David, great videos. Looks like a very complicated repair. You know your stuff very well. MAN that is A LOT of work. I had a similar but I think possibly bigger repair done on my 2013 TDI with 55K miles only on it, under warranty. Now the vehicle is reaching 100K miles and I was considering doing a delete primarily if it will prevent issues like this from happening. I wanted to get your humble opinion if you think that an oil cooler leak or the issue I had with the coolant leak is at all related to the emissions system or if its bound to happen anyway. I would love to keep the car but cannot handle these issues, and if a delete is not the way to resolve it, then I'll save the money. This is what was described as the problem for mine and what was replaced under warranty at 55K. Description: Visual inspection of the exhaust showed a crack in the catalytic converter where the pipe bolts to the turbocharger. The exhaust leak was on the catalytic converter to turbo flange. This leak caused the high pressure pump to superheat resulting in the failure of the pump (leaking diesel) and its o-ring leaking oil. These fluid leaks filled the valley of the engine and resulted in the failure of numerous cooling system hoses and seals such as the oil cooler seal, cooling hoses, coolant shut-off valve and valve plate, etc. The high-pressure fuel pump was replaced and all necessary hoses and gaskets. Thorough degrease of engine bay was done. Work done: • Oil cooler Seal replace • Valve remove and reinstall • Intake manifold remove+reinstall • High-pressure pump replacement • Catalytic converter replacement

EGR deletes are complicated because it will cause a check engine light that will never go away. If your vehicle needs to have the emissions test each year to maintain registration then the EGR delete will not be an option for you. I don't think deleting the EGR will prevent the other issued that you had in the past from happening again.

I just got a version of that heater (not the Wippro brand). I am certainly not an "expert" on these heaters. (This is actually my first one ever.) But so far I do like it a lot. True I have only had it a few days, but so far so good. I did open mine up right away to go through it. It is nearly identical to yours, but I think most of these units are pretty much the same inside. All of the screws/bolts were tight. I didn't like the way the divider/fuel tank mount was installed. It was held in only with a couple of sheet metal screws. So I took it out and drilled it for some #8 screws with nuts/washers. Much more solid now. I also rerouted the controller wiring and zip tied it in place. The final "mod" I did was installing rubber grommets where the fuel line runs through the sheet metal. I did not want to take a chance on it getting chafed.) One last thing, and this is VERY important: Do NOT under any circumstances plug that three prong plug on the back of the heater into a 110 volt AC outlet. Yes, a standard AC cord like a computer cord, etc will fit that socket, but it will destroy your electronics if you do that. I really don't know what they were thinking by putting that socked on there. I am going to be changing mine to an Anderson connector. Parts are already on the way.

whats the part number for those bolts that need to be replaced at the end of the video? I don't think that one is in your orginal parts video.

The tensioner bolt that was 50 N.M. plus 90 degree rotation? That was actually the only "one time use" bolt that I re-used lol. I didn't feel like waiting for shipping on one bolt so I took a risk by re-using that bolt.
