As a person who drives a sedan car, I am just in awe of what a Jeep can do. Such an awesome spot to camp! Those burgers looked amazing.

My fear would be getting stuck alone in the middle of no where...having had it happen while living in BC while out exploring some forestry roads north of Chilliwack...it is something that has stuck with me ever since. Just got caught up in all the beauty and didn't really consider that I may not be able to get back up some of the places that I went down with only a rear-wheel drive truck. Silly me. lol Continue to enjoy the journey!!

Why do these morons think it okay to turn a beach into a road? Keep your stupid trucks off the trails and beaches and don't drive thru creeks just cos' you saw it on a TV ad . Its destructive and ignorant. 99% of people hate seeing this shit.

Ive had my tent ripped open and food taken out and i live next to a pretty big hole bout 10 ft to my right. Thought ot was a raccoon but do skunks break into tents?

This frequently happens due to a vehicle accident. It’s extremely inconvenient when you have a scheduled appointment out of town and miss it due to this type of situation.

Uh-huh, this happens occasionally here. It was really bad when the road was closed due to fire one year. It lasted for weeks. We need an alternate route in and out of the Alberni Valley.

We for sure will not be challenging you to a game of tetrus lol due to your packing skills in the jeep!! You will love your Joolca....we adore ours! Makes those longer trips a little more manageable. We always love seeing what others bring on their trips. This is a good video for people that are not as experienced and unsure of what to bring. Good job guys. P.S. love the shirt Michelle 😉

We are heading up island as well next weekend. I’ll keep an eye out for you guys. We are in a “black cherry” FJ Cruiser with black Rhinohide body armor, bumper, RTT, awnings, etc. come say hi if you see us, it would be cool to meet you guys.

So much to see on the north end of the island. Devil's bath,the eternal fountain, Goodspeed fossil bed & The Scarlet Ibis the most remote pub on Vancouver Island. Happy Travels.

Fellow Islander here. Maximum respect for not divulging these locations. I post on the Van Isl 4wd Facebook page occasionally and am similarly careful about revealing locations. All of these spots are irreplaceable.

Good plan. I'm avoiding the labour day long weekend as well. Hopefully the weather is still decent toward the end of September.

Look at that fabulous garden😋😋 You sure pack a lot of stuff! I saw that the kitchen sink is missing though😟 I like the table you have! I may need to get one of those one of these days. I think you're prepared for your trip and that shower will hopefully be a nice addition to your gear!

Really interesting to see what you carry on these adventures. I bet all those camping trips have really helped you to figure out the essential gear.

One important piece of gear (I actually carry 2) is a Fire Extinguisher. I keep one on the tailgate where I cook and one up front in case of engine fire. I weighed my Jeep recently while fully packed and found that I was over the GVWR. I am considering removing the rear seats to save weight. Either that or pare down on the gear a little more. Have a safe trip!

Have you tried using a Thermacell for the mosquitoes? I have had some luck with mine. It works as long as it isn't too breezy. If the wind is blowing they aren't much of a problem anyway.

I just ordered my BRMB to do some research for more 'out-of-the-way' sites. Sometimes I can figure out where you are (or at least close enough to give me a starting point) There is so much land on the island I have yet to explore. I've been here since 89 and still haven't been north of Campbell River! You are inspiring me to get out there and enjoy more of what this beautiful area has to offer.

You need to revisit Farwell and do second flyover to see before and after slide damage to banks. 3:30 I think both structures went in the river, the incomplete for sure. Add a map next time. Nice work.

That was a fun outing. Love seeing the wildlife & helicopter too. Those beavers are workhorses. I love watching them do their thing.

It's sad to see the Mars Bomber retired. Wow, those clips of the Beaver were amazing! Great video 😊

I'm so glad your channel came on my feed. I was on Vancouver Island visiting for 10 weeks. I left 2 weeks ago and headed back to Ontario, my home base, via the Trans Canada Highway. My plan is to go back to Vancouver Island next year when I finish my Snowbird travels in the united states. I didn't have any time to go to the north of the island because I spent most of my time in nanaimo, Parksville and that vicinity. Looking forward to watching your videos :-)

I love old planes, the footage was awesome! Cool water filter and a great demonstration! 😂 Seeing that search and rescue helicopter made me glad I got myself a Zoleo this year, I have a bit more peace of mind. Loved the beaver!

Very cool to see the aircraft. This was an amazing camp for watching wildlife. You got some great footage of the beaver.

A little more than 20 years ago there was a fire at Thetis Lake and the Mars water bomber was scooping water out of Esquimalt near the base and flying directly over my house on its flight path to the fire. I was dripped on as it flew low and slow overhead! I have that same battery powered faucet. It works okay as long as it is on a solid level base. It is designed to fit tightly over the blue water jugs you turn over onto a cooler. ... and yes. We know what you mean.
