    Time to update and include additional heating using wet back or flue collectors for heating water and integrating into the storage system 👍

    Hi. I have 2 Questions. 1). Can mosquito larvae fit through the mesh strainer on top of the watertank from a wet system? 2). Does the inlet pvc pipe have to be at 90 degree angle when in the area of the mesh strainer?

    Regarding overheating, doesn't stopping the pump make the small amount of water in the solar panel get REALLY REALLY HOT? Seems like it would boil and damage the panel.

    Is there a way to connect a solar hot water system to heat a hot tub? Using a temp sensor that activates a pump possibly?

    I'm from Australia & solar has been an option here for decades, but the electric or gas heated tank inside is very common too. Personally I like solar, mainly for off-grid, scalable design, and hope to one day have a pure water collector / PV system that can be used off-grid on my land and sustain me and/or visitors.

    I live in the UK, I fitted the old type of evacuated tubes, pump system, Really pleased with it's performance I don't no why these are not been fitted in more UK homes the government should be giving grants or interest free loans, there so much that can be done to help the planet no one with any vision for the future.

      Kevin I’m looking to fit a system, but I live in a conservation area, grrrrrrr My council saying at the moment even with the environmental pressures, there’s no prevision to change restrictions, outrageous or what…I could fit & suffer the consequences, I might set a president & a knock on effect. Who did you use & how much?

    Very interesting! Here in Canada, I know many people who are using their hot water tank as a secondary battery where they heat water with the excess solar power once the batteries are full. Solar PV does not freeze in the cold of course. All electric outdoors and just a switch on the charge controller to heat water once the batteries are full. Mine is coupled with wood heated water for winter so it balances my hot water needs all through the year! A little wind turbine could help in the sunless times though

    • @piynubbunyip
      @piynubbunyip 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If freezing was an issue you could have a non freezing fluid being heated and then run that into a heat exchange. I would love to see a comparison of differing methods mounted to a heliostat of the same size including directed light from a mirror. While not great for storage, I suspect it would transfer more heat than pv.

    • @zteaxon7787
      @zteaxon7787 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      But how you manage lefionella? You use a heat exchanger or heat pump to use the heat from the water battery? I think it's a great concept exceot I haven't found a professional solution like this.

      @@piynubbunyip PV Array will out perform on the longer run. You need direct sunlight for mirrors to be effective. Whereas PV will even generate when it is overcast.

    • @piynubbunyip
      @piynubbunyip ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SanaagSomaliland yes, they are more versatile in that way but will not last as long as evacuated tubes. If you were just heating water on a yearly basis the evacuated tubes would win three to one but you probably do not require that much hot water for hydronic heating in the summer. A combination is always more flexible
