after installing my strut tower brace. the original cowl broke to pieces while removing. they offer replacement cowls but for a pretty penny! Ebay offered this 2 piece replacement for 25.00, and it was not that bad at all.

you got to cut drill and most likely break your $$ wiper cowl to put this on. (sr strut tower brace )

smell coolant think its your head gasket well check this first.

    I can see in the video at 4:28 you have relocated the Transmission control module , off the transmission case, onto the firewall to prevent it overheating and getting a TCM failure code…good work!

    Thanks! Just got one of these and the rear brace from AM. I was under the impression that removing the wheel well liner was required, so I'm glad that's out of the way. My cowl is trash anyway and will be meet its final end during this, no way around it so I guess I'll be ordering one of those now. It looks like a pretty straight forward thing but seeing it demonstrated on video like this was pretty helpful. Thanks again!

    Thanks for this video! I've got a leak buried under all of that crap somewhere, and it's probably that same gasket. What a PITA!

    I tried the jbweld high temp and it just didnt work on all the leaks so i will be replacing both manifolds...i noticed my cat is leaking too under that heat shield....how the heck do i even cut it off to repair the leak? It looks like it is pinch welded...i might be able to use the furnace cement stuff that is good for 2000 degrees...i just need to sand and clean it down very good...kind of hard to do with the heat shield

    Thanks guys for the simplicity of this. I'm about to do this for my daughter and our 01 cavi. Will ask this though....when it comes to removing the distributor cap....does it simply go on the way it comes off?

      We left all the wires on the distributor and with blue masking tape marked the cylinders 1 through 4 by the spark plugs. The distributor goes back the same way it comes off.

    6g alt is 95amp rated 3g alt are 130amp off a mustang 94-95

      6g alternators are rated 130 to 200 amps depending on the unit and have an internal voltage regulator.

    Thank you, I got a Dodge 2001 Stratus RT 3.0 Those cars look very much the same. I learned thanks to you about the screw tensioner. Without your help I would have to use my mechanic again.     what did you use to support the engine when you took the motor mounts off?

      We used a jack with a piece of wood to support it and left it there till the mount was back in.

    I took the 3 bolts out of a 2006 Stratus and the Alternator was free from the pulley . Without loosening the tension. Could that be a problem

      The tensioner is meant for the belt removal and installation. It allows the belt to be adjusted for tension. Hope that helped.

    To you or whoever may see this and has pulled the driver side manifold out, did you pull it out from the top or bottom?

      If I recall it correct i pulled it out through the bottom.

    Tell Dude I have one and done the same thing it does suck they tell you do the driver side that's easy what's really in the way it looks like two is a AC line

    When replacing the passenger header did you pull it out the top or bottom?

      If I remember correctly I couldn't get it out through the top I had to squeeze it out the bottom of the car. Good luck

      Passenger I was able to get out from the top but I did a complete ac delete so I didn’t have to worry about that being in my way

      @macknumber9 Hello. If I remember correctly, it was with the EGR disconnected. I might have pulled the EGR first for more room. I can take a look at my engine again tomorrow.

    When you re installed the oil dipstick tube how did you get it back in after new headers I just installed Shorty's and a bunch of forums say you have to unbolt the drivers motor mount and Jack that side up to get it in

      While holding the header in the general location I put the dip stick in the pushed the header in place to bolt up. It moved the angle slightly but I did not need to unbolt my motor mount. Thanks for watching I replaced both the front control arms New video coming soon .

      @@AndrewJohnson-yt1nl this motor is not a ohc. This is a pushrod engine. To replace the head gasket there was no need to pull the bottom end a part.

      I put a set of pace setter headers on the motor. I picked them up off eBay for like 65 bucks. They made the car sound great and they are much larger pipes then factory.

      They fit real nice the only problem I had was for bolting the flanges together at the header. I had to have my brother help me out from the engine bay and I went under the car.
