Thank you for this excellent video ! I could easily follow your work on the left side - the switch works perfectly ! I'm struggling with the right side: Could you please tell me which wire colours you have to put where in the big white connector ? I could not see it in the video and struggle which colour has which function. Thanks, Heiko
Hi Heiko, Thanks for watching, please refer to 12.04 - 12:52 will show you the wiring for the right side, its a simple kill switch power/ground and starter power/ground. Hope this helps!
Bro u have awesome bike
Thanks for the appreciation!
Rear adjustable bump stop pads designed to accommodate various lift heights. Once again the engineering shines, only bump pad in the market slightly sloped forward for a perfect contact with upper spring bump stop as suspension articulates up/down. 👏🏼
great vudeo
Thanks for watching!
Thats nice video, I have GT650 2022 model, I mainly do office commute daily on straight roads, with less or more traffic. I do sometimes long and short rides on weekends or on vacation. What do you would be more better for me?
Thanks for watching @_ITonRoad What are you expecting out of your machine, more torq or more top end speed? Also which gear your riding in most of the time as your commuting?
Can you tell me the model name of those tyres? Would love to get that rear tyre for my Interceptor!
They are called out in the video. They are Bridgestone tires 140/70/18 rear and front is 110/90/18. Here is the link: www.jpcycles.com/product/bridgestone-battlax-bt46-sport-touring-tires?JP-PLA-Tires-PMax&Cj0KCQiA0fu5BhDQARIsAMXUBOIgSaQcAw4NCBHqr60TLnPTcJREDLoHs6KL7oYOhmy7VKDvGhSyH5QaAkOgEALw_wcB&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA0fu5BhDQARIsAMXUBOIgSaQcAw4NCBHqr60TLnPTcJREDLoHs6KL7oYOhmy7VKDvGhSyH5QaAkOgEALw_wcB
Did you feel any loss of power riding in city traffic, climbing up inclines? Or for that matter what are the cons of this mod, i mean the 16T
No loss of power in city or inclines, the sprocket is changed only by one teeth which does not impact the gear ratio much to feel the difference. This 650 motor is torqy and you will not feel the difference between a 15 or 16 teeth sprocket. No cons of this mod, only one I can think of is the chain needs be to adjusted correctly else the chain will wear out quickly.
@@GrewalsGarage thanks for the quick reply. I have a shotgun. Planning this mod.
Shotgun rear hub sprocket is different, it has 40 teeth I believe instead of 38 teeth as gt/interceptor. I would confirm the rear hub sprocket teeth count before updating front sprocket on shotgun650, that already is a cruiser style bike with a tune. The rpms drop will not be as significant for you! Hope this helps!
@@GrewalsGarage yes, rear has 40. All through I thought even the inty had 40. How would it be if I put 38 at back? Making it 16/38.
That would be too much of a hassle to get a drop in rpm. Specially if you’re not spending majority of time cruising on highway speeds. If your riding mostly in city traffic or such then more torq is preferred over top end speed.
Hello bro the new RE sm650 is having an issue of the front sproket and the whole chain set wearing out only at like 10k kms. What is your opinion on this, and how would u solve this?
If the chain set is wearing out then inspect all of these. 1. If the front sprocket was replaced then make sure the sprocket sits aligned on the shaft and flush against the case. Also confirm the sprocket bolt is torqued properly so it’s not loose. If the sprocket is not aligned properly that could be causing chain wear. And other issues. 2. If above is correct, then inspect proper chain slack (not too tight and not too loose). 3. Inspect the rear wheel hub sprocket teeth, they should not be shaved/broken. 4. Inspect the rear wheel alignment is straight, evenly tighten the chain tensioner bolts on both left/right side. If the rear wheel alignment is not done properly that could stretch the chain O-rings. 5. Inspect the chain itself, you should not be able to stretch the chain with hands. If the chain is bad, then you will need to replace the chain. Also lube the new chain once installed. Lmk, what you find!
