A talk about growing up as a girl and then a woman in a culture that teaches you to devalue women and girls, to accept that you are an object and that your value is determined by the way men perceive you, to accept that men will do what they do and take what they want, and you are only safe if a man decides you are safe, to deal with any confusion or rage about this on your own…and why we need to be doing a lot better than this for all of our daughters (and sons)…and for ourselves, too. We deserve so much more and we always have.

This is a talk about the pain, confusion and grief of growing up with a mother who struggles to mother you, for any number of reasons. Oh Say Can You See?
มุมมอง 22หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a talk about the relief that comes with seeing things as they are, instead of clinging to a version of reality we wish was unfolding. Sometimes we work really hard not to see the truth of our own feelings, or the truth of someone else’s feelings or the situation we’re in, because if we see it, things will have to change or we will have to change, or maybe we’re walking straight into hea...

The Right Questions
มุมมอง 9หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a talk about the big transitions in life. We can all get focused on the destination, but sometimes the shore in front of us isn’t clear, and the task is to swim in the waters of uncertainty for a while. You can tread water, swim against the current and exhaust yourself, or move with it and let things flow, trusting you’ll land on solid ground eventually. Asking yourself the right questi...

The Big Bang
มุมมอง 22 หลายเดือนก่อน
A talk about empathy -which, by definition - flows freely in all directions. A conversation about binary thinking, the danger of dehumanizing those who disagree with us, and where we might be at war within ourselves, since outward violence is a reflection of inward pain. I need pointers!!!! I can do handstand from standing position and "falling" into it, however, can't seem to wrap my mind around doing it this way from down dog. Any suggestions?!

fantastic, like to do it also!!!
This was great. I had a race yesterday, and my hips haven't felt this good since I began my training for it!
my love! so glad your posting noelle videos! yay!
Just by watching, I feel detoxed, lol. Can't wait to try this
can you please explain how the deep hip opening helps detoxify. Namaste
Hi Tara, Sometimes we store the things we're "sitting on" in the hips. Emotions we're pushing down, for example. I can't prove that to you scientifically, I can just say after teaching for almost twenty years and practicing even longer, when people have emotional releases in a yoga class, it's usually in the hip opening part. So I included hip opening along with twisting, which is what we traditionally associate with detoxifying. That way people are given an opportunity to allow any repressed feelings to come to the surface, and then wring them out :) HNY to you and yours.
thank you. Namaste
Brilliant video. Thanks! Something to aim for!
Not a complete class. Others channels offer a complete yoga class
Thanks!
always my <3 <3 <3 for you, Ally:):):)
gonna mix this in my stretching routine, thx :)
thank for sharing that. namaste
Thank you, Ally. I love your video blogs. Sarcasm leaves such a bitter aftertaste, the momentary fun of it is just not worth it. There are many other modes of humor that are much more joyful. I prefer self-irony, it's so disarming and you can genuinely laugh with another person without attacking them. I also like puns and wordplay - yes, they may not evoke anything beyond a chuckle, but I like making words up so it's fun to me. You can be funny without hurting, it's a cool art form. Namaste
Crazy clip. Terrific movie. My younger brother used to be an obese guy. He went from 283 lbs of pure fat into 207 lbs of full-strength lean muscle. I used to be stunned. I just subscribed myself because I wanna strengthen. He made use of the Muscle Building Bible (Search on Google)...
Thank you!
Thanks for this, Ally =) I'm at a place in my life when I'm chasing an old ambition again that I had let go for a while. Yeah, I feel an excitement akin to the hormonal storm when meeting someone new, but it's a job thing in my case. Regardless, thank you for reminding me to not put off happiness and not lock it up in future boxes that I can only open "when I get there". I don't know why, but I feel like you've been through a lot, that's why I like your blogs so much, they speak to me. Namaste<3
So strong
wtf
wowww oh my god bitch i love you thank much
Thank you, I enjoyed this. Wise words!
This all sounds so passive. Sometimes people are really mean. Should I just let this pass by ? Think that They too are on a their path, but a completely different one. I really can't do that!
Thanks so much. Love and a hug :)
Right back at you <3!
Rich! SO good to hear from you! And that makes my week. More than that, actually. Sending you love and a hug from Santa Monica. Safe travels out there :)
Hey Ally! Great to hear your voice! We used one of your Yoga CD's here Baghdad to do yoga! Thanks for the energy!
