Very nice video.... I've been coming up to Wellesley Island State Park for many years, this will be 56 years for me and my family. The park has changed a lot in some aspects and some things never change. The one big thing that never changes is the beauty of the park and the relaxing atmosphere.

The reason theres all that brick/stone/steps there is that there used to be an old home there. We called that point "the castle" when I was a kid. We used to go up there to do some smoochin. lol. Been camping in WISP since the late 70s.

The site was the city dump for years, the bulk of the land mass now is the old dump. In 2001 massive oil and coal contamination was found on the site and it was cleaned up. IN 2010 the Fort site was put on the National Registry of Historic places. "Glass beach" got it's name from glass bottles of illegal alcohol being broken up on the rocks during Prohibition.

The Fort de La Presentation historic park is located on the original site of the 1749 French mission fort founded by Abbe Picquet. (Pronounced Pee-kay) The fort site offers the 2 mile Abbe Piquet walking trail. The trail not only offers spectacular views of the St Lawrence river but also insights into the fascinating history of the area.