Did you solve the fit issue?
I ended up creating a custom spacer plate to line up the holes as Rival4x4 didn’t respond.
Fatboy type handlebar is better search for RD 350 handle bar
thanks for the suggestion @sherkhan4727 I actually do not like the RD 350 handlebar as its has too much height which makes the classic/Bullet model look funny. I want the retro look such as G2 model handlebar which has no height and stays flat with the speedometer height. Like how Royal Enfield's came in 1950s.
New royal Enfield classic 350 locker adjustment video please vai
Great video mate. I just purchased these switches myself for my Interceptor, so this is perfect. 👍
Glad this video helps, hope you enjoy the new switches!
Hi Sukhi, love your work. 😊 is that the stock throttle cable…? With the risers I hope there’s no tension when turning.
Thank you for your support @srikanthdonthi1 No need to change the throttle cable, the stock ones will work perfectly fine just need to reroute them outside of forks.
Did acceleration take a hit with 16t ? If yes how much?
No acceleration did not take a hit with this upgrade. Since gear ratio does not change much by one teeth. Acceleration depends on the gearbox ratios, tire size, both front sprocket and rear chain sprocket.
Is it possible to put at first gear and turn the rear wheel to reach TDC ?
The turn rear wheel trick works best in old single cylinder models as the stroke is longer and with an eye you can see the balance between close and open valves. It will be very tough to apply the same on the 650 as the rear will rotate quickly and you won’t be able to get exact TDC and both cylinders have different TDC so it’s best to rotate the crank precisely as shown for best results, hope this helps!
@@GrewalsGarage thank you so much ! From Rio de Janeiro, Brazil… appreciate a lot .👍🏻
I think it also has up and over bar risers from what I can see. I have a 2022 interceptor and just love it. Thanks for posting!
Yes it does, thanks for catching that! Glad you liked the video!
Hi, do you have a link for the electrical connectors kit please?
Hi @johnnywadeson9335 I dont have the link on me, but you should be able to find these on amazon or local hardware stores, 9 slot plugs is what they are called.
Are you sitting using it and is it accurate?
I’m still using it, the gauge moves as the hot oil touch’s the stem part of the gauge, hopefully this answers the accuracy.
My 650 has a 16t previous owner put it on but I’ve noticed the stock chain is a bit tight and won’t adjust anymore to slacken so I’m putting 15t on to give more slack
You can loosen the axle and move it forward a bit to increase the slack in chain then align the chain but evening tighten from both sides, hope this helps.
@@GrewalsGarage in my case the chain wasn’t long enough with the 16t sprocket on, even with the axel push all the way forward it was a bit to tight, putting the 15t back on has given the correct amount of slack back in the chain,
Some really good ideas on the Enfield I have the intersepter since 2019 Love this bike .. Every time I go out for a ride I just want to keep going I just about to change the tyres now the factory fitted one's are below legal I looked at other bikes But still like my orange enfield
Thanks for sharing! INT650 is all rounder!
Does this fit 2024 model?
Yes RE classic handlebar claps are same.
SOOOO hard to find video about this! I think my starter switch died, and I couldn't figure out where it was running to! I knew it looked like it was going into the light, but I'm like "That doesn't make sense.... Let's watch a video before ripping this apart". It's also currently raining outside, so this helps. As soon as the sun comes up I'll take it apart. Thanks!
Glad the video helped, both the kill switch and starter switch go bad on these plastic switches, check the plug in the headlight or the switch itself could be faulty. If it’s a short circuit then check wires under the tank if you removed the tank previously.
Upgrading to sintered pads for performance braking. Brakes are one of those key areas where Royal Enfield done a good job yet within budget, which can be improved with sintered pads as these are a hard metal compound with superior friction. I’m going to be running sintered pads both front and rear as I ride this 650 like a performance machine, if your using this to commute and not riding as aggressively I would recommend to use sintered pads in the front which will give you the 70% stopping power and organic pads in the rear as that’s best for daily riding.
i like your dog
Thank you!

