Dripping Drinking Water System? Replace the Auto Shutoff Valve
Our reverse osmosis drinking water system kept continually trickling through the back wash tube into the drain. It was happening almost all the time. This was a sign of a bad auto shutoff valve or ASO. Replacement was super easy!

Move Washer Supply Valves - Copper Press Fittings
มุมมอง 2369 หลายเดือนก่อน
This video is not my best quality! It was made from clips we took for the utility tub installation video. As the scope of our little project morphed, it made sense to break the project into 2 videos. I am certainly not a plumber, so there probably things that weren’t done right. BUT, the press fittings all sealed perfectly! The iron pipe fittings ended up being a leak fiasco. After I left, Jere...

How We Placed 92 Sheets of OSB Between Trusses
I just watched someone take the whole dryer apart to put this on thank you Jesus the universe I found this video 😭😭😭😭😭
Nice!
This was our exact problem. Thank you for showing us why the code came up. Did you just have to tighten the nut or did you have to add Teflon tape?
I just had to tighten mine a little more, that was all. Thanks for watching!
Huge help, thank you.
You're very welcome!
what is the part number ???
WR02X13771 - I got it on eBay. Good luck!
Removal the socket and wobble bit worked great, but when trying to put it back in I kept cross threading it, not good, so I had better luck with a 12 inch 1/4 inch socket extension, no wobble bit, but pulled the outdrive bell down and jammed it up in there to get it more straight on. Thankfully I was able to get it back together. Your video was great though thanks for putting it out there.
Glad to hear you figured it out! Certainly doable, but certainly not fun. Thanks for sharing your experience with it. God bless!
Very helpful, much appreciated!!!
You are very welcome! God Bless!
Thank you for your help I'm going to try it because my handle broke off
Good luck! I hope you can save it!
Me too!!! Thank you
Amazing video. You helped me identify the problem and then repair it. Thanks for the help. Nice cat.
Glad you found it helpful. That’s why I make these videos!
Great video. It was a big help.
Thanks for the comment!
Came here to see if my dishwasher was missing the plug in cord and the fittings for the inlet water. And it was lol. Used the old cord from previous dishwasher and put a reducer to a 90 for the water. Only parts available at Home Depot ha.
Thanks for the comment! I’m always glad to hear success stories! God Bless’
Umm has anyone given a shout out to the cat? He helped out too!
Haha! That cat is a weird one. Wherever I have tools making noise, there she is! Good little helper!
Thank you so much for this video! I successfully installed my dishwasher and it works as expected, I'm really happy I could do it myself, thanks for showing everyone it's not as hard as it seems
You are very welcome! I’m so glad to hear the video empowered you to make the installation on your own. Thanks for sharing!
Simple modern replaced mine but mine has stickers I don’t want to lose so need to fix mine
Good call, my friend!
My daughter has a Simply Modern that the handle broke off and sent us a new one in less than a week. I carefully pulled her stickers off (very slowly with an razor blade), put new sticky on the back, and attached them to her new cup. Worked great! Now I'm trying fix the broken cup so that I can use it.
What is the fill.tube part number?
WR02X13771 - I bought it from unlimited_appliance_parts on eBay. Good luck!
Thank you. Your video helped a lot.
You are most welcome!
YES THIS WORKED! ALL GLORY TO YAHWEH. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!
So glad to hear the vid was helpful!
How the heck does the plug come off
The plug actually stays on. There are two plastic tabs on the float assembly that release the whole thing. Good luck!
you Jumped from touching the moisture to looking at all the insides of it. Did you access all that by simply removing the 2 screws you took off in the video??
Yeah, I certainly missed some footage there. The two screws come out, then the whole toe kick assembly pulls off on 2 pieces, with some insulation attached. Once all that is out of the way, the drip tray has white plastic tabs on both sides, left and right. Those gently squeeze toward the center to allow the tray to slide out. At that same time, there are two plastic tabs holding the float assembly in place. Those get squeezed to remove the float. Then the tray can pull out completely, giving fairly good access to everything underneath. I hope that helps! Thanks for asking about it! God bless!
Just coming across this video because I need to fix mine. The photo of the OEM part online is shows the coils of the flex shaft going in the opposite direction of the one you have here. That one is $260. I found some on eBay that appear to be wound in the same direction as yours and those are $35... any clue if that is causing a problem?
I'm dealing with a similar problem. I picked up sled used with a blown motor. I was fixing the electric start but the motor spun the wrong direction. Now it hardly spins the motor over and kicks out
Good thought, and I wondered the same thing. But I did check to make sure the coils weren’t being spun in the ‘unwinding’ direction. That would be a recipe for even earlier failure! Hopefully no replacement parts got that wrong! I noticed the big price gap too and it must have something to do with the quality. I sold this sled to someone else, who seems to be a mechanical master. Thanks for the comment!
