocks are stock (havent found any reason to change them), just got *no oil* in them except for a few drops mainly for lubrication, springs are 0.61 (0.39 stock?) spring rate, it adds a nice floppiness to it when you ride over rocks and roots and the body is somewhat heavy. Added hex extenders for abit more side stability. Installed Mip Moore HD drive train. Rocksliders in metal, cant remember brand and the standard brass parts as you know. Metal front/rear bumper and metal grill, thats about it i think. Dont think it´ll ever be finished, thank god most trinkets are cheap compared to the hardware.. Did you replace the transmitter?

@@DirtyRC101 yeah I was aiming for reducing the cg as low profile first. I have a couple springs didn’t try yet the harder or softer one. I figure if the receiver ever crap out I’ll see into changing the tqi transmitter. I guess another channel to lock the rear diff only could be tempting but I didn’t find a situation where this would have helped. I wouldn’t mind a smoother trigger for slow crawl. Anyway thanks for sharing will look the next adventure. I’m also mainly trailing in forest and crossing little stream with spares rocks formation here and there.

@@VeilofApocryphon But really those rigs arent known to have low cg so i never really bothered with it, add weight and drive accordingly..sort of, if i want low cg ill goto my Sport version and send it. I no longer use stock electronics, but i use 100% drag brake with a modest powercurve and low punch setting.

Trx4 does not have drag brake only brake ypu have is the trigger it has no hill hold Rolls backwards as soon as you stop giving throttle , totally a piece of junk