What all the tools required??? Tool type and size including tank removal please
Hey @journeytales23 I have not created a step by step video on this, as there are plenty of other videos out there but lmk if you would like to see a step by step.
hi can you explain the rpm of 14 teeth. Because i am looking for more fun to ride than top speed
Hi, 14 teeth is more for torq where on higher speeds the rpms will increase. I would recommend 14th teeth if you’re building your motorcycle as an off road/touring machine, with luggage, gear, mud terrain tires and climbing off road trails, somewhat like a scrambler. 14th teeth will give you the torq to climb those hills. Hope that helps!
@@GrewalsGarage i usually have fun with the finest 4 gears, redlining them. I think 14 teeth gives me more fun right?
If your referring to the 4 speed motorcycles, those have a different torq delivery. These 650 engines stock 15th teeth is more than capable to tackle any hills. I would recommend to consider what you want to use it for but yes 14th teeth will not hurt in anyways will give you more punch when launching and climbing will be torqy.
@@GrewalsGarage thanks a lot sir
Your meteor 650 switchs swap look way cooler than stock and even from mine 2024 model...bcoz of color .mine r gloss black as standard...that mattish + silver product looks cooler than black gloss one ...might change them. ..contrast vadia allover bike mods..those both seat tank+ leather finish ..will get black ones...my gt is only 15 days old......te french di grammar lyi maffi bhaji... subscribed you bcoz of our roots and simple ,calm presentation.....u know about speedy mess in india...cant get a proper vlog ...where are you from brother
thanks for watching @suchet25 the metal switches are both superb quality and functionality over the plastic switches. I would highly recommend the swap and these accessory mods make the bike more premium. Oh ya vlogging might be tough there due to roads and traffic, however there are some nice vloggers in mid to south India area that made tons of money off vlogging. I have not done vlogging yet, only informational videos however I might look into it.

Hi, where did you acquire the mirrors from?
Here you go, accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/accessory-shop/Rectangular-Handlebar-End-Mirror/11597
They little tricky to install but doable, here is the install video th-cam.com/users/shortsyBoTjkepnV4?si=_-2zYwLt70cBeNHe
Thanks for the video! IMO the stock switches look better. The SM switches look out of proportion and color don’t work.
Even the new INT/GT models will have these SM switches going forward, so you might be stuck with these out of proportion switches if your planning on getting one of those bikes.
hi buddy its a informative vdo..i hv question like is it possible if i put the stock switch wire in to the new switch...like alteration of wire from old switch to new switch ??
thanks for watching, yes you can reuse the stock switch wires but the length will be compromised when you do a full left to right turn. You will have to solder the wires for a good connection. If your also running a handlebar raiser then length can be an issue, I would recommend swapping the connects for a secure connection to avoid any short circuits. Hope this helps!
❤
your sound recording of the engine is garbage bro
Thanks, will work on it!
Where did you get that seat? Looks very comfortable. And a little lower that stock.
thanks for watching, here is the link to the solo le pera seat. Its a great seat with a curve that keeps you within the seat specially when torq is applied. www.lepera.com/v4_spring_detail.php?SEATID=104 You will also need a swivel mount bracket that claps to the front of the seat. You can find one on amazon.
That´s the video I was looking for for days. Neat job mate. Cheers to you. Subscribed to your channel.
thanks for watching and supporting @The_redBaron glad the video was helpful!
@@GrewalsGarage welcome! If possible, please make a video on the left hand switch wiring, which you did after cutting the connector and replacing with the regular 9 pin connector.
