Tune
My version of Gwen's destiny: Gwen was but only 6 years old the sunny morning the charr bombarded Ascalon City. As she witnessed the hopeless despair in the eyes of men whom oathlessly protected within the walls and lands abroad, a flame bolstered within her heart. Chaos magic, spells only thought controlled by mesmers on small scales, now columed within the paws of insane twin brother elementalists, known as Time's Duo, Pryytar and Oohrkoky, the city was lost. Along the years, Gwen rallied to, frow and foot, many humans across the greelands. A young 20 year old leading along the side of a once ruler King's surviving son of that time altaring morning, marching toward's an end. The echo of a choice made by a little girl to regain the land for peace and prosperity, at the time a mind of innocence not knowing how, lost her life during the ambush of now known in Guild Wars lore as The Ambush On the Road to Sorrow's Furnace. Not knowing the humans lead by Gwen and King Roderhik's son Marcus along with a small company, were sneaking into the furnace to destroy Harbinger breeding caves. Gwen's death was not in vein, for the clash of her company's ambush unleashed the Harbingers onto the charr, whom's survivers extending from the bloodbath of the ambush, now fleeing to their short traveled homeland from a new source of non-discriminating predation. All for the existence of justice, the range of light which birth's flame of love's heart, which never dies, dwelleth'd within Gwen. These days within Guild Wars lore, the charr have been long forgive of their ancestors sins by the humans and even some council seats bare charr ownership.
the nostalgia omg
Innocence.
I ate KFC + faxe beer played all night... memories
9 years comments, 13 years coments... JESUS GW1 STILL ALIVE. GO BACK THERE IF YOU LIKE IT, TONS OF RUNS DAILY!
A life time ago. Spent a lot of my time after middle school and high school playing this game with my friends.
I still run regularly
It's 2022 - once in awhile, I come back to this song. It's just fantastic. One of those inspiration songs.
And when you listen to the GW2 remake, it's just not the same. Insulting, almost in the face of this. It's crazy, it has the same notes and instruments for the most part, but is just way too badly mixed and misses the vast and lonely majesty this has. Jeremy really is a master.
Many happy hours played, sometimes just to hear the music and take in the beautiful scenery. A beautiful game.
For me no matter what game I play, it well never beat GW1.. Best game ever..
True brother
I remember playing Prophecies all those years ago. I had read the lore manual like crazy, absorbed stories about gods and ethereal beings and dragons and epicness by the bucketload... I remember playing and finding everything interesting enough, helping the people of Ascalon to their new lands while slaying charr and getting involved in the Krytan dramas... but when I heard this song, it was the first time I really felt that I was getting close to those beings in the stories; like, I really felt like I was on my way to touch the very ancient lifeforms I had read about ... and true enough... soon I found the last dragon. The feeling when i was in the presence of Glint and still had that song echoing in my mind was phenomenal. :D
ArenaNet needs to make a new Guild Wars - but with GW1 skills! It's likely because I was younger and maybe more excited about video games - but to this day, I can't think of a game that caught my attention more than that. The feeling of firing off a distracting shot or savage shot, with apply poison - at an elementalist casting meteor shower, was just so much fun (Random Arenas). Or annoying people with a mesmer - good times :)
Wow. Just wow.
This sound reminds me something. I've heard some kind of a mix of those notes in a movie or something. Anyone knows what can it be?
The best music of all time
Is always a bit earie when you find her tomb in Guild Wars 2, and you can hear her theme playing softly in the background.
Visual for the video is really cool when your sliding your finger along the bar and a preview shows above for where you wanna skip too. Appreciation for the song too course, just thought that was dope
This game was incredible. I adored it at the time, but man as I get older I appreciate it more and more
I used distracting shot on your Word of Healing! LOL :).....Yes, it was a great game. If only ArenaNet could bring back that flavor and make a GW3 with all those old skills but new graphics.
It really did set itself apart from most MMOs. And the story is so untouchable, GW2 couldn't even hold a candle to it. Instead of making itself a piece of modern art, it made itself a piece of high fantasy storytelling. I would say... GW2 is like Breath of the Wild, while GW1 is like Ocarina of Time... if that makes any sense. A compact story that doesn't sugarcoat anything while giving you a linear objective with just the right amount of free roaming.
Feels like a different lifetime now. This game meant so much to me.
I know what you mean xD
i have the same.... played for so many years..
The bauble farm theme song
isnt this actually from the shiverpeaks?
Still one of my favorite. So many good memories.
A far simpler time......
Nostalgia strikes still. Just decided gonna install it again and playyyyy♡
They just gotta revisit this game.
This song is so damn good
This song transcends time and space for me. Whenever I listen to this, it's almost always when I have a memory in my mind of my little brother. Or in going through a rough patch and I need to see him or at least watch him do his thing. Little man was an absolute beast in GW1. Rank 12 Gladiator (fuck all that insanity) and he made builds like nobody's business. He had made a solo Thirsty River boss mission with his W/Mo and it was unreal. This tune always brings me back to him yelling at people too skip the damn cutscene as they wait in the beginning of the mission that he charged them three to five gold to run so they can pass into the next chapter at low levels. And after the long ass cutscenes which someone or maybe multiple people didn't skip and him raging at his screen and going to smoke a cigarette. Always nice to see him regain his composure when he gets back in game and goes through his inventory to find the gold there, and the little "shitlings" have progressed on in the game. It might not have felt good having to do it, but he did good by them in doing so. I miss you Johnny (Slay The Warrior) Rest in Peace brother.
I like listening to this inspirational song once inwhile as well. I wish ArenaNet would bring back something similar to GW1 - at least for the combat. There was just something special about the skills they used in the game - like distracting shot, savage shot for the Ranger. I don't know why but I just couldn't get into GW2.
if i could go back in fucking time. those memories...some of the best years of my damned life.
This game was/is love of my life. Started to play again about week ago and i really enjoy it. I just needed break from wow and FF XIV. This tune is just heast stoping like FF Terras theme. And there is still lot of players in American world/servers specially in main citys like Kamadan.
Evoking adventures with Skals. And a little girl with a lost flute. Bliss
My god this brings back memories, man. I get teary eyed sometimes listening to tracks from this game. Damn good mmo and very unique compared to others back then
Is the picture actually blurry, or am I just tearing that much?
I hated this kid until I realized she restored energy
Amazing.
Kocham to, ta muzyka jest tak magiczna że po tylu X latach albo chyba nawet XX latach, muszę jej kilka razy w roku odsłuchać... ❤
Ascalon was never taken by the Charr--King Adelbern and Prince Rurik saw to that. The nobles were ousted by Duke Barradin's Vanguard, and the armies of the Charr were pushed back over the mountains of Rinn. Warm rays of summer still blanket the autumn-tinted valleys and lush fields.
If only.
Great tune. If you like, try checking out Vangelis 1492 - Conquest of Paradise and Twenty Eighth Parallel
all the comments are from 5 6 7 years ago and this still wrecks me
that game will never die, kamadan still has full servers :)
we still come back here <3
One day I will walk the alley with that song playing, it's in the plans
This game has the best PvP ever, it could beat moba's if only he was released few years later :'(
