AliExpress Headlight Restoration Kit - Worth The Money?
มุมมอง 6Kปีที่แล้ว
A headlight restoration kit from AliExpress. It uses a mix of toluene and some type of resin to make headlights look like brand new. The kit costs around 30eur with shipping. Sanding the headlights before applying the vaporized mixture is strongly recommended. Also, do this in a well ventilated area. I'm personally rather happy with the results.

We never use Fe2O3 or any type of surfactants and seem to get pretty good results with just KNO3 and sorbitol.

    Instead of ammonium chloride You can use sodium hydro oxide "NaOH" to percipate PGM metals. But remember "Na" sodium is too a metal it will be mixed into platinum. So its better to use ammonia chloride cuz its a gas, when heated it will leave the beaker.

    • @lucasmatias8829
      @lucasmatias8829 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@drkphntm6840 Hi, sure, sorbitol powder offers better stability and ease of handling compared to sorbitol liquid due to its lower susceptibility to moisture absorption. Both forms have similar energy performance, but sorbitol powder tends to burn more steadily and can be mixed more accurately with other components in rocket motor preparation. I think both are viable options; however, the liquid form may still work, but it's not as efficient as the powder.

    • @mojaverockets
      @mojaverockets 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmmm, you mean the 70% liquid sorbitol solution? 30% water doesn't make for a good solid propellant. While I haven't done so, cooking for a long time to boil off much of the water might work, similar to sugar propellant using corn syrup that is about 25% water.

    I'm sorry, but I believe that the exposure for the HID was turned down a lot, the red light and glow at around 2:50 is far from the same, if the exposure was locked on the same iso for both recordings, then all other lighting except for the car lights should have been the same. So either you are benifiting the led by over exposing it and making it look much brighter, which I think is the case as it looks over saturated with light, or the HID recording is turned down to make the LED present brighter?

    • @DR0NE_BEE
      @DR0NE_BEE ปีที่แล้ว

      At first i thought this was a deuche comment, but i checked the 2:50 timeframe, and came to realize you make a valid argument. Id like to add that it is stated that the hid is 5000k and Led is 6000k...in my opinion the hid looks more to be 6000k and Led 5000k, reverse than what the video mentioned. Also the hid focus was more blurry than the led's, but for sure there is something off with the light adjustment from camera. It is in all honesty hard to record lights and make it a fair comparison by any meassure, but Im gonna agree with you that the Iso wasn't set similarly, wether this was done intentionally I cannot have any opinion about, but from my personal experience, if you have a good quality Led, these tend to have better spread than hids bulbs. Not sure if this bulb is one of them, but sure looks nice 😂

    The hard part would be seperating the 3 metals after you got all the metal out. I always wondered if you can freeze it out, some metals and things will react when having it frozen out, but to do that the catalytic material would need to be ground up into powder which should have been done here too IMO

    I recently found out that Sodium Laureth Sulfate is a far better surfactant for sugar fuels than glycerin, it only takes .1% to .3% to make your KNSB as runny as heavy cream, you should give it a shot. I got 4 ounces of 70% SLS solution in water from ebay for $25, it should last me a decade at least, it only takes a drop or two per rocket, if that depending on the size. It does slow down the cure time though, it takes another half day to a day to fully cure so you can't launch your rocket the same day you make it.

    • @TheExplosiveGuy
      @TheExplosiveGuy 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bryceweiner3607 Ahh, I think I see the problem. SLS only seems to work with Sorbitol-based formulas, the lower melting temperature of Sorbitol doesn't break the compound down, which may be the case with your sucrose/corn syrup blend which melts at a much higher temperature, perhaps the byproducts of it degrading are acting as burn retardants. I've never tried SLS with anything but Sorbitol since I heard it causes issues with sucrose fuels, it only works with Sorbitol.

    For the last test with the nozzle secured to the tube with bolts, how exactly did you reinforce the concrete with the bolts? Did you add bolts to the pvc casing straight through, then coat it with some thing to prevent the pvc from possibly melting? How exactly did you reinforce the concrete with bolts and how did that help? Sorry for the questions, I ordered some nice nozzles due to the clay stuff not cutting it anymore and just want to see how people are attaching nozzles to their nozzles

    • @SamTin_
      @SamTin_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I try to explain> 1) I take a PVC tube with a OD big enough to fit inside the motor casing 2) To the PVC tube I insert a styrofoam that acts as a positive mold for converging diverging nozzle 3) I drilled holes through the PVC pipe and added some bolts that fit 4) Now I fill the space left from the styrofoam mold and bolts with concrete (I also reinforce the throat with metal tubing) 5) The concrete dries and the bolts inserted act as a reinforcement that holds the concrete together better and also prevents the poured concrete to just fly out of the PVC casing 6) I cut out the styrofoam and now I have a converging diverging nozzle I will make a video next how I make those nozzles step by step. For the PVC melting part you don't really have to worry about it too much. It only comes as a problem when the job has been sloppy (like my 3. test in the video). You want as much concrete to cover the PVC as possible.

    I think crushing it in a hammer followed by a ball mill would be better. Should enable the leaching and extraction process to go on faster. But there is a hazard with the dust which would be not healthy. So, both need to be near close loop so the dust stay inside. And you would have to wait for the dust to settle for each operation. Could be some other way but am not seeing it yet. But the filtered material should around 1mm max size.