Nice feature of your beautiful bike. All the best with your project going forward. Cheers ❤

Update june 2024, now remmotorcycle preinstall the 9 slotted plug complete with braided sleeve. For both left and right side switches. Now u just plug it. edit : You still need to major modification to it
Hi Veer, thanks for sharing this. I'm looking to swap switches on my 2019 Interceptor as well - the 2023+ models have rotary switches by default - the info button from the super meteor LH switch is deleted, which has no use on the Interceptor. Two questions: 1. What becomes of the hand brake switch cable? - seen dangling disconnected at 12:58 2. How to wire in the hazard switch?
Hi, I've done this on my 2019 Interceptor as well. 1. The dangling ends needs to be connected to the front brake switch which is below the master cylinder. 2. You'll need to get the hazard flasher unit and wire it accordingly (part number RAC00135/B). You can use the Meteor 350's wiring diagram as reference.
@@ShashankKR Thanks Shashank, this is helpful.
thanks for the reply @ShashankKR @srinivaskirthy thanks for watching you can also use the same aftermarket hazard flasher unit that is available for classic model. The wiring process will be same. I have used one on my classic 500. Instead of the switch that comes with the hazard, you will have to hard wire with the super meteor switch. Here is the link: simtacauto.com/product/re-classic
@@GrewalsGarage Thanks!
Those are the best looking switches I have seen. Have been trying to find a video like yours to see about fitting them and what they are like How does the indicator switch feel, is it positive or not, some are awful like on some of the Triumphs In the UK new vehicles have to be set up with the lights always on, it is the law, but I must admit to installing an off switch into the wiring on an older bike as I had aux lights fitted which were always on, when I took it in for the MOT (test) I made sure the switch was taped in the on position for thee headlights. They are not allowed to remove tape here. BTW, I think you have installed the clutch too far to the right, it should be next to the switchgear, then have the phone mount It looks all wrong to me, but, perhaps you prefer it that way? Sorry if I missed something Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching @blackskunk9034, the switches are great, checks all the boxes for me as far as looks and functionality. Only thing bugs me is the signal slide button as the clicking mechanism is tiny and so close as sometimes it’s hard to find neutral between left and right signal. I wish that button was little bigger. It takes some time to get used to them but will definitely not recommend these with winter thick gloves. Goal on this build for me is cafe racer look to make everything custom and slim, not everyday riding bike. And the clutch lever is not installed too far, this is not the final placement as it shows in the video, as I still had right side switch to tackle with throttle housing/grips and new levers as well. The levers should aline with the grips and should be inside of the handle bar length. Thanks for the feedback thou!
@@GrewalsGarage OK, thanks for coming back to me. I had a feeling the indicator switch would be a problem, such a shame. I will keep looking then, good luck

Very nice colour and very useful mods for daily usage congrats ✌️ Is there any complication faced while replacing the super meteor’s switch gears like cable / connector issues… why u preferred it. I am owning baker express 2021 model… any idea whether this switch gear will be suitable?
Thanks for watching, no complications while installing the super meteor switches, however the installation requires precision with wiring, drilling holes, and placement. Lovely look for this motorcycle did you buy the kit from mk designs?
Thanks for watching!! This kit was bought from Autologue designs! If your planning on buying the kit please watch the part 3 th-cam.com/video/2RS1WNGGpvY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MKtkkY0ykak6d7cP As I pointed out all the pros/cons!
Thanks for the video. I just installed a 17T front sprocket on my GT650. Now I can more comfortably cruise the highways around me. Since the speedo is off if I hold 80mph on the speedo (75mph according to gps) and my RPMs are now 4500 instead of the 5400 they used to be at.
Glad it worked out for you! 17T does loosen the chain a bit so be sure to adjust the chains slack accordingly to the diameter of the new sprocket.
The speedo won't be off because the pickup is on the front wheel. Changing sprockets won't do anything to throw the speedo off.
Thanks a ton for featuring my bike! Two other mods that are not visible are the Performance Air Filter and the 16T Sprocket Upgrade. Also the handle bar extenders which make this very easy to commute with!
It was fun upgrading this beauty, Amit! Thank you!
