16-year-old polyglot (attempting) to speak 7 languages
Little tip, work on your confidence with speaking. You seem to get quieter and shy when speaking like you did with Spanish mainly but also French. We all go through that, it’s just another challenge to get over.
Hi Liam. Your Portuguese looks like extremely good. Have you used some books to learn this language?
Hai brooo
My guy you are insanely smart and cool. Hope that you find friends to practice with man. Good luck and keep going.
Mate it’s pretty clear your reading a script. That’s not a problem it’s amazing that you have all this knowledge at such a young age but just be honest mannn. Keep up the grind and im sure one day you will speak all of these languages
Oh yeah, it's really normal for content creators to keep a script or some notes to guide them while recording! In terms of these languages, yes, I can speak them I use them daily with my friends Yet, it gets pretty challenging to speak spontaneously on camera, I'm not gonna deny that. The amount of retakes I needed just for the English introduction alone is insane it's exhausting 😭
Honestly many European languages are similar. So Spanish and Italian,Portuguese ,French are in the same group I think those who can speak foreign languages which isn’t similar to their native languages are really amazing.
Yeess absolutely. It's really impressive and admirable!
Extremely interesting journey of how you grew the language abilities. I'm from Newcastle so I totally get what it feels like to be surrounded by English. I started learning Spanish and then built it from there.
Me waiting patiently for when one of the standard languages people learn in their polyglot mission becomes Greek or Hebrew instead of literally the exact ones you talked about in the video 😭
I'm sorryyyyyy :( If it helps I know the history of those languages and can communicate in basic A1 Greek 😭 Γεια, με λένε Λίαμ. Μου αρέσουν τα ελληνικά. Η γλώσσα είναι όμορφη! Θέλω να πάω στην Ελλάδα... and my knowledge basically gets cut off there 😭
How to pretend you speak 7 languages
I mean... I can speak in Python or HTML if that's what you prefer?
You're amazing ❤❤
Wow good progress in russian, congrats 🎉
Спасибо большое!
I hope you can made more videos.
Hey, I will certainly make more videos! I've just been insanely busy this month 😭😭 in a week or two I should have much more time
Hello! My name is Sophie, I would be glad to help you learn Russian and practise it☀️ You can write me I also would like to practise English🙂
Danke für diese vidéo ❤ eine tolle geschichte mit fremsprachen lernen
Liam just watched your first video, das vor fast 2 Jahren veröffentlicht von dir wurde, i want to know how much you in turkish improved. Im a friend from tandem, that you never answer for weeks but its ok 😭 (Atacan) If you talk to me i can help you with türkisch und ich bitte dir Rat für Deutsch damit ich schneller und tiefer es lernen kann. I appreciate your effort on learning all these languages.
Hey Liam, thank you for updating this video, I'm having a lot of problems with French and German, I don't find people to talk to, French and Germans are usually very cold and it's quite difficult to practise! What would you recommend me? Any app or arnything that might be of some help to me? I would really appreciate any recommendation, piece of advise, or any answer. Cheers mate!
hi, I have the same problem with French. probably because I live in a way too much small city
Hey! I can totally understand this challenge, because I have this same problem, especially with languages predominantly spoken in Europe. But there are certainly many solutions out there! For finding language partners, the best apps (for me) are those like Tandem or HelloTalk. While it may take some time to find conversational partners on there, there's certainly a great majority willing to help you practise! So don't give up searching and reaching out to people. Also, consider joining language learning communities or forums where you can interact, ask questions, or even make some friends and practise your target language. Additionally, if speaking to natives seems hard right now, don't underestimate the power of self-study! Watching movies, listening to podcasts, music, and reading books can provide you with just as much exposure, even if you can't find speaking partners locally. And remember, consistency is key! You'll be amazed at how much progress you can make over time, even if it's just a few minutes a day. So, keep looking for language partners (there are so many people willing to help you out there), stay persistent, and you'll get there! Übung macht den Meister (Practice makes perfect) 💫🇩🇪🇫🇷

Thanks alot for this new video! Like always, it was nice watching you! I bet, the Russian part was the hardest, right? But still, apart from some tiny mistakes in emphases your Russian is very good! Ты большой молодец, Лиам! Так держать! 👍👍 Шлю тебе много приветов из Москвы!
Ахах трудно сказать, на французском или русском было труднее записывать, оба языка у меня довольно слабые! I'm really happy that you enjoyed watching the video. Приветики из Англии! 🇷🇺✨🇬🇧

