Question fro Zan: it sounds like you had some bad variance in the first LCQ with green steel, on top of your opponent getting very, very lucky. What made you decide to abandon the deck so quick given that if it hadn't been for bad luck on your end, and good luck on your opponents end, you would have continued to roll. I know you mentioned that you saw a lot of Amber Steel in the room, so I certainly understand RS being a good choice, but GS-Doc/Mine seems like a great pic into a heavy AS field as well. Will you do a deck tech on the GS-Mine version? I'd love to learn more. Thanks for the amazing insight as always!

Amazing podcasts. I was laughing out loud at the seating snafu. Zan you are amazing with how you deal with people even when you are under pressure. I appreciate that people are like this in Lorcana. This is not how MTG events go for sure.

Thanks for the mention! I knew I could win on the play, the deck isn't designed for OTD vs RB so you just hope to split or win the die roll. After I lost it yea I thought the run was over. My only hope was that your build was greedier at the top end and u miss some ramp, which did happen in game 1, then I was just fishing for deck knowledge by that point as I was gonna lose. Noticed you didn't have hideaway or you never inked/played so used that to my advantage. Game 2 yea OTP I think im just fast enough to win so I go for it. Then I did actually need a bathroom break haha, I thought I was gonna lose that game 3 but wanted to give it my best shot. Leaned in on you having no hide away and somehow managed it with your unfortunate inks on the maui's. But you for sure had me shook from the moment I noticed you was one of the lads who came across with Zan lol why I asked if you are a magic pro or something. My real name is Adam lol.

Just started the Pod!!! Glad you guys are back babbyyyy! Great point by Zan at 4:12 talking about the nuances of a deck being good based on different formats. I.E. good for the LCQ versus being good for day 1 of the championship vs top 16 of the championship. A follow up question explaining that more would have been 🔥 and it brings me back to Zan talking about Seattle and how the deck that has a higher percentage to day 2 is not necessarily the deck that has the highest percentage to win the whole thing. Also, you are a great host Jeremy! The comedy experience definitely lends itself to co hosting the podcast! (I still haven't looked into your comedy yet. You have any specials? Plug them!)

I had an opponent not show up at Birmingham and everyone said that was great, but I had paid to play. I just scouted the room, well as much as possible, a bit difficult with so many.

Didn't get to play Zan but a friend did. I was shocked when I heard what had happened, but the whole tables situation led to people sitting at the wrong table all Friday. And even looking at Melee on the phone doesn't cut it, as many people just say "yeah yeah" and don't look. I lost my LCQ final so unfortunately didn't get to make the Euro, but the Revival tournament was fun. PS: that Spider-Man ride is incredible, it's my favorite.

I played Ryan on the bubble at Seattle, was my first DLC and he was super chill and cool about me taking time on my turns. Thank you very much.

Lorcanito has been stat resetting almost every other day. The official season started on the 24th at 1pm. It will be exciting to see who can actually stick rank 1.

TLDR: Watched your game on youtube, what do you think of the line of using Muses to sing sudden chill and then potentially bouncing muses instead of his diablo. Then not questing for the turn. You deny gogo 3 or 4 lore by not questing, but give up a free diablo lore. You also secure a guaranteed beast draw. Very interesting board state, and deep lines spreading from that possible decision. Would love to hear you explain your thoughts on that potential line on the next pod. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Just watched your Na vs EU game after finding it on a random TH-cam channel. I disagree with your play and I will explain why and you can rewatch and see if you agree or disagree with my takes. I agree with you that Clock is very important, but you were controlling the game super well at that point. You had your opponent down to only Goat on board and only 11 lore. (Looks like he had 3 cards in hand?) Your board was John, Beast, Diablo, and muses in cove. Questing only gets you 3 lore and leaves you open to the GOGO 4 lore plus essentially a discard (turning beast off.) If you leave all your guys safe at home (except for the diablo) you are guaranteed an extra draw which is 1 card deeper to more songs to use muses to stall more or for more characters to pressure board more and discard. After re-watching though, even if you leave your guys home, the opponent has option to still just gogo the muses for 3 which may have been good enough to get there eventually. gogo for 3 and questing goat would have put them up to 15 with goat and gogo on board. After studying the board further I think the best play was to sing chill with muses after playing john. If you whiff on an answer to goat, bounce your own muses to deny 3 lore from a gogo. Leave beast home and pass. Opponent will have 11 lore plus goat and diablo on board and you will have John, Diablo and Beast in cove. Opponent can quest goat and diablo to 13 but is denied a big GOGO play. You get guaranteed draw from beast to dig 1 deeper into your deck. Opponent has more lines from there and they are less straight forward and harder for him to figure out. Could crab his guys to take out cove (clear cove but not gain 2 lore) or just turn sideways for 2 lore and go to 13 and maybe drop something else out. (If it's a genie, that is nasty, but he just discarded a genie already fearing the bounce from muses.) Not questing with beast guarantees you an extra draw, if they have goat Exerted you then can clear it on your turn even choosing to use the diablo to trade. Feels bad losing the bird, but denies leaving wounded guys for gogo and you have beast and john to draw. You had a pluto in your hand that you could drop to protect beast and you eneded up drawing an anna, so a lot of different lines and options all still available plus 1 card deeper from the beast draw to work with.

In Seattle, I had to call a Judge on the match next to me because a player was being very aggressive and creating a hostile situation/ atmosphere that was making it hard to even focus on my match. People definitely need to call out bad behavior and judges need to be trained on how to handle it. (I don't think there is a great judge system at the moment since the game is new). I am generally conflict avoidant, so understand people being uncomfortable confronting someone, but after a certain point you have to call people on stuff. Paused to leave that comment. Also, I love the podcast and don't mind long rambling podcasts. I definitely find more value in more thoughts and information and that is why I listen to podcasts like these over the clickbait videos or people going over the same deck lists over and over. Keep up the work and good luck in future tournaments! (And comedy)

I'm so glad Zan talked about that yugioh hater. There's a guy at my locals that gets so salty when I beat him. The stakes are pretty low but he still gets mad. I'm a bad player so If I lose, its still super fun for me by learning from my mistakes.

The amount of tangents in the podcast is really distracting. I want to hear about meta analysis and lessons learned from high level play, not side stories about mentally unhinged individuals behaving badly at tournaments.

Hello, the content is fantastic! The analysis of the game and insights into the meta are excellent. I would really appreciate it if you could add timestamps to the video. Many content creators overlook this feature, but it’s incredibly helpful for navigating a one-hour-long discussion. Additionally, whenever a list is being discussed, it would be great if it could appear on the screen during that part of the video. For viewers like me who watch on a phone, it can be a bit challenging to keep track of the list otherwise. I hope these suggestions are helpful. Keep up the amazing work!

Blue/Yellow Aggro at the moment has the fastest lethal threat. Turn 1: Daisy Turn 2: Anna (Quest 2) Turn 3: Alice (Quest 6) Turn 4: Scrooge (Quest 13) You are now threatening to go to 22 on turn 5. All characters have 4+ Willpower, 2 have Ward. OTD its almost impossible to deal with unless you know what you are facing up front.