@@NashwaukSteve I ended up buying the part anyways just for shits and giggles - it came in wound the same way as the OEM one I have that is broken. I can see the OEM part has inner layers that are wound in opposing directions, so it could spin either way. Not sure if the new one has them in both directions since I can only see the outermost layer, but it seems to be working fine with 1 exception - the new part from China has a bend in it when I install it all the way although it is the same length as the OEM. Must mean it is not seating properly at the ends. Thanks for the video, it was very helpful!
EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED! THANK YOU!
Yess! Glad to hear it helped!
Great video I will save this job for the weekend though. Looks like it’ll be fun so glad I saw this. Thanks again.
Perfect solve, got it back up and running in 30 minutes. Thank you sir!
That is exactly why I make these videos - fixing things and keeping them running! Thanks for the comment.
Steve . . . you are sooo money - thank you!!
Hey my friend- so glad to hear the vid was helpful!
End of 2024 and thia video still helpful for my 96 indy 500. Thank you!!!
You’re welcome! There are still a few late 90’s machines getting good use, including my ‘97 Indy lite.
How do you take the chain off?
Nice work - Looks great. I had this trailer and I really like Floe's design. I now want a Floe Cargo Max.
Thank you for posting this! You helped us diagnose the simple issue that sounded so catastrophic! My husband was ready to run out and get a new one, but he conceded to trying this and now he feels like Superman to have fixed it with your help! Thank you!
Thanks for the awesome comment. THAT is exactly why I started making these videos! God Bless! Merry Christmas!
If anyone owns these dishwashers my suggestion would be after 6 months pull the panel in front of the tray and check/tighten the fitting for the water line. I just fixed mine and it was the same problem and lots of these reported online. My guess is that over time the plastic threads and vibration are loosening up those connections. Probably why they designed the drip tray like they did in the first place.
Really good video and explanation of the project. Thanks for making this and sharing your knowledge and lessons learned.
Glad you found it useful! Thanks for commenting!
You're awesome! Same exact problem and fix on my Whirlpool.
Thanks for the nice comment!
This was helpful, thank you!
I am glad you found it helpful! God bless!
What do you do with the slack in a 6ft water line?Just push in dishwasher and not focus too much on it? I can't fit the slack in space under my sink 🤷♂️
Mine kind of snakes under the cabinets adjacent to the dishwasher, but you probably don’t have space under them like I do. I think just sort of coiling it up the best you can would be fine. Once the dishwasher is pushed back in place, you can reach under to make sure it’s not kinked. I think it would be really tough to actually kink a braided supply line, but best to check. Good luck!
How long did it take
I think it was a weekend job with other stuff going on and freezer time involved
Righty righty lefty loosy. Lucy laughs, must have been the first time she heard it. 😊
you need to use red loctite on those set screws and don't turn the engine over until the loctite sets
Good call! Thanks for catching that!
Awesome to the point no intro bullshit... loved it atleast know I don't have to call technician. DIY helps
Glad it was helpful! That’s my whole point.
Just bought one of these - once I get it ill be back
Nice job. I have to tear my dryer apart and your video demystifies the process. Thanks for taking time to put this together. I've had to make multiple repairs to the last two Whirlpool dryers we owned so this will be the last one I buy. Maybe I'll shop for a 20 year old Kenmore that's still running.....
I am with you my friend! I’ve had this dryer in pieces multiple times, so definitely not buying another one. Fingers crossed, it’s been ok for the last year. God bless!
Is there any other fluid we should change in the motor or is this it?
That’s it for a 2-stroke. Just keep filling 2-stroke oil in the reservoir and you’re good to go! Have fun!
Run an air gap please
Thanks for the comment. Someone needs to explain why I need one in this application. I’ve had dishwashers installed with no air gap for 16 years in this house with no issues. I know in some situations it must help, but I don’t see the need here.
Thankyou, so much, I have a huge leap in knowing what I'm doing, do u have a tip button...
Great video. Exact,y the repair out dryer needed. Simple and cheap fix
Exactly what happened to me today. Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate how to make the fix! Really appreciate it!!
Well I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who has busted up a saw! Thanks for the comment! God bless!
God bless you and your family also!
Will this work on my 435 husqvarna chainsaw to replace the brake bar handle
thankyou, going to do this next summer. great info.
You’re welcome! Good luck to you! It’s a fairly big undertaking, but if you plan it out well, it’s certainly doable. I’m just now finishing off the attic room up there, so my 3 year project is nearing completion!
Good looking job have you considered cougar paws roofing shoes might be a help
There are 2 solenoids because the one connected to the house water supply is the isolation valve, from there it goes to the water filter than back to the second valve which feeds the icemaker. If the fill tube freezes, the heater might solve the problem or you have a drip thru the supply valve and need to replace it.
thanks man! wasn’t sure how to do it mine 97 xlt 600 tourings been sitting for about 2 years oil is light brown and clumpy 🤣