I'll definitely try the notebook method and share my journey on the comments. Please keep making videos to inspire us more! ✨
Thank you so much! I'd be excited to see how this method works for you and hear about your progress! I'm really happy you found this video helpful and motivational 💫
Hi Liam, long time no see ... I was just trying to solve Delf b2 paper, but I didn't get enough motivation as I did before, so this video is helpful. Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻. Good to see you again
I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the video and found it helpful! Feels great to be recording again ✨
Uma das dificuldades são as conjugações, principalmente para os ingleses. Sua pronúncia e frases estão perfeitas. 👏👏👏
GENIO!❤
saludos amigo tus videos son muy buenos! caminante no te preocupes....
If you want I can teach you my native language and you be my friend and speaking partner in English
by the "exaggerated part of the word", in Portuguese we say "a sílaba tônica da palavra" (stressed syllable), which means the syllable emitted with more emphasis in the word. 😁🖤
"ok, eu tô falando demais..." 🤣 você está de parabéns, Liam! seu português é muito bom e você constrói as frases e conjuga os verbos mais corretamente do que muitos de nós, brasileiros. 👏👏👏 impressionante!!! 😀🖤
"it feels like throwing your computer across the room" 🤔 just sounded like something more than a hypothetical example for me Lol... 😄🖤
Don't worry about those ones who try push you down saying that you can't do this and you shouldn't do that... Actually, they're pulling you down, because they're so deep bellow you. They don't even notice that they didn't try anything. And you are learning different languages and that's so amazing! You must be proud of yourself, because we are proud of you. And about the content, I'd like to watch you trying food and snacks and candies from the countries you're studying. That'd be fun! Except beans Lol Keep doing, Liam! 🖤😉
Wow! That’s what I can say: wow! I don’t know why people keep saying “your accent is that”, “your pronunciation is that”… Man! The most of the people don’t even try to learn anything different from what they’re used! And you nailed it! Be proud of yourself, please! Because I envy you! And keep posting your content and inspiring people! ❤
omg no way, i think i recognise you from my german class!!!
HAHA WHAT With Kate Maria? 😭

@@liam.languagesi'm really curious to know why you're doing the a level? it seems like you're fluent
I think he is amazingly correct that motivation helps a lot, but he may be missing some key points due to his age that may get in the way harder than most people expect. So I would like to expose my experiences as a full-time worker and also as an ADHD neurodivergent (late diagnostic) who learned of the inner passion for languages rather late, if you don't mind. Even though I have an enormous motivation to learn languages, common and uncommon ones, I have a hard time learning them because a full-time job consumes a huge amount of energy (even more with ADHD without medications), and after that and before having true free time, having to take care of the daily house chores simply kills my available dedication time and energy. ADHD is a neurodevelopment divergence (not a disease, as common people think it is), that makes the individual brain unable to regulate the focus in a neurotypical environment, i.e. the world we live in currently (and recent studies show that all neurodiverse people work like neurotypical individuals in an environment adapted to how their brain diverges from the neurotypical mind). For ADHD individuals, that makes us either unable to focus on one thing for long periods (varying on how intense it is at that moment, we call it hyperfocus) or focus for too long on a specific subject (what we call hyperfocus), those can happen in different points of time, it is not static for each individual. So, in short, unable to absorb most information or absorb N times more information than normal, no middle ground and we have very little to no control over what we will hypo/hyper focus and how long it will remain. This can show up in many ways, such as being unable to focus on one language, being unable to focus on one lesson, studying for 10 hours straight, etc. As I mentioned, it can be controlled in the right environment. Still, you can imagine that building a custom environment for your particular neurodivergence gets costly very fast and also some other inputs cannot be controlled. I cannot control planes that pass above my house, or cars passing in front of my house, or neighbors making noises... at least not without ending up in jail, an even more chaotic environment for my brain LOL Other things can be done to help regulate focus, but they can't make it behave just like neurotypical focus without the environment working together. So, most of the time, in this world, at this time, neurodivergents are at a disadvantage when compared to neurotypicals. Setting a realistic goal becomes very hard as well in my particular case. I have a late diagnosis and lived 26 years of my life setting goals that are realistic for most neurotypicals but very unrealistic for me (and most ADHD people), that was how I was taught on that matter. I managed to achieve such goals at the cost of my mental health (on other parts of my life) and I just started the process to learn what is a realistic goal for me. I'm sure that there are people like me that already passed this phase and are way better at managing and circumventing their neurodivergence and now can live and learn better and faster and more comfortably. I hope to get there eventually! Even with difficulties, I won't stop to keep on learning! Anyway, I just wanted to share my thoughts. I hope you have a great life, find your dream job, and be able to learn as many languages as you want and produce more content for us. Continue on your path!
personally i think it's better to perfect one language and after use it for learning the other ( obviously i speak about language on the same family )For exemple if you speak english, you have to speak french with an C1-C2 and now the sophisticated word too because there is a lot of word that it consider rich in one language but commonly use in the other. Learn all romance language in a intermediate level is a bad idea and you will mix all the language because there are very very similar, espacially with the word use. ( Sorry for my bad english, i'm still learning )
I think B2 level it's enough.. I don't know how people do it to not mix between roman
I am obsessed with watching videos on how to learn new language rather than putting in the time to learn the actual language and am here for this.
If you need help with Polish, I am open to help. I need help with English. I only learn this language from videos like yours and from movies, I understand a lot but I have difficulty speaking English.
Very impressive, I know German and am now learning English and Spanish. Greetings from Poland
