THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG! Not only are the girls NOT the protagonists but their very existence doesn't even make sense! The 90s mean girls should have been the main characters, being targeted by ‘A’ shortly after Angela’s death. There was so much potential to make a whole show with these characters as the protagonists rather than their daughters whose existence doesn't even make sense and is way too convenient (Seriously?? You're telling me that these women ALL got pregnant at the same time and all had only daughters who grew up in the same town????)! Their daughters don't even do anything wrong, they're not Liars unlike their mothers. Davie and her friends seemed much more morally gray, which made them so interesting! And they were actually close to someone whose name starts with an "A" and who probably knew some things about them, which would have made ‘‘A’s’’ introduction much more impactful! A Pretty Little Liars story in the 90s would have been so cool! It's very clear that the people who made this show don't even understand the original book series and show! Roberto just sees it as his playground where he can recreate various horror movies (in ways that don't even work, btw) instead of making something original or fresh! And yet the PLL skeleton was right there! A dead girl (Angela), five girls with a secret (Davie, her friends and the role they played in Angela's downfall) and a vengeful killer who presents themselves as "A". And I like how the dynamic between the five girls and the dead girl was reversed here! While in the original it was one girl (Alison) terrorizing four other girls (five, if you count Mona) who somehow kept being haunted by Alison long after her death due to the fear that she had instilled in them while she was still alive, here it was five girls manipulating and being cruel to one (Angela). It would have been so intriguing to see them being haunted by the image of this poor girl whom they did wrong and going from bullies to victims when "A" starts to track them down! Everything to make this show good was RIGHT THERE in the flashbacks and yet somehow they completely missed the mark! It could have been a prequel series to the original, revealing that a much more gruesome "A" existed in another town in the 90s and that they might have been Mona's (the first 'A' in the original show) inspiration for her own game! And I do think that there was a lot of potential in each of the 2022 girls storylines to make them actual Liars. Like for instance, imagine the DRAMA of having Imogen be pregnant as the result of consensual sex (instead of sexual assault) with Greg aka her best friend's boyfriend, whom she always had a crush on, having Tabby steal a movie idea or project for a contest or something (much like how Spencer stole her sister's essay in the original), having Noa dealing drugs for her boyfriend (because she is insecure and looking for male approval or something), Faran actually trying to sabotage Karen and the others at her dance classes because of the pressure that her mother puts on her to be the best. And in my opinion, Mouse should have been 'A'. There's a little detail that was never addressed in the opening sequence and it's Mouse's missing person poster, where for some reason, it's stated that she was born in 1992, which would make her 30 years old. I was thinking that maybe she was related to Angela and since she can pass off as a teenager, she decided to integrate that group to target them. But it was nothing more than a useless detail.

You know with Mouse’s story, her mom must’ve gotten a ton of money somehow before Mouse was born because as far as I know, she wouldn’t get any government assistance as long as the bio dad’s real name is on the birth certificate. The government would go after the dad for child support before they gave her a dime, which makes the plot hole of her mom’s financial situation even bigger. And I agree it makes no sense for the bio dad to just reject her. It would’ve made more sense if he rejected her because he’s scared, he has his own kid to take care of and after he was almost arrested for kidnapping her, he can’t trust that Mouse’s moms won’t suddenly change their minds and he’d have to deal with those issues, and even if it’s a lie, it could affect his job and stuff. This would have the same effect as him rejecting her, would further strain her relationship with her moms since this wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for them, and leave the door open for them to reconnect in future seasons

i think they should’ve had Archie not actually be A. He was the bully killer, but Clanton was the one who wanted revenge. It would’ve been intesterestimg if Archie had set the girls up to be friends to get justice for his sister and to protect the girls from their moms and his dead. Archie is known to be empathetic to the girls, numerous times. it would’ve been interesting if the killer was actually on the “liars” side

Surrogates are very expensive and have stringent requirements to become one. It's reasonable a couple with a tight budget and a woman who might not pass a background check would go under the table like that. Does NOT make sense that it would be via sex. It's not that hard to get someone pregnant without sex. I was born via an informal agreement for a sperm donor but no one had sex, it's not like pipettes haven't been invented.

The original version of this show was great, not perfect but sooooo much better from the characters, fashion and relationships, you cared and it kept your attention, they acted like real people till the 5th season it got a little boring, for me, now I’m trying to watch it again to see how it ends cuz wanna see the main couple get married 🥰

You know, of all the takes on the live action ATLA, this is a unique one. And it's GOOD! The tone of LOK, the characters, everything fits much better with what Hollywood seems to be going for with its media these days. And there were things to fix/change/update with the writing of the original show. Wow. I never thought of this.

You are absolutely right. There is one thing though - the janitor A killed in the end of the first episode was hinted to be a pedo, praying at the ballet class girls, which can be considered bullying.
